Frank, I just exchanged messages with Bob about Gateway. Seems as though there isn't too many people wanting to commit to that trip. I told him I'm still open to it and the AZ trip. I just looked at where Springfast will be and it is about 600 miles one way depending on the route. I want to keep to a 3 day weekend this year as much as possible. I think this trip would require a fourth day to be comfortable. I could be talked into it as the date approaches. |

I must of missed the poll that asked how many were going? It is hard to get people to go when it is not advertised. |

I think Bob called around to the people on Dave's email list to gauge interest. I used Google Earth last night to check out the trip to Springfast, and then the Devil's Highway. Man, I'm liking the idea even more, now. Just viewing the pictures other people have posted along the route is impressive. |

Dan and I are planning on a 2 week trip this summer with our new travel trailer. We're not sure exactly where we're going but I'd like to do the Northwest area. It all depends on how expensive diesel fuel is LOL. Dan's been prepping the trailer to hold the bikes and doing some detail work on it. We hope to be doing a lot more dirt biking this summer too. |

Does anyone here know about Highway 65 which starts just east of Delta, CO off Highway 92? It heads north from there and looks very twisty as it crosses the mountains and eventually connects with I-70 east of Palisade. I have no idea what surface it has or if it is maintained well. It looks very inviting, though. |

Hi Jody, I rode that route (hwy 65) last year after the South West Rally. It a good hard surface road and a ball to ride, there was almost no traffic. I rode it from I70 South down to Orchard City then Hwy 92 East to Hotchkiss then north on 133 to Carbondale. Great ride would recommend it to anyone. |

I got my PitBull stands today! Have the CR raised up and ready to pull the front wheel to change the tire out. Oil changes will sure be cleaner with it raised up on the stands. Once I get the CR work done I will use the stands to start work on the XB. There won't be a shortage of projects now! |

Jody, Springfast, if you want to leave there Thursday after work, you are welcome to stay at my house, and leave with us Friday morning... HWY191 is a great ride, and the scenery is spectacular. Great roads, good people, it's going to be a fun time for all.

Jody, Dan and I have ridden that road many times and it truly is a beautiful ride. Well worth the time to do it (several times) |

Did a nice ride in the Foothills today with Brian and Dan. Went up Coal Creek Canyon to peak to peak highway. Over to Central City and back thru Evergreen to Bear Creek Canyon to Morrison. All roads were CLEAN and had been recently swept. Very nice. (Message edited by jcbikes on April 02, 2011) |

Hi John, Dan and I did a nice ride up Deer Creek to Conifer. There was some gravel on the roads but it was a nice tame ride for this time of year. We were hoping to go down to Deckers and take the back way home to Sedalia but it got too late. Hope to see you this spring/summer for some rides. We are also planning on doing more dirt biking this year now that we have a new bigger cozier travel trailer. Oh and I just signed up today to start a 2 year program in holistic nutrition. Back to school, aughhhhh (Message edited by jumpinjewels on April 04, 2011) |

I finally got the front wheel reshod and rode the bike last night. I need to bleed the brakes a little more, there is a faint rubbing sound from the brake pads touching the rotor. I found it very difficult not to move the pads when taking the wheel off and putting it back on. A strange malfunction was noticed. The left front turn signal is not working. It acts like a standard bulb being out, but it uses LEDs! Is it possible that the wire going up through the mirror mount has developed a short? The rear left turn signal works, but blinks fast. I did loosen the mirror mount when I replaced the clutch lever, I thought I made sure the wires were ok. Hmmmm? |

Jody - more likely the blinker fluid is low. Ooops I mean the connector isn't seated fully or you have a broken wire. Got our state return check, federal should hit soon, if they have any money.... Getting ready for fix-it stuff : Send Loren the seat he did for Frank to fix a small tear. Send Kevin Drum the mid-pipe that has some cracks for repair. Send Erik Buell Racing the race ECM from Loretta for Drummer specific flash and re-install engine braking. Strip Loretta's frame & swingarm for painting. Hope y'all are enjoying the warm-up, I know I am.. Z |

Zac, which blinker fluid spec: 20d70 or 32p80? |

I like the cadence of the thicker fluid Jody. Gives a healthier... blink. |

Zac, you need to ride down this way sometime. I just got back from a long ride down to the Spanish Peaks area and back to Canon City. I rode pegs down for my sisters dog we had to put to sleep earlier today. She was, just like her name, a Sweetie to the very end. She will be sorely missed. Time to make plans for the Arizona trip. I'm probably going to take my truck and the bike just to be safe and avoid a repeat of Red River last year. Darned stator's, you just can't count on 'em. |

Jody - I just read a report from a guy with an 09 1125 that got 08 stator/rotor set installed as a warranty repair of his failed 09 parts. There may be hope that this becomes the policy from H-D. I think, if true, it was most likely a goodwill job by a very good dealer tho. |

That sounds great Zack. I would even consider them paying to have the '09 stator rewound correctly to be a warranty fix. Who knows? My plan will be to just pay to have it rewound next time. No one who has done so has reported any problems back to the BadWeb. |

Pretty good Sunday here. Took an old geezer friend of mine, one who lives in the assisted living home I used to work for, on a ride. He got a kick out of it. Took him over Skyline Drive. Afterwards I did some yard work and then tinkered with the Buells in the garage. I put the exhaust turn out tips on the 1125CR, a nice, relatively easy mod. The bent forks on the XB have now been removed. The used ones I bought are shorter, by about 15mm. I may only use them for a short term while getting the originals fixed or replaced. I think the grill needs to get tuned up next, so I can invite some folks over. Hmmmm... |

Frank - got things sorted out. I will be having a "chat" with Justin. Happy Easter everybody, HC-HD/B will be CLOSED Sunday!!! Gotta get the Uly's new front tire on and get her back on the road so I can tear Loretta down for paint. Waiting for a new fork tube cap... Z |

Apparently the tech that did the 10k service on the Uly no longer works for us. Both fork caps were waaay overtightened and the preload wasn't preset properly before re-assembly on the messed up leg, only had 3/4 turn of preload adjust. I pretty much destroyed the one cap getting it off. All is good now, one leg is all back together, new cap should arrive today and I'll have Bluenose back on the road this afternoon. Got a new Scorpion front on yesterday, ready to ride the beast. Z |

Julie, do you know of a natural remedy or something that can help with migraines that are brought on by a change in the weather (barometer dropping)? I am beginning to hate ERs and Doctors. At this point I am willing to try anything that would help me get through the day. Frank |

Camping, yes definitely Frank. We're planning on doing some dirt biking towards the end of this month. It's our anniversary date. Will probably head down towards Lake George area where there are some nice camping spots and easy dirt biking trails. We're excited about trying out our new travel trailer. |
