Kind of a bummer having to go back to work after so long but I'm sure you will be better off and I'm glad you're feeling up to it. Hope you can make it to Millers on the Memorial day weekend. The races should be great. If you can go don't forget to get tickets from Derrek and tell them you're part of Buell Riders Group for a good discount. See his e-mail to me that I'll forward in another e-mail following. Stay well and stay safe, Bob |

So I'm noticing now that the issue I thought was a TPS one only seems to occur in the rain. Pulled the plug wires and they look OK and resistance tested in spec. I'm changing the plugs while I'm in there, but any thoughts? Searching the Uly forum here and it seemes to be not an uncommon issue for the Ulys... |

Some of the XB's have had issues with cracked ECM bodies haven't they? Perhaps some bit of moisture is making its way in when it's especially damp out? |

Just a little heads up. There is an AMA test session at Millers on Monday and Tuesday May 2nd-3rd in which Erik Buell Racing will probably be there with the 1190's. I e-mailed Erik Buell Racing and Michael Richter wrote back that "that is the plan". To be there. Also on Geoff Mays website he replied to me a similar response and that he is looking forward to being there as it is one of his favorite tracks. I'm gonna make it Monday for sure and get my tickets to the Memorial day races. If you can get off work it may prove to be a great day of testing for all AMA superbikes and especially our beloved Buells. Every year I'm more proud to be on the greatest motorcycle made. GO Erik, Go Buell racing! |

Thanks for the update Bob. Are those ticketed days or can we just go out there and hang out? I'm off Monday, and go back on shift Tuesday night so I could ride out for both days. I'll check the family schedule and make sure I'm good to go. |

I'm not sure Mike, but going out to the MOM races in which my son had a friend riding last year we were not charged to get in. I believe if there is a charge it will be minimal. Nothing like a major meet, either bikes or cars. I will e-mail Derreck and ask. |

Not I...I'm going through MSF RiderCoach training that week and we'll be teaching our first class that weekend. I'm definitely doing the one after WSBK weekend and maybe the one earlier in May (if there is one and I'm not imagining things). |

One thing after another... Noticed I got a leaky right front fork now. My weekends are pretty taken up for the next month or so, so I think I might take a chance on South Valley and see if they can deal with it. |

I too have a leaking fork. You can pick up the parts from American Sport Bike and have Corporate Suspension take care of the labor. I believe they are always at the APEX track days. http://www.corporatesuspension.com/services/shop/rebuild.php

Seals are pretty cheap, and if you guys can get your hands on a fork spring compressor, you can do the whole job in about an hour (and change out your fork oil while you're at it). I just happen to have one and can be bribed - just sayin'. I'd have to check whether I have the right seal driver, though. |

Saw Jeff's bike in the flesh today...awful purdy! Sounds like a beast and is much more svelt than before. It'll be great to see you run out there! I got my RV spot for the WSBK weekend...a little farther from The Attitudes than I hoped, but that's what I get for waiting so long. I'll be in spot 156, so stop on by (if I'm there...). |

KB - you are too kind. Looks like the 23rd will be the break-in day. I am planning to do SBK weekend and the track day immediately after (perimeter course). |

For anyone interested, and if you can get off work for the AMA test session on May 2nd-3rd, Monday & Tuesday, and which I have heard from Michael at Erik Buell Racing and Geoff May they are planning on being there to test the 1190RR and there shouldn't be any charge to get in and an e-mail I just received from Derrek DeGraff at MMP. He said: "There is no cost on the AMA test days". "As far as I know there shouldn’t really be any limitations. They haven’t said anything about it being private. I too am looking forward to seeing it". "Oh and please do extend the discount offer to all of the Utah Buellers" Good luck to Kerri and Jeff on your track days. Maybe I'll catch you on the Memorial day weekend or the test session. And lets get together for a ride soon. Bob |

Update on this test session; just got an e-mail from the man himself (Erik) that they will not make the test session so we'll have to wait to see if they run the 1190 at the SB races on Memorial day weekend. He said they are WFO on building bikes to insure they get homologated into SB this year and he hopes to "race" it at Millers Memorial day. |

Mike(Littlebuggles)and Robert(Saxon59), I guess you guys have done Johnson's pass and I had the fun of doing that on Thursday in the car after chasing the wild horses on Cedar mountain and some tailgate snacks Boy what a great nine miles of twisties. If it wasn't so far for me to get to it would be one of my favorite warmup rides. Thanks for clueing us in on a great place to ride our Buells. We did SR199 from Skull valley to SR36 and into Tooele. An altogether great day and nice to break some cabin fever we had. Thanks guys. I'm looking forward to doing it on the 1125 soon until we can do some serious canyon chasing in the high country. Bob |

So Jeff & I did the trackday yesterday. Awesome weather! Great times! And Jeff proved just how tough the 1125 is...he got stuffed going into turn one and he and the bike had a quick conversation with some gravel, ending in a spectacular cartwheel (with Jeff still aboard)just before the tire wall. Jeff was kind enough to throw his body under the bike to save it from major damage and as a result, only the windscreen was destroyed and the tail section was smushed a bit. He got up, shook off the dust, the Rescue guys got his bike back to the pit area, he re-teched and carried on! You have to make fun of him though...for all the weight saving work he did, he picked it all right back up again in gravel! Jeff, I'm very glad you are alright and in one piece! |

"Jeff, I'm very glad you are alright and in one piece!" A big "Amen" on that Kerri. The bikes can always be fixed or replaced but our bodies are a fragile thing not easily fixed. I am also glad Jeff walked away. He's probably feeling pretty sore today but he's tough and will be back at it 100% soon. With all that went on I hope you guys had a good time and it all added to your riding experiences. Hope I catch you at the SB races Memorial day and until then ride safe and definitely have fun out there on the street and on the track. Bob |

KB - you betcha! I've got to see if Trev over at Flexiglass can fix me up with a new tail section and I'm going to order my new windscreen from HeeBeeArrr today, so I should be good to go - Perimeter course = big fun. |

I'm off May 31, but no money for track stuff these days. Hope to transfer in Aug which will allow for some over-time potential, more funds, and more fun activities. Speaking of which... Brandon, I pulled those pants from the hanger in the garage, they are a size 30. I can't get them past my legs, guess I've bulked up a bit, so even trimming down a bit won't make them fit. Do you think they'll fit you? Are you even in the market still? I cleaned them up with some saddle soap and can post pics, or email you directly. |

From Utah commuter link: http://commuterlink.utah.gov/PDFContent/SeasonalRo adClosures.pdf Looks like their expecting some of our favorite canyons to open Memorial day weekend. Seems speculative at best with the snow pack and current weather but I'm hoping it comes true. My rides lately have been limited to over Trappers and East canyon but just to the resort. Maybe after MMP we'll be able to do some nice street rides. Hoping.......Bob |

Someone on Geoff May's Facebook site asked when we will see the 1190RS run in AMA and he posted yesterday: GEOFF MAY: "It's entered for miller" WOW! its gonna be a fun weekend at the track! The man, but on the 1125R at Infineon. I imagine his colors will be similar. Go Geoff.

Some friends went up Monte to the gate last weekend. The river has flooded well over the road in a couple places. I'm going to stay away from it for a while. In the meantime...I'll be at the track! Let me know when y'all wanna do the BBQ thing...I'm trackside again this year. |

I'm with ya on Monte Kerri. Read the report on USBA. South Fork of the Ogden river is going to be a flooding problem for a while I'm afraid. Did East canyon to the resort a few times and its my go to ride for a while. Been doing a few test rides just for the fun of it at open houses at different bike dealers but still haven't found anything better then my 1125 so no need to spend any more money. Still lovin' it. Karen and I will be floating around at Millers, driving to watch the races at different grandstands, visiting the paddock, and will definitely stop by you and Brandon's RV spots to say howdy. Thanks for the invite. See you there. Bob |

Popped into BMW today for their open house and caught a test ride on the new GTL. Pretty neat piece of tech with wheels. After being so used to my Uly, I could barely tell that thing was running! At least I'll have something to talk about for the podcast! |

I listened to the first one (podcast), haven't gotten to listen to any others yet. Fun stuff. Bob, Chuck, and all will you guys post up here if there are demo events and open houses you're aware of? I'm not teaching riders ed so I never hear about these things anymore, and I love riding other people's bikes. It's always nice to get a feel for what else is out there. Strangely, as many other bikes as I've demoed, I always prefer the one I rode there. But the new "tech" is always cool to sample. Still need to get my tickets for the races. Have to check the schedule and see if I can take Monday night off. |
