We need to do another ride, Poes or even a Nags Head ride. Who's interested? |

I’m out til I exercise these electrical gremlins I’m having... got at least one chaffed wire in the main harness and now the stator won't charge the battery. So, I’ll be on tear down and rebuild next week. |

Where is Poes Pub? I searched the internet and the only one I found is the one in Richmond. Is there another one down in your way or do you guys ride up to Richmond. |

There is only one Poes Pub, it is in Richmond, about a hour from Yorktown. Its a good ride up Hwy 5 and there is always a good crowd of bikes there. Spread the word around about the ride. |

I live in Richmond and am contemplating riding down to yorktown and meeting you guys there. Then riding up with you. That way I can get a half decent ride for the day. I don't know anyone else that has a Buell in order to invite. One guy I ride with has a VTX and the other a Victory Vision. I'll see if there interested. |

Thanks. It took me a about 2 months to tear her down and put her back together. I am very happy with the outcome. Well after meeting Eric and a couple of the other Buell guys at the breakfast the track bug bit hard and didn't let go. Since that breakfast I have joined NESBA, bought a track suit and signed up for my first track day on October 14th. I have always wanted to do a track day but never did anything about it. After hearing the guys talk about how great it was it pushed me over the edge. Anyone else doing the track day at VIR on 10-14-12? |

They are running the Patriot course. I would like to meet up with someone that has done track days before and do a mock tech inspection on my bike. Any interested? |

So begins the tear-down and rebuild of the M2. The next time you see her she will be all black and orange. I'm purchasing the Axtell 1250 iron lined cylinder kit next week. Going to start tearing her apart later today. |

No problem, I would recommend doing the mock inspection a couple of weeks prior, that way if you need anything you have time, and of you don't need anything then you know not to ride it to hard(so you won't need anything) Patriot might be fun, going to be a work out. |

Jhupp, no problem. I'm usually wrenching on it during the weekends. Speaking of wrenching, if you haven't replaced the spring plate in your clutch (aka "grenade plate") you should. I have just over 20k on my M2 and the spring plate is in the center of the clutch pack. It is two riveted steel plates and some sort of fiber spacer... anyway the brass rivets in mine were loose. I dont mean a little loose, a lot!. I'm glad I noticed the feel in my clutch and took it out. I now have the so-called "race clutch" which is no spring plate. I can't tell how it feels since the bike is tore apart but I will let ya'll know soon. Axtell Jugs and pistons will be here this week! |

So... I see that there's a "Buelltoberfest" thread started. I'm thinking seriously about heading down. Thinking about loading up the bike and riding down, no trailer, no drama. Anyone else considering heading back down to GA? |

Goody, No I did not remove the grenade plate. Buellistic and a couple of other people suggested it but I did not have the compression tool to remove the clutch pack and then disassemble it. I do want to remove the grenade plate I just need to get the right tool. Not sure how much that 1250 kit costs but someone just posted one up on the classifieds section. |

Jhupp, I have the clutch compression tool with adapter. Its easy to do, all together its about $80 for the tool. I got my kit from NRHS with pistons and rings inserted into cylinders, I also got the complete top-end gasket kit. All together it cost me $778.00 shipped. I would seriously think about removing the spring plate, I was surprised by how loose the rivets were on mine. Kinda scary when you consider that all the power from the engine is transmitted through the clutch.
