Seemed to have a pretty good turn out on Sunday. Lots of people at the different stops on the way and a ton of folks at Bixby. Group rides went fairly well, saw some dumb things and lots of bad riding (ie leaning the wrong way for corners) but everyone got there in one piece and no tickets. I'm thinking a little talk before the ride addressing how to conduct yourself in a group etc etc would go a long way. Maybe identifying the leader before the ride would help also. Hopefully the HSTA guys can weigh in on how they conduct group rides just for future information. Met a few new folks (I'm terrible with name but I think it was 1125RMike who said he reads but doesn't post. Come on wimp! We dont bite!) and saw folks I haven't seen in a while. My first Buell (a 99S3T) showed up at Bixby also which was nice to see. All in all a good time was had by all. Thanks to Gateway for the shindig, I'm waiting for the call about my winning raffel ticket. I'll leave with a shot from the dealer on Saturday after I demo'ed a CR...

I really wanted to go on the ride. Alas work and real life require advanced planning for me to take off. Still would love to get up there. Maybe we need to plan a reunion here in St Louis! Do a day of twisties! |

Thanks to the folks that own Gateway Harley Davidson/Buell. Rene and Chris Creed. I was able to purchase a sweet white 1125R. Her name is "Mystra". And since my lady prefers sportbike more than I ...she may be the primary rider if we can get it the right height for her to ride safely. I still love my sporty buell chop.. Pics to come soon |

"Is SLAB still getting together at all?" Ha! In the last 2 1/2 years of being on here I have hooked up with V2win Racerboy and Freak a few times each. SLAB is like non existent. MSTA is where it's at! Those boys are the best! |

I'm working on trying to get us some regular events going. What would you guys like to see? I'm willing to put the time in to organize if I know the interest is there. Also see about doing some joint things with MSTA |

Just good rides and a few meet and greets every once in a while is fine with me. Although we all get busy and can't make all the planned rides or meets it would be cool if we could still communicate (here or where ever) enough to meet up and do unplanned / last minute rides. As soon as the weather gets up over 55* I will try to post here when I'm going out for a thrashing and see if we can start meeting. Sometimes I may only be giving a 24 hr notice and other times may be only a 2 hour notice. I will also post an intended duration and destination. If others here do the same It will be a lot easier to revive SLAB. I'm in Wentzville and my "front yard" runs out to Old Monroe and my "back yard' dips down to Augusta. There is lots of excellent riding every where around the entire SLA and would like to check out everyone else's "back yard" too. I also have two noobs to break in. My boys are 17 and 15 years old. They aren't total noobs though. They have been taking turns riding an old Electra Glide last year and have several years of experience playing and competing on the dirt. If we could ever afford it we would love to get our hands on a couple of decent bikes. The Electra is ok but they both want something a lot sportier plus we need a third bike so we can all go out at the same time. |

It's cool to see some action around here! I'm riding about everyday there isn't snow on the ground, if anybody is up for a ride let me know. I spend most of my time with these guys http://www.stlar.com/ Be sure to click on the forums link, top right side of the page. We have a polar bear ride coming up in the next couple weekends, would be awesome to not be the only Buell. |

Want to ride in the Mardi Gras parade? From Gateway Harley/Buell Anyone and everyone is welcome. We have about 50 bikes signed up to ride. We have 100 slots. You can RSVP for the event before hand but you MUST be at Gateway H-D to pick up your ride bracelet between 7:00 and 7:30 on February 13th. The ride will leave to go down there at 7:45. Staging is between 8 and 8:15. The parade starts at 11. These aren't our rules. They are rules from Mardi Gras Inc. Like I said on the message, it is free to ride in the parade. We just need riders to sign a waiver. We do have to cap it at 150 riders. So whoever doesn't get a ride bracelet will not be allowed to ride. We have a feeling that the number of riders will depend greatly on the weather. |

Reason for me asking is this. I was working on my Jeep yesterday. I am installing a Borla header and full exhaust on my Wrangler. Well I had to remove the intake to replace the gasket and found a nice chunk of my intake missing on one port. Well needless to say I have to replace my intake now. Well I found a nice new Offenhauser 4bbl intake on Craigslist but it is in New Florence, MO. The problem is that I live in Mass. lol Was wondering if someone was in the area and could pick it up & ship it to me? If not no biggie, I'm just seeing if it was remotely possible. |
