anyone have any recommendations for saddle bags for the 1125? I wanted to have something to store a little bit in for the rally. my fiancee and I were going to try riding up (as opposed to me riding, and her following behind in the car), and I dont know how comfy she will be with a backpack with 2 days worth of stuff in it. |

I'm sure she wouldn't be very comfortable at all. I don't have any saddlebags for my Firebolt, but I've looked over and over at the FirstGear/Cortech bags. Good stuff, not too expensive, seems like it would hold a lot. Not sure how they'll be with a passenger, too. I sort of perceived that they would lean down on the rear peg and or peg bracket. Seems like Nick had some bags on his TT once? Maybe he can make a recommendation. |

Reiver, do your bags allow for a passenger to ride as well? |

Don't know. Never had anyone on the back. I'm sure the saddlebags would block the rear pegs. Maybe you could get a tank bag and a small backpack. |

It's possible to put a passenger on an 1125 with the Cortech saddlebags, but be careful - they'll likely rub on the tire when loaded. Bartimus made me an awesome set of standoffs to keep the bags out away from the tire, but without that, they rub. There's not really a good solution for two-up with luggage on the 1125. The best solution is to have her get her motorcycle license & a bike. |

Hello everyone, I just got an 05 Buell xb9sx recently and am loving it so far. I am pretty new to riding and taking it easy at first but its been great! I'm looking forward to meeting some fellow Buell owners and going out for a ride. |

Yea, not much you can do to carry gear and a passenger with the miniscule tails that Buells have. I use some huge Vetter bagman bags I've had for about 20 years now. They sit right on the rear pegs. :-( When Deb and I used to take my City-X up to Colorado I used a huge tankbag and she carried a backpack. Not too comfortable her. Ventura makes a nice rack for the back that allows you to carry tons of stuff. That would be a decent option for someone with a passenger. I think Al at American Sport Bike sells them. Brider, welcome to the madness. The XB9SX is a great bike. I miss mine everyday. ;-( |

Thanks guys, stoked to be here. I'm not completely new to riding, I've owned a Ninja in the past (about 3 years ago)but sold it to go snowboarding all season.. Anyway, this bike beats the crap out of it!! |

I have Cortech saddle and top/tail bags...while the saddle bags work ok in solo mode they do not work with a passenger. A passenger really can't cant get his/her legs/feet to the pegs... These are great bags and a great value for the money. The bags CJ saw on my TT last year were Buell saddle bags. If you can find a set on eBay or somewhere else, they are good for a few items...but they are smaller than the Cortechs and would require some creative mounting on an 1125 or short XB... mine were made for the long frames but do I use them on the Firebolt... which has the same tail section as the 1125. These do allow enough room for legs/feet. The best solution is for passenger to get her own bike and ride by her own self... |

Passenger has her license... just not a street legal bike to ride, nor does she have the experience yet to ride that far. Her son (12) is here for the summer which leaves her unable to practice much. I was trying to find a cheaper alternative to buying a new bike Thanks to all who answered. Brider505, Welcome to the board! Hope you can join the rally in August! |

Adam, I think it's pretty likely that we're going up together. Right? If so, I can haul some of your shtuff. The Uly has room to spare! Brider505, Welcome. You're going to have fun is you ride with us. Keep the weekend of August 19, 20, 21 free. We have a rally in Durango. On that note, I'm still firming up the rooms. Durango Mountain Resort is sending me some stuff. Like Red River, it's a condo/hotel setup, so very good for people to share. I'll post details when I have them. Bart: Would be nice if you could come to this. Kim says she's going to attend. |

Thanks, that sounds AWESOME! I love Durango. So I have a question; I went on American Sport Bike and found Crossroad 0 degree clip on bars. I really want to get them but I have know idea how to install new bars or switch out throttle cablesCan anyone assist? or do you think a shop would help if I paid for labor? Thanks in advance |

Adam, patch looks nice. I like it. Josh, no idea. I would expect your current cables would be longer than you might need with clip-ons. Bart might be a good one to ask, but certainly there are shops that could do it. (Bart doesn't like shops, though.) Nick might also have some insight since he's had so many Buells! |

OK, check this out: I just got the rates from Durango Mountain Resort. I think this is pretty good and she's sending me a contract. Need you guys to sound off about it and confirm you're attending: At Purgatory Village, they offer: King Room - $83 plus tax, plus $13 resort fee Studio for 2 - $90 plus tax, plus $14 resort fee Studio for 4 - $98 plus tax, plus $15 resort fee 1 bedroom condo (sleeps 4) - $121 plus tax, plus $15 resort fee 2 bedroom condo (sleeps 6) - $182 plus tax, plus $18 resort fee There are many of these rooms available. Also, she quoted me some condos in other buildings that sleep many people each, but there are only one or two of each available and they're much more expensive (but not necessarily on a per person basis). I need to get some numbers ASAP. I have to fill at least five rooms per night for two nights for the pricing to stick, otherwise, they'll revert back to standard pricing. Let me know. Thanks. |

Count Stacey and I in for a King Room for Friday night and Saturday night. also, on the patch...according to the email, "Yellow Stitching indicates cut line – patch will have 1/8” black serge on outer edge." one of the members made a couple suggestions, but I wanted to open them up to you all. suggestion 1: the outer edge of the patch be outlined in a yellow border. Suggestion 2: maybe making the black border a smidge thicker and incorporating larger white pegusii in on the black border area facing the direction of the text. I will do a mock up when I get home to better illustrate. the detail in the pegasii arent quite as easy to see as originally thought... (I have not asked if it is a possiblity yet) (Message edited by agfish18 on July 14, 2011) (Message edited by agfish18 on July 14, 2011) |

Brider, the shop will charge you standard rate, $80 an hour or more. Pretty easy to install. No need to change cables. You have to drill a hole in the left shroud for the clutch cable. Bonus there as the cable no longer blocks your mileage and trip meter display. Buy some beer and come to my place. I will drink your beer and watch you install your bars. :-) Advice and instruction are free. |

CJ, wouldn't mind attending. Everyone heading up 550? I'm allergic to straight roads. I would go thru Chama and pagosa springs. Have you posted any suggested routes? I was just in that area in June. So has Murrae said whether or not he's going? |

Sweet Bartimus, Thanks! I'll let you know when I order them. Those Patches look cool, how much? I might be up for a King room. Just need to confirm with work. |

FYI re Clip-ons... before you buy check out Woodcraft Technologies which makes two-piece clip-ons with three different heights...cheaper, easier to mount etc. |

ALSO...re the patch. There's a real issue with the Pegasii being too small on an actual patch...even though they look OK on a digital photo. It may be better to make some mods to make it look better. Agfish, hope you have time to do some minor mods... |

This is what was suggested by another member to deal with the small pegusi... I emailed Zia Graphics to see if changes at this point would alter the time frame/ required deposit. no word as of yet. Anyway, the pegusi are larger, and white on black which may be easier to see/ more detailed... if you guys would rather try for something like this, we can. just understand that they may require additional fees at this point, and it may delay the production time by a week or so. I will let you know once I do. if you are fine with current patch, I can continue the process. |

Agfish, I really like what you did to the patch... and the Pegasii look a lot better. I prefer this latest one and I am willing to pay a little more and wait a little longer - if necessary. However, either way is acceptable if the majority out there are against this latest version... I am still getting five. |

Buellnick, I'm checking out Woodcraft Technologies right now. Through a little research I understand I need a 54mm clip on w/ at least 1" of rise. I am not seeing this size on here. Do you have them or know someone who put them on a buell xb9sx? If I could find the right size these look great. |
