So this is how I am planning it: Thursday July 21st meet in Woodland Friday July 22nd Ride (Stay in Bend) Saturday July 23rd Ride (Stay in Bend) Sunday July 24th Ride (Head for home or ?) I am going to check out the motel situation and post more later about that. I am sure we will want to stay at a place that has a pool and close to walking distance to food and BEER!  | ||

MG, What is the Econo Lodge like in Bend? Can you do a check on this one? I have called and talked to them and they seem to be good people. Looking on line the place seems to be fairly decent. They have: Pool, Cont B-fast, friges, blow dryers, coffee makers, on site restuarant with lounge Rocky the owner said they are wide open for that weekend and said ground floor rooms would be avail too us if we wanted. So given that the cost of the room would be $55-$65 plus tax x 2 nights (this price would be if we reserve at least 5 rooms). Room choices would be 2-Queen beds, 1 king, or 1 queen. They also have 1 room that has a king bed, pull out sofa bed, and a rollaway with kitchen for $99 plus tax. Let me know what you all think!!!!  | ||

Sounds like Econolodge is ok if that's what you want to do... I think I stayed there once years ago. It's on 3rd street which is the old commercial Hwy through Bend so not as nice a location but still only a few blocks from downtown. | ||

Thanks MG! I think I will call the owner back in a week or two and have him block some rooms out for us. I think 8 rooms to start and go from there. Seeing that the hair dryers are very important to all! HA!  If anyone has other ideas let me know okay. Need to try and start a list of individuals that are planning on making it this year. I'm Back!!! My real computater has been a bit of a jumble,and I cant get here from my work-unit...but just got the boys PC online in our new pad in Olympia! So I am so completly there for this ride. I will be sporting new breaks and be in all respects in tip-top mechanical condition, so if'n anyone wants to ride a rocket... I'm also taking off till the 26th... maybe I'll go to Canadia on the way home... And we can count on Peter Magoo being there on Betty! | ||

Hi Gang, Of course, I will be on the ride... planning on riding up to Woodland on Friday and meeting up with you all for the ride back to Bend. I will try to ride the routes out of Bend in June or July before the ride if time and weather permit. Planning for a BBQ at our house Sunday evening at the end of the ride. | ||

Rocky the owner has set aside 10 rooms, 5 with single beds, and 5 with 2 queens. Requesting ground floor if you want it but he cannot assure it. When you call tell them you are with the SPLASH Event for the weekend of July 22nd. You will at that time need to give a credit card number to make the reservation Call 541-382-7711 or 1-800-507-2211 Please post back here once you have made your reservation so that I know. I have to call him in early June and verify that the rooms are being reserved. Now I am getting excited!! Can't wait to see everyone for a great long weekend. | ||
