I'm down for the show on the 8th. But I don't think ill be riding. Still haven't had surgery on my elbow yet and 53 degrees and rainy wouldn't feel so fun on it.
I am on my first trip of the year. Left this morning for Hillsboro IL to watch my son race in a big spring classic bicycle race. I managed to almost stay out of the rain. It is sunny and warm down here. Should be sunny and warm for tomorrows race and the ride home. I stayed on back roads all the way from my house. It felt nice to get out.
APRIL MEETING SUGGESTION: anyone up for combining this month's meeting with the Buell/Craftsman event friday night? lots of nearby places to grab eats after the show.
[indy guys, i don't have any route suggestions, but the more the merrier!]
Yes Tim, good idea. We can talk while we are there.
Ryan, did we meet you at the GP last year? I65 north, we cut over on IN 10 going east to Momence, IL then north on 57 to get you into downtown. Refer to a map for details. If you are getting into town late afternoon, plan on pretty heavy traffic once you hit the metro area. Call me for further details if you want. 815 592-3822
I know we are going to plan to stay off the highway at least on the way up there. I'm going to recon some stuff. I've saved your number for when we do get up there.
The event is at 7:00 so we plan on leaving at 2:00 for a nice ride on up.

I'm not sure what this radio "event" will be...I have my doubts about accommodating a large gr,up...but hey....A Friday meeting downtown works a little better for me than away this time around, so keep me posted about where we are meeting....
If it is a old furniture store address, will there be chairs? John...

Yes, it IS that time and wow looks like we will NOT have snow up to our sprokets or thereabouts! Great idea to hold our monthly meeting at the Craftsman event, I am all in for it? What say the officers?
This came today, thought I would pass it along. May be worth making plans now for those that can commit.

Can anyone in the area possibly verify the address for me of the Craftsman Erik Buell Racing thing? It is showing on google as an old furniture factory. Thanks!
Thanks! I would hate to come up from Indy and end up at the wrong spot!
Looks like we will be leaving Indy between 1/2 and hopefully miss the rain. Group of 4 of us: 1 09 1125R in Black 1 09 1125R in White 1 04 XB12R in Red/Gold 1 05 XB12R in Red/Gold
It's official, meeting is moved to after the Craftsman Event on Friday April 8th. See the above posts for details. Those of you traveling from the South/SWest burbs may want to connect with us in Burr Ridge for the ride in, "en masse."
Ride well! Hope to see many there after all this IS our home turf.
Meet by 5:15 PM at 140 East Tower Drive, Burr Ridge, IL. My building is 2 minuets off of I55 (see map). From I55, go north on County Line Road to the first light. Turn right onto Carriage Way and then turn right immediately on to the Frontage Road. Go one block and turn left on to Tower Drive. The sign in our front yard says "AMS Mechanical Service". Turn right at our first drive way and proceed to the back of our building.
I will be back there with my bike.
Call me on my cell phone if there are any problems. 630-688-9487.
Woo hoo I am finally able to post here again. I had so much fun at The Craftsman Experience last night. It was great to see everyone. What a fun way to spend a Friday night.
PC831...Your return to posting, timing, is about perfect.... I too was thrilled i decided to run down for the broadcast....Got home late(from the city, haha),tired and feelin lazy...last thing i wanted to do was drive back....Glad I did....and no parking ticket Hope for some links to some great photos...since in my rush I forgot my camera... Sure was a good time....good to see all there... What happened to the meeting? Did I miss it? Were there minutes taken?
I have posted this on the Quickboard. You can download or order prints if you like. It was fun.
"The Windy City Club was in attendance. We all had a very nice time, the staff was very friendly from Craftsman and welcomed us with free parking next to the building. (a great value in Chicago). Plenty of good eats and drinks. The production seemed a little hokey, but Erik, Geoff and the crew handled it all very well and they seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. Was there streaming issues with Facebook? Can we not watch it anywhere now? See photos here." http://photo2.walgreens.com/walgreens/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=12064694006/a=570452006_570452006/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=walgreens/
I wanted to thank you all for letting get out and ride with you. It was a delight to meet all of you guys from my new home. I'll be sure to get out with you guys if you allow it. Just I hope my exhaust doesn't bother you too much.
It's the guy on the 1125r that met up with a hand full guys last week in Burr Ridge and rode to the Craftsman Experience Erik Buell Racing show. It was good meeting you guys. Hopefully I can get involved in some more rides this Summer.
