one of my boys and i will be down sat morning thats two more buells the youngest is out of town so his wont be there. Would like some photo ops of a bunch of Buells. we went for a ride last saturday and with 3 buells we got some looks dont think most know what they are? | ||

Whee, almost there! I'll bring my gopro along and take some video to toss up on youtube or whatever. I'll probably ride my CR one day, and bring the Blast the other day (it looks pretty sad sitting there every time I take the CR out). Mark - any updates on the Clifton Park meetup? Is the plan still for 1pm? It's not looking like I can make it mid-day, but I can make a later meetup. Also, if you have them handy at this point, I wouldn't mind a copy of the zumo routes for the rides. | ||

I have posted up route sheets on my website for anyone that would like to print them out ahead of time, I will also bring some copies to hand out as well. http://www.allseasonrider.com/adk-buell-rally.html Baf - for the Zumo maps, the best bet is going to be to look at the Google maps on my website and build the routes off that. That's all I'm going to be doing for mine as I've not tried to use the program that goes from Google Maps to GPS yet, and don't want to try it out for something important like this, haha. I can help get routes set up in people's GPSs on Friday night. I'm figuring that we'll be split into small groups for the rides and most cases will have one person leading with a few bikes behind to follow. As far as a meetup, I haven't heard of anyone else that's planning on heading up with me, so let me know what time you're thinking and we'll make it work. | ||

Ah. I didn't know if you had already entered them in the GPS and could export the files from that. I can enter them in by hand then, no problem. As far as meetup, sometime around 3:30-4:30 would work best for me, but if you don't want to wait that late, I can always run up on my own. | ||

I took some of the routes from Mark's website and converted into a Garmin GPX file. Just hook up your garmin and throw the GPX file into your gamin gpx folder and you should be good to go. Worked for me Files are to large to upload to this site. If interested please IM me and i can email to you. I will be riding up through VT on Friday. Anyone coming from that direction look me up! | ||

Change of plans for the Albany Area Meetup: We will still meet at the same place (Country Drive-In in Clifton Park, just off Exit 8 of I-87), but the time has been pushed back to 3:30, plan on rolling by 4:30. I have a decent route I like to take up there that will be around an hour and a half or less. So far I only know that Baf is planning on meeting me. If anyone else that is heading up wants to meet (or the NJ or CT folks are rolling through the area around that time) stop by and we'll be in town by 6. Looks like my fancy new tank bag for the fancy new bike will be here today! I hope everyone goes a little easy on the defectors, I know I'm not the only one... | ||

Baf - the GPX files from your host do not work for me - I can't save them in the native .gpx format on my mac, it keeps converting it to a "web archive" format that my GPS won't recognize. I'll need to get the GPX file from fordhotline as I'm trying to make the Big Lakes Loop manually in my GPS and it keeps routing a totally different way than Google did with the same waypoints. A huge PITA. Worst case is I rock it old school and use the route sheets, lol. | ||

Bizarre, those GPX files are the exact files from fordhotline. I haven't tried to put them on my zumo though to see if they work. I'll try that tomorrow and see if they work for me. | ||

I got the ones you emailed me... I still can't get them to show up in the "import" folder on my Zumo, not sure why. I did get the Big Lakes Loop loaded in manually, finally, so we're good to go with that one. Any others I plan on riding are pretty short and will either be easier to load in or I already know them by heart. | ||

I highly suggest anything that includes Sacandaga if people are able - I likely won't ride it this weekend as I'll have plenty of opportunities to do that this season. Getting up to Lake Placid, however, is not something I get to do all the time. Haven't been up there in years. So that's what I'll be riding Saturday. | ||

I downloaded gpx files to a garmin nuvi. I am not sure how the zumos work but imagine files are much the same. we hooked garmin to computer. opened file called garmin and inside that file is a gpx file. that is where the gpx files are installed in garmin. Baf let me how they work for you. | ||

I saved the files to a folder then opened them with mapsource then transferred to my zumo hope this helps | ||

I'm sure it has to do with me using a Mac. I tried using the Mac version of MapSource, but it sucks... won't open the files and if I try to create a route in it it only has the main roads, no side streets. Hell, Lake Placid isn't even denoted on the map in there. |
