I guess my ramp is a 2x10 if not a 2x12. You can make it stronger and a little more fool-proof by adding boards to the side (1x6's or similar). They stiffen up the ramp and give you a lip on each side that helps keep the tires from "walking" off the ramp. Come to think of it- maybe I should add those to mine. OK- I'll let you know what we do when the time gets closer. |

Rare Buell Sighting Alert! As I was headed east on I-26 about 6:45 this morning, I came up on a white 1125CR that peeled off southbound on 526. Either it was a 2010 or a 2009 with 2010 bodywork. Anybody know this guy? |

Want a dirt bike & can't afford two "specialized" motorcycles. Apartment building (what I do) struggles as developers re-think how to package its funding. |

After moving to N. Chas from Maine this summer, I got the Dairyland renewal paperwork in the mail. With the 09 CR and the 01 "Sportster", my policy has more than tripled, up to $1,800 for the year. I have no tickets, or anything else on my record. There's no way I can afford this, so I'm either going to have to sell the bike (don't want to) or switch insurance companies. I know rates are more expensive here (cars went up 50% upon moving), but going up 300% is bullcrap. What companies are you guys down here using, and is the $1,800 rate actually reasonable for this area? Thanks, Rich One day when I get some free time I'll be able to meet up with some of you. :-) |

Stop in the Harley shop and ask the sales dept. Really! When they sold Buell it was really hard to find low enough insurance premiums for people to buy a CR. I have state farm but I have all my insurance with them so the cost is O.K. I respect the Progressive rep that comes in the dealership to work with customers and wrecks. but don't know their rates. Dairyland used to be the lowest? |

i tried usaa cuz i use them for everything but the send you to progressive. all of my insurance went way up here in columbia as opposed to tennessee. but my 09 xb9sx cost me 220 dollars a year. i dont have full on it just enough to cover my but if i need. a little more than liability. i have no tickets or anything on record. |

I wonder if the 984 is still under that Insurance rule of "under" 1000cc and no "R" in the name keeps it in the lower bracket...So 1125 cR has 2 strikes! |

Hey guys- I just got back from the Bonneville Salt Flats! I had to go to the Salt Lake City area last week for work and we ended up with a day to kill while we were there. I looked on-line and saw that the Salt Flats weren't that far away (120 miles from SLC) and last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were the "World Finals", kind of a mini "Speed Week". We spent all day Thursday there. I actually found a few Buells (including a turbocharged Blast) and saw a bunch of amazing cars. It's by far the coolest thing I've ever attended. I'll post some photos when I get a chance. |

Jadow- I've been reading up on this stuff since I got back. Did you know there's an East Coast Timing Association that does runs up at an old airstrip in Maxton, NC (just across the SC border)? Apparently they have enough pavement to get in a timed 1-mile run. I'm thinking I'll have to go up there some time to check that out. It's a damn sight closer than the ~2300 miles to Bonneville! |

hugh, do you put your bike in diagonally into your ranger? I was measuring and i think i can squeeze mine in diagonally. Its a step side bed so i loose that much more room unfortunately. Im hoping to truck it up with the tailgate up, would prefer not to leave it down. Although we trailered the cyclone up without anything behind it last year with no mishaps |

I joined the ECTA in 2005-2006 cause I bought a Hyabusa and was doing stupid stuff on the street! With the help of KWS Motorsports in North Charleston and the Pros at Maxton I reached my goal of 200.56157 on April 2,2006. I have the pics and time slip to prove it. Was disappointed when I wasn't inducted into the 200mph club..seems you have to break a record above 200 to be a member. Thats ok I can check that off my bucket list. You really should go. It is always a great time. |

State Farm, SC liability on four added-on auto policy, $132 to $288 /bike/year. (twice Sc'kat's age, too) |

I do put a strap or two on the rear end of the bike too though. I figure if the bike gets loose from all those straps, the tailgate is the least of my worries. I'm planning on carrying both Buells this time so I have to put the bikes in straight. I sold my 1125CR to Not_purple_s2 who lives in Alabama. I'm delivering the bike to him. Kind of sad to see it go, but I really think I prefer my Uly. |
