The official press release follows: Harley-Davidson announced today the Company has chosen to end its factory VR1000 Superbike racing program and retire from the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Superbike series after the final round of the 2001 season at Virginia International Raceway on September 28-30... "Our development team took a hard look at rebuilding the program this year, and what it would take to bring the VR 1000 to a competitive level and replace it with a new design. Harley-Davidson has determined the resources required to do that are simply too costly to pursue given our other business priorities," said Baker. Well, Maybe they will finally do the right thing and Create a Buell motorcycle to race in its place!!!!! Quite honestly, I think Eric Buell should demand it!!! Picotte is still under contract for another 2 years with HD. Can you imagine the possibilities with Pascal on an Eric Buell creation??????? If your East of Indiana it's west on I-64. Coming from the North, I-69 south from MI, or I-57 from IL. All you southern die-hards can come up from US 41 through KY. Hey Motor City Buellers, we are nearing the end of what turned out to be a great season. We just got back from Deal's and then Grattan, wow am I sore/tired. I'll be formulating plans and programs for next year. Our group tripled in size this season and we are just getting rolling. Anybody needing a fix for some two wheeled racing be sure to get out to Kart2Kart in Sterling Heights on Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. for the biggest pocketbike race yet. Riders are promising to attend from several states. This will also be the last event before the Motor City Mini Moto Team goes on tour with the USHRA at The Thunder Nationals racing in front of 15,000 people a night. Never go to Hawg Quarters unless you need parts and know what you need. My buddy Joe went there to get his bike "dyno tuned" , They procedeed to drill a hole in his new supertrap exhaust (that they didn't need to do)  ripped apart his carb and totaly threw out everything that was done to it, ie adjustable needle and throttle slide that was drilled to spec And to top it all off they mared his orange frame. And had the nerve to tell him the new pipe with only 30 miles on it "might be bad" | ||
