Any one want to win a Dunlap tire in a BRAG raffle?? Read on!!! You all are gonna want to read this... especially the tuber owners. This may be the first time EVERYONE wants to read what I wrote. This is KC Central BRAG stuff... and any non BRAG members may want to show up for our next monthly meeting and consider joining. Last month a rep from MidAmerica PowerSports Plus... a bike shop on 40 Hwy in Independence, came to the BRAG meeting and told us a little about the place. I have been there a few times and the owners are really putting a nice place together. One of the owners is also a Buell-a-holic! Today two Dunlap tires were donated for the BRAG club to raffle. DONATED!!! One will be raffled at the June KC Central BRAG meeting and the other will be raffled at the July meeting KC Central BRAG. Since I literally stumbled into this opportunity I will be doing the raffle ticket thing. The tickets will be $5.00 each (no limit, buy as many as you want). Get them early and/or at the June BRAG meeting for the June drawing. A second identical tire will be Raffled at the July meeting, and tickets will be available after the June meeting for the July raffle. ALL funds collected go to the KC Central BRAG treasury. The details... Dunlap Sportsmax 205, 170/60ZR17 Come on... if ya don't need a tire now... you are gonna need one soon... our Buells like to go through them rear tires. I want to thank Mid America PowerSports Plus for the unsolicited and generous donation to our BRAG club. I was also told that they will try to continue to donate items for raffle to help support us Buell-a-holics. As he put it... "Us Buell guys gotta stick together!" Go see the place... the Dyno room is gonna be too cool!!! Tell em you know me and/or you are a KC Central BRAG member when you say hi! (aka KC Mob) |

Good negotiating Dennis! When they get the dyno installed I propose we all go there and have a friendly shoot out. For those that have never tuned their bike using a dyno it's a great experience and the results may suprise you. Did me. 99 HP, stock bore. There, I said it again Keef. 99Hp stock bore. 99Hp stock bore... |

Paul... I will keep some raffle tickets in my tank bag. When we get together on Wednesday nights I can fix you up! Want a raffle ticket? ... anyone... anyone??? Bueller!! Come by, see me on bike nights, or at the meeting. Near the last order of business will be the drawing, so there will be tickets at the meeting if we don't hook up. |

Awesome Dennis! I'm in for two tickets as well! I also agree with the Dyno Shoot out! I would love to get mine up there! Anyone riding tomarrow? Would love to take a ride! Bill came through and saved the day for me today! He hand a delivered an instock part for me from central. It seems to have fixed the brake light switch problem I was having. We will see how the 3rd one on the bike will fare! Thanks Zues & Central! On top of that he comes by at such an opertune moment! As he rolls up 4 of use were huddled around my carrier air conditioning unit trying to replace a fan that the motor had seized on! Being Bill he just had to jump in take a look see! Turns out it was a good thing as it seems it had happened before and the previous owner didn't fix it quite right. Nothing like helping out a buddy and getting put to work on your day off!! Within an hour time frame I had a fixed brake light and air conditioning unit! Thanks again Bill the BBQ details are actually being discussed and planned!! I also picked up a bike trailer today! Got it for next to nothing. Needs to be cleaned up a bit and I still need to get one of the under body hitches for my truck but hey it was a steal! Pretty good day today all in all! ***PS*** If you guys meet up or want to go for a ride don't make it early in the morning!! :P I need my beauty sleep! edited by Fuscat on June 05, 2004 |

Strike that! It was just one legend. His trusty sidekick is still feeling the effects of knee replacement surgery. It just didn't seem the same, riding with Bob without John being right in th mix of things. Then again, it was kind of nice not having to wonder what was missing after lunch! everything was right where I put it! Bob, Good seeing you again! let me know when you are going to anywhere close in the future! Keith p.s. And for those of you wondering, yes, he can still school me on my home roads. |

Not quite, Keith, your riding has improved by a quantum factor...I was kinda watching your corner lines for a bit at the start on A Highway and you can sure as hell tell you're spending more time on the "good" side of the big creek...John, remember when Keith said to us "You guys don't slow down for curves", well, he's there...Here's a copy of my post to our site...With some explanation not contained there... "Delivered?...Well, kinda...Those were not the best, or even close to it...That old white shack on the right as we rode out of Dodge was the "best"...Run by an old black man who was magic with meat and wood...(refers to one "legend's" ability to locate good eats) It was an interesting day, as usual, but Sue (SV650S) commented that we seemed to be on a wildlife safari...We had three deer cross in front of us at different times, a big black snake and then a raccoon in the middle of the afternoon, after lunch...It's either, as Sue said, the young 'uns leaving the nests or we're in for an earthquake...'Cuz all the critters are on the move in the light of day...Keith, a Bueller (and general all around great guy...Gee, do you think he should go into politics?) from Quincy, met us at the Clarence Cannon Damn and gave us a guided tour of the best roads in the area...A Highway running east from there was very good and so was the short jaunt up H...Ron (Walkup...CBR 949RR) was able to experience both of these before he had to head for the barn...Keith left us after lunch to return to the land of no curves...Except his new wife, Heather...Ask me later...In private...Or, better yet, ask John...There was a killer band playing at the bar on the south side of the road in Defiance with a really good gal vocalist, Stacy...Of course, I'd never met her before...Ask me later...And then who shows up but Eric (a friend of Sue's who first rode with us last weekend) and his friend...Eric had all the H-D crowd enthralled and applauding his stunt riding back and forth on 94...Some of the guys I knew there wanted to know who the heck he was?...Was he a "Streetfighter"?...It's that sitting on the bars wheelstand that got them...Oh, and the stand on the seat thing...And then, just as we were ready to leave, Russ (who left the ride early because of all the corn fields and said it was a waste unless there were at the end...), there were four naked gals handing out free beer...Steve left to the east and Sue, Eric, his friend and I rode west...Sue and I left them at 94 and 47...I left Sue at Old 100 and 100 and stopped for a coke at Jack's to see about a guy I know who went down Friday...He's okay but his cycle is toast...And there's this thing about "leaving the sceen"...Shirl and Robyn called me on the cell and they were on their way in 44 from riding so I persuaded them to meet me at El Nopal in Eureka...Didn't have to do much persuading... So, I sit here at 2330 hours waiting for Dan, KK (that's Krazy Kathy) and Arild (they do two up track days) to get back from Road America and return my RC51 to the garage here...They called and left a message that they are running late so it's going to be one or two in the wee hours before we unload Dan's scooter (Dan's a new grad and is locating to STL from Nebraska and I'm storing "his" RC)... I hope everyone had wonderful and safe weekend and, Idle, you do a GREAT job of clearing the roads (refers to Marks off road GS excursion last weekend on W Highway out of Clarksville...Off the road down the ditch, up to other side, back down the ditch and back onto the road due...Caused by gravel...We've had this happen twice and both times the riders were on GS's...Says something, I think, but I'm not quite sure what...He's "Idle" because he left his GS running in the garage two winters ago to "warm it up" and cooked the top end...$$$$$, or should that be Euros?)... Mom (367 s'miles later, a lite day for John, and still have 1/4 tank of gas in the "Mother Ship"" And Keith, boy if you think it's strange seeing only one "legend", it's been weird for me...The "Beast" has been in the shop for some dyno fun and I rode it this past Friday...It wheelied on me in 3rd getting onto the slab...Hearing this just about killed John...I really haven't even planned a trip for this summer 'cuz it just wouldn't seem right without him...But it is kinda nice knowing exactly where your keys are...Thanks again for showing us your roads...And to the "mob" let's try for AR in the fall when V2win's back on TWO!!!...The afore mentioned KK and Arild live on a great farm near Franklin AR with extra beds, a bunk house and plenty of camping and they're about 60 miles from "Push Mountain" and 123...Of course, they "never" have any scooter trash stay there... Bob, Heather and I are hoping to plan another weekend for the KC boys to head over this year. We haven't set any definite plans yet, but it would great if you guys could make it up for at least part of the weekend. The goal is to put together a route including those roads that will last the day. I am getting closer to being able to piece it all together. Note to everyone! KEEP THE VISOR CLOSED ON YOUR HELMETS!! Yesterday I was riding to meet Bob and a couple HSTA guys. I was quite hot out so I put a pair of sunglasses on and left the visor of my helmet open to get more air in! At just barely above the legal speed something struck me in the forehead just above my sunglasses. Hurt like HELL!!! I thought WOW that must have been one big bug. Rubbed it a little and flipped the visor down so it wouldn't happen again! About 2 minutes later the culprit started crawling up the inside of my visor. A DAMN BEE!!!!! turned my head sideways, flipped open the visor and let the wind carry him away. I woke up this morning with a knot about half the size of a golfball right about my eyebrow. UGGHHHH!!! But what a great ride it was! Keith
