Went for a nice cruise yesterday up and down as many roads as I could along the rio grande. Saw some spectacular homes and some great scenery. Today I rode up to santa fe the back way. On the way back I see someone coming up On me pretty quick, I look down, I'm doing 80. I pull over to the side of my lane and wave him by expecting a crotch rocket. Instead a scooter zooms by, the rider tucked in behind his gauges and pinning his throttle . I couldn't help chuckling, and sped up to pace him and see what his top speed was. He topped out around 95. That's kind of crazy on something with 12" wheels! More power to him! I did notice on the rear fenderwell it said GL300. Pretty good sized motor. So, at Springfast I was passed by a Hardley, in the curves, and today I got passed by a scooter. I must be getting old or something. |

Not sure about track day day... On race day, One Buell 1125 suffered a major engine problem (not mine) and was no longer able to compete - too bad since he's probably the second fastest Buell rider out there. I had a guy low side right in front of me as he was exciting turn 3 (hairpin). A few panic moments for both of us. I had to avoid him while he rolled out of the way... Generally, a good track weekend. **Turn 3 not four (Message edited by Buellnick on May 23, 2011) |

it was a fairly good track weekend... I got down to 1:09 lap times, and feel like I am leaning more...
There was a guy that went down on Saturday where his Girl friend/ wife said they may have to amputate his finger. My buddy Eric Cooper went down yesterday too. Low sided in turn 1, and his bike is now in-op for a while. He was running 53 second laps though prior to his spill. My fiancee came down with a case of strep (fairly bad since her throat started to swell up and she couldnt eat/ drink very well.) so I stayed home on Sunday to take care of her and didnt make it out to Race day. Glad to hear that no one was seriously injured though. |

Was the engine failure Brandon? (I think... skinny dude, about 115 lbs soaking wet, from somewhere up northwest?) Sucks, though... I spent the weekend playing with a new netbook and rejetting the Blast. I opened the intake up, rejetted the carb slightly, and it's much better! *grins* Pulls much harder in the midrange, with a bit more up high as well. Shannon is a lot happier with it on the highway now. |

I think that turn one incident was a two bike incident... a BMW S1000RR rider went down as well - pretty hard. Everyone walked away...actually one got an ambulance ride - then walked away. BTW: It was B... I just don't like mentioning real names on an open blog like BADWEB. It sounded like a valve train issue... |

Brandon was the 1125 problem. He thinks its a dropped valve. The BMW that crashed was Edda Tully. Last I heard she was ok. Too bad Leo didn't get one of me on Turn 1 or 5. I was dragging alot of knee thru there. |

I'd like him to photograph me in turn 1 or 6, but he likes getting stuff from turns 2,3 &7 for some reason... |

He's a stubborn old man. Lol. He does what he wants. Just cuz I lived with him for a while (18 years) doesn't mean he will listen to me. ill put the bug in his ear for next time. |

Whatever the market can bear...for an American made, limited production, Superbike. If I had $40k to spare, I would be lining up for one. I'm sure a more affordable Erik Buell Racing bike will be forthcoming... Is there a ride this coming weekend? Where to? N |

Debbie will be in town this weekend and I think we would be up for a ride to Taos for lunch or something. |

Frank, good point, perhaps we will go down towards Ruidoso or something. I wouldn't want to be around that many lead sleds at one time. Thanks for the heads up! |

As far as I know, CJ put together a plan to ride up north toward Chama and back on Monday. I think we are planning on going on that ride. |
