Author Message   Shred Posted on Saturday, July 31, 2004 - 11:41 am:        Cycle gear has d208 rear for about 126.00 and the front for about 105.00 and 12.00 to mount and bal. the tires each.No Diablos in stock,takes two days not bad.Proline at satalite behind the ford dealer has both D208 about 30.00 more for per tire and the same for Diaablos 22.00 per tire to mount and bal.Ouch!!!!I still special order they have great expertise.Neal has been in the bike seen for over 25 years,Wera,dirt, 2-stroke.I'm riding local sunday,going to wait until next weekend for the twisties.   New12r Posted on Saturday, July 31, 2004 - 12:05 pm:        thanks shred but i just got dunlop 208gp's for $20 a set from a buddy. a local ride would be good sunday, will have to check with samantha for a go ahead though.   New12r Posted on Saturday, July 31, 2004 - 12:08 pm:        Glitch, I just looked at your profile again, Nice Photoshop work. Upon leaving the parking on it for the first time, he decided it would be best to get a feel for the bike prior to getting it out on the open road. (a good idea) Knowing he was an inexperienced rider, an experienced one followed. Out of the lot, str8 through one stop, right at the next, to a cul-de-sac (less than a quarter mile total distance), a little front brake in a low speed turn around and dumparooski! A peg, shifter, mirror, grip and two weeks later, he was ready for another go at it. This time the bike left in a truck. Less than a month later, the bike returned as seen above. The explanation I got was: a little loose gravel in a parking lot sent him into a parked car. If you look closely, the bike took a good beatin'! I thought just the fairing structure had broken... but no! The triple clamp is broken in half. The frame took a whack from the fork tubes and the tubes are bent. i could not resist taking a shot of the odometer.   Glitch Posted on Sunday, August 01, 2004 - 07:05 am:        dumparooski! We've all done that one I believe, forgivable. sent him into a parked car. I believe we can assume target fixation on this one. Although the rest of the story sounds a little very fishy. This is why HD should have bought Cannondale, and started selling dirtbikes again. IMH hindesighted 20/20 vision. We critize the Japanese bike shops letting 16 year olds ride off with 600cc bikes capable of 140 or better with no training and I have heard stories of not even checking for a license, but was this any better????? It ends up giving us all a bad name and higher insurance rates.. Stopped at a country store for a biscuit, we headed back. Not a bad ride, although I can't wait for the next chance to spend a full day in the mountains. For the first time we are have a "HOG" moment.... I hoped this would not happen. But, when you get a group together it is hard to get everyone feeling the same. We did say we did not want to do it at the dealership because of the potential for interruptions. I acquiesced and have only had the same location offered up as an alternative. But, what we hoped for was an alternative. As we approach the meeting date, a place will be decided on if everyone agrees or not. I'm not trying to be difficult. We need at least an alternative suggestion from someone who does care about where we meet. Almost all of us at this point are in the "I don't care" family of where to meet. I am with you... the Cheetah. Alternative suggestions? Anyone? This is a big deal that everyone is taking very seriously and some folks (some named and some not) can not seem to see beyond themselves for. And seemingly all for the opposition of plastic giggling things. Please offer up some alternatives. This is recockulous. If we aren't having the meeting at the dealership cuz of distractions why would we go to Hooters?I did bring up the idea of meet at Mellow Mushroom or the Vortex a little early.We could get a couple table and have our meeting before it gets too busy.
