Wow, I was up in the same area. I just rode the passes between Silverton, Lake City, Ouray, and Telluride. Been up there since Wednesday... I was in Lake City on Friday:
I had a great time, I attended a RMAR (Rocky Mountain Adventure Riders) event. I started off the first day, by myself as I was a day early. I rode over Hurricane pass, and then California Gulch, and Black Bear pass:
The second day I rode with a group up a bunch of single track trails. it was tough as hell, muddy, and a couple of guys fell.
Friday morning started off foggy, but it burned off by the time we were ready to ride.
Stopped in Lake City for lunch, and then headed up Engineers pass
We made it back without too many issues, but didn't beat the rain Saw this parked by our camp and got a pic:
Saturday, I rode with a group that went up 550 to Ridgeway, then west to Last Dollar road. this takes you in the back way to Telluride, then we climbed Ophir pass and dropped down into Silverton. Lots of issues on this ride! Folks falling in water crossings, falling off the edge of road...
The beemer rider got a little goofy at one of the crossings, and instead of going through it, he tried to go around it
then a guy hit a rock in the road, and it bounced him off the edge, oops!
The beemer guy had a rough time in the rocks also
the road was pretty nasty, but we made it to the top
This was my first time attending one of these events, I had a blast and plan to do it again in September. The CAM1000 is a 1000 mile 6 day ride around all the Passes and peaks in colorado. Sounds like a lot of fun! |

Engineer Pass is pretty awesome. Did it on a quad a few years back. Beautiful scenery! |

Bart- Read the latest cycle world? They had a shootout between several of the adventure bikes. Said the super ten was the best off road bike of the bunch whereas the explorer was more of a street bike and kinda sucked off road. Glad you got the Ten? |

I read that copy also. Yea, I'm very happy with the Tenere. It's a great all around bike that can pretty much do it all. It certainly goes more places than my oogly ever thought of going... |

Hey! I have over 8,000 miles on this dude in the last four weeks! It's going all kinds of cool places! (As long as it's not muddy) |

*whines* Stop posting pictures. You're making me regret moving even more. It's finally decent up here in Seattle, but the bikes have been down on parts a good chunk of the month or so of nice weather we've been having. Apparently, the 1125 with stock (orange seal) rear bearings takes a ton of water through them if you live in Seattle. Took a while to get replacements in and fine the time to swap them - I drained a LOT of really orange water out of the hub once the wheel came off - it had started spraying out on the rotor & pulley which clued me in that I had a problem. The Blast needed a new rear wheel bearing as well, which took a few weeks to show up. If I weren't planning on a long vacation this winter, I'd take the time off to come join you guys for the Taos rally. Really missing NM from up here... |

Did you try shopping at American Sportbike? I even talked to Erik Buell about that and he says that Al is one of the primary ones picking up HD slack as the obligatory part period winds down. It's only been three years and according to EB, they're only obligated to five. |

Hey, I got some new Pazzo levers for my 1125R for my birthday... does anyone need a set of stock levers for an 1125? $20? |

I think the front brake lever is also interchangeable with the XB's |

yes, the brake lever is interchangeable, just not the clutch as the 1125s have a hydraulic clutch. Missed you at the picnic today there Bart... Heard you had some other things to tend to. (Message edited by agfish18 on August 18, 2012) |

Here are some pics. The ends have a few little scrapes on them, but they work just fine.

Made it back from a great trip down to Taos for the Southwest Buell Rally. There were less than 10 of us but we packed in some great riding with no incidents. I'm sure we will have a good rally next year so being thinking about where you would like to go! |

Anybody have a regulator for an XB laying around? Arts XB isn't charging and I've verified good output from his stator, we just put a new battery in. ThunderTurd doesn't have one in stock he's be king with SF now. He dead in the water and needs to get back to Tucson. |

If it's and 08+ you can use the regulator from the 09-12 sportys. You just have to add some wire to one of the pairs. That's what I did when the regulator went out on my street bike. E |

Some pics from the SW Buell rally: Had a few issues with Arts XB, so I let him ride my CR, and I rode my S2. About 25 miles south of Taos, we hit rain, and had to put on the rain gear
We got to town about the same time as the Colorado folks
We had dinner at Doc Martins, which sucked, then went back to the hotel and dranks a few beers, smoked a few cigars, and called it a night. In the morning, Kim showed up from Santa Fe, (yay! another new mexican!) and we prepared for the days ride.
Some of the bikes:
got gas and headed out
I only rode as far as the turn off, to go down the high road, so I could get back and work on Art's bike I stopped in Penasco, and shot this picture of a Mural on one of the buildings
I had a good time, I should have stayed and ridden more, since there is still issues with Art's bike and he is stuck here in town another day, or two... |

Yay! Someone must have put a curse on your motorcycles lately. Better ask Bart where you can find a local witch doctor to remove the curse.
