Hope to see everyone after that.... Steve   Nobuell Posted on Monday, December 05, 2011 - 08:38 pm:        I was able to get one last ride in for the season ( i've said this the last three rides). My son called and asked me to go down to Indy on Saturday to ride in the nice southern areas. 60 degree F temperatures were forecasted for Indy and only 60% chance of rain here in the Chicago area. I figured, if I left for Indy at 6:00 AM CST, I could get to there 9:30 AM EST. We could ride until around 6:00 PM EST and I could dash home beating the 100% chance of rain scheduled for Saturday evening in the Chicago area. What could go wrong? I made it to Indy at around 10:00 am EST (I slept in an extra 1/2 hour) and rode the nice roads south of Nashville and around Bloomington. It was sunny most of the day and did make it to 60 or so degrees. The riding in this area is great. Left my son's house around 6:00 pm EST to scoot back home. I was able to tailgate a BMW and Mercedes that were running +95 MPH until I ran low on gas near Crown Point. Made it back to Munster in record time and stayed dry the entire way. I stopped for dinner at a local Munster restaurant since our kitchen is completely removed for remodeling (there goes my new Ducati for another Year). I finished eating and walked outside to the bike to find it raining. I was only 1/4 mile from the house, so no problem. Not a bad day for December. After 15 hours in the saddle and around 700 miles, I better take some Advil. Even at 32 years of age (Right), that is a long day on the bike. This spring, we need to organize a ride in that area. There are lots of nice curvy and picturesque roads. It may be a nice change from the Slimy Crude Run. Perhaps we could talk Mike K. into a trailer ride south rather than north. We could go down on a Friday night, ride all day Saturday and some on Sunday then head home.   Pkman Posted on Wednesday, December 07, 2011 - 12:22 pm:        I've been hoping for a ride like you're talking about for a few years.
