I might be able to go. I have a lot of things to do before my trip early Monday. I'll be gone for three weeks, so don't want to forget anything. But I think I can break away. |

Damn. I'm going to be up at SF Harley on Sat getting my badly overdue 24k mile service done. If it's Sunday, maybe - I'll see how the weekend is going. |

how badly overdue is it? I am pretty sure I will need to get mine done soon too... Just had my 18K service done right before the rally and have about 21K on it now Need to get as much done before my prepaid service plan runs out in May of next year. |

I will be riding up and around the enchanted circle this weekend. May spend a night in Red River. I'd like to check out a road north of there that Frank spoke of. Don't forget Balloon fiesta this weekend, lots of traffic!!! |

What's the road that Frank spoke of? I don't recall hearing of anything interesting north of there. Not paved, anyway. Speaking of which: How's that DRZ working out? |

I'm over 28k and need my 24k service (which includes valves). Sorta skipped the 18k service except for the oil change (it's that & changing the fork oil, which I'm planning to do this winter). |

My Uly has 11K and I'm procrastinating on the 10K service due to the cost. I think I'll get the forks fixed on the Firebolt and ride the sh!t out of that since I have a service plan on it. It's approaching a 30K, which makes the service plan worthwhile. I'll save a few pennies over this month and then get the Uly squared away. I need to buy spare belts for both, too. |

ok, So I dont know what my friend decided, as he hasnt said anything to me, but I want to go for a ride either tomorrow or Sunday... I was thinking of keeping it similar to the original plan of heading somewhere for lunch (madrid or Jemez, or somewhere else of equal distance...open to ideas.) CJ, you still up? any ideas? |

Well, the wife wants to get out on her Rebel, so I have to see how that goes. She just finished the class on Sunday and this will be the first time riding around. Could be we do a short jaunt around the neighborhood and then run out further. I'm running in the morning and expect to be out until after 1000. I'm meeting a girl around 0815 to run the second half of her 22 miles with her. That'll be eleven for me and we're not too fast, so... Could be I'll be running around in the afternoon. What time are you guys thinking about heading out? Sunday, I was planning on Church in the morning and maybe a short ride after that. Gotta meet up with a buddy at some point before I go away on Monday. |

Either day works for us. We were planning on attending Balloon Fiesta in the AM. (which means an early morning for us at around 3:30-4:00 wake up), so I imagine we will be around all day, although I will probably want a nap at some point. Afternoon works for us, or Sunday... either way. If you can't make it out with us, we will still go somewhere I am sure. I have to get my wheels put back on my track bike at some point this weekend, and finish getting it ready for track next weekend, but that shouldn't take too long, and I am flexible on that obviously. |

Received word today... the XB12R repairs were finally completed after about 4 weeks waiting for a Voltage Regulator. I wonder what vendor makes VRs for HD... I forgot what the bike looks like. I'll have to look at some pictures... |

I won't be around. I'm heading up north to do the enchanted circle and the TA/TP route. Will probably spend the night somewhere in Colorado, then come back down the same route. Thinking of selling both the Honda and the 1125 and getting a VFR. Just had my 2nd stator replaced on the CR, and not liking the thought of replacing it every 5000 miles. The Honda, just no real need for it since I don't ride 2 up anymore. |

Well, I was running errands all over today. I did get on the bike a little to get into town and have lunch with my son. I saw a Silver S2T very much like Frank Skinner's at 550/528 around 1pm or so. I'm pretty certain it wasn't Frank, but that bike was a dead ringer. About ten minutes later I saw a translucent blue Lightning in Bernalillo west-bound on 550. Looked like a 2009 12S. |

Today was a nice riding day. I went to Madrid for lunch with a couple other guys (both on CBR1000RRs.) Traffic was minimal, and cops were non-existent, so we made it there in pretty good time. We had lunch, then turned around and came back. Still didnt get my tires put on my CBR, so I guess that will wait until next weekend, glad track day is on Sunday! for those of you who havent seen my new paint... Angela got out today on her Rebel around the neighborhood. She's doing pretty good but I don't want to rush her into going too far or too fast. She needs to ease into it, I think. Meanwhile, I'm off for New Orleans. See yas in three weeks. |

Adam, I will keep you in mind when the seats are ready to go. Nice looking paint, have a good day at the track! CJ, little steps is what it takes. Build confidence at the same time gaining experience. Keep it easy and make it fun. I had a good ride up north. Beautiful weather, the fall colors are in full bloom. I was wishing I was on the DR650 at times as a few of the dirt roads west of Mora really looked tempting. 28 degrees in Red River when I woke up Sunday morn. Glad the Honda has heated seat and grips. :-) Will probably ride down through the Mogollon next weekend. Only part of the state I haven't ridden this season. |

CJ, you've got the right idea. She needs to learn at her own pace. You dont know how many nights Stacey and I had just gone laps around our neighborhood before she was adventurous enough to try a "real" public street. She is nowhere near ready for highway travel yet, but for her first out of neighborhood experience, she made it to my parents' house in Rio Rancho on the CBR, which is 13 miles one way taking Unser. Not too bad I guess, but she doesn't get to practice very often as she doesnt have her own bike yet.If she had her own, I am sure we would be doing longer rides together... |

In case anybody is interested before I "officially" put it up for sale on eBay, Craig's list or @ Moto Authority... FOR SALE: 2008 Buell XB12Scg (Cherry Bomb Red) with extras... new rear tire (Pirelli Angel), new front brakes, heated grips, heat shield, TechSpec frame pads, breather & catch-can, extra seat, and all service up to date. Plenty of mileage left on the front tire. Great bike for vertically challenged riders or those who want a Lightning with an even lower center of gravity. Just under 20K miles...Runs great. Send me a PM if interested. I do not intend to "give it away..." but I am flexible. Let me know. |

How important is the SCG bit of it? Would you be willing to trade SCG suspension for stock height suspension with some extra cash thrown in? I'm looking for SCG bits for my XB9 (my gf is OK on it, but a bit lower would be useful). |

Syonyk... in a word NO. The bike is going up for sale as a fully functional 2008 XB12Scg...no part swaps. Agfish... Wife bought a new bike. She found something newer and better for herself...a BMW. |

Maybe Shannon needs a real Scg for herself and you get your track bike back. |

Then he would have 4 Buells in his garage, and he would then take the crown that once was BuellNick's... We will have to make him a sign for over his garage..."Buell Adoption Agency" |

Worth asking. Did she end up with one of the F800s? I see quite a few shorter women riding those. And, yes, that would put me up to 4. I'm not sure I could easily fit them in my garage. Right now, with 3, I can get any of the 3 out without too much trouble. Add another, and I'll have to unpack the garage to get any of the bikes out! Well, except an 1190. They're slim enough that I'm sure I could easily fit one of those without trouble. Sadly, I'm lacking the $40k... It's not too pricey to get the SCG bits through a dealership, so I'll probably just go that way. Also, related to dealerships, Santa Fe is now carrying Amsoil. A quart of Amsoil 20W50 costs exactly the same as a quart of Syn3... I somehow suspect they'll have a major reduction in the amount of syn3 sold. Of course, I find this out right after buying 24 quarts of Amsoil 20W50 to keep my bikes happy... |

I was surprised to hear about SFHD stocking AMSOIL. HD must be relaxing the pressure on dealers to sell only HD oil... which most people know...Syn 3 is made by Sunoco. Not real eager to get rid of the Scg... but if the right buyer comes along who is willing to pay what the bike is worth it will be sold. BTW: Its a BMW F800R. |

Went for a short dirt bike ride from Placitas to Cedar Crest. Fun road, pretty nasty towards the top due to the recent snow. Once i got back onto the pavement, saw two squids down on a corner, cops and ambulance there. A silver Ducati, and a blue R6. (they never learn) Nice fall colors

I'm glad I went up to Red River last weekend. they got 9" of snow Thursday night. Brrr! |
