Ed and I will be working. Luis and I did Jemez on Monday. Was pretty nice. Not too chilly. We had lunch at the Jemez Stage Stop, right across from Los Ojos. The server, Jessica, was flirting with Luis pretty hard. I thought she was going to rub her ass on him. |

ok - Thanks...but stop. I hope to do better next year. Check out the video at this link below. This illustrates some pretty good traffic management...Don't try this at home. http://www.autoblog.com/2010/09/27/video-moscow-mo torcyclists-crazy-high-speed-commute/ |

Thanks again...but STOP-It! I accomplished this by racking up points (showing up for every race) and (most importantly) not wrecking Next year (if I decide to continue) I'll be upgrading the 1125 with Erik Buell Racing suspension components so I hope to get my 1:04 best lap time down to around 1:00. I think I'll also try slicks next year... |

Hey guys, had a question... I pulled my bike out of the garage today to ride it to work and the clutch lever didnt have any tension, and did not engage clutch so I could shift. any ideas as to why? everything looks un-broken, and master cyl still has fluid in it. |

Sounds like the dreaded clutch weep. Look around the small pegasus cover on the right side of the engine, for fluid leaking or seeping. The o-rings have been known to fail, and there is a kit available to fix the problem. It is also a warranty repair. The leak allowed air into the system, causing the problem you are experiencing. |

Actually I have had that fixed before... I checked the clutch cover to see if it was weeping again, and it wasnt. I had that issue fixed under warranty about a year ago. |

It certainly sounds like air in the system somewhere. Some have had the weeping return, you may be one of the unlucky ones. Have you tried bleeding the line? that may help. |

ok, you were right... I didnt see any weeping when I checked earlier, but when I returned home from work, the cover had some fluid on it. I checked the master cyl. and it was pretty low. Undoubtedly air in the system. I picked up some DOT 4 fluid to re-fill, and will bleed the line tomorrow when I have more time. Thanks Bartimus. |

That sux. Well, at least you can still ride it, as long as you keep the system topped off, after you bleed it.

luckily I have another bike I can ride in the mean time for a quick fix, but yeah, it does suck. I thought that "fixing" it the first time would have left zero chance of it happening again... I guess my definition of "Fixed" is different than Harley's, good thing it is still under warranty. |

back when the weeping issue first came up, they were just replacing one or two o-rings, now they have an actual "kit" designed to repair the problem correctly. You may have been one of he early ones that just had the o-rings replaced. |

Interesting. I've never heard of that. In August when we were returning from the SW Buell Rally, Ed's bike lost the clutch at an intersection. Turned out something on the inside of the primary cover broke causing the clutch cable to disconnect (I think that's what it was). Anyway, needed a whole new primary cover. Glad yours wasn't that. Bart: When are you here? I think you said Nov 2nd for starting your new job. Then are you here for good? I'd like to get a short ride going sometime. Are you working graves here too? |

CJ, Wasn't Ed's bike an XB? Different clutch system. I'll be back in town on sunday, start work DAYS on Nov 1st. I will be up for a ride Sat or Sun next weekend. I'l be commuting every other weekend to spend time with Debbie, and get some warm weather riding in. I left the S2 at her house, and have the XB, CR, and Honda here. 35 degrees in the morning, holy crap! Thank God my commute to work is only about 15 minutes, LOL! Yea, I'm up for either a spirited ride, or a sedate ride next weekend. either works for me... B |

Yeah, my bike is an XB. It was the clutch ramps in the primary case that broke. New problem: Right fork is leaking.

Think you busted a seal? or do you know cause of the leak yet? |

Agfish: I am pretty sure it is a busted seal. Bart: If I can get some stands I will probably want to borrow that. |

Well shit. If we're going to do forks, I want mine done too. The Firebolt is weeping from the left fork seal. How much are the parts? How long does it take to do and how hard is it? |

I know how to get em off, its not too hard. Brian Robertson can get the seals and oil for about 80. Brian also knows a guy in Farmington (where Brian lives) that will do em both for 125. We just need a rear and in steering head front stands. That is to do both forks. I think that I will do em both just as a PM on the second. A front stand alone will not keep a bike steady. $80 ??? Wow! The seals are like $15 each, and the fork oil is about $6 a quart. You need 2 qts of HD type 2 fork oil. You can do both forks in about 6 hours... I have both front and rear stands, I just don't have any tools at my house yet, except for the small tool bag I carry in my truck. I'll have all my tools out here in another two weeks. I will HELP you do them for a 12 pack of beer. (Message edited by bartimus on October 28, 2010) |
