Can't go this Saturday. Just got back from a trackday up at Pacific Raceway near Seattle. Sharon went and did her first trackday. She loved it! She says she's not hooked, but I'm not buying it. |

Yeah 20 is a nice road but try Aufderheide Dr off of 20/126 going past cougar reservoir into Oakridge as well. Very little traffic and much tighter. We will be riding it this weekend to Crater Lake. |

If you can do that route do it. I rode quartzville with mark a few years back and its and incredible ride. Be careful though a lot of single lane rd with only turn outs every 1000 ft or so in-case of oncoming traffic. |

Never been. Only done trackdays. The TOR is one 20 minute instructor led session. My personal feeling is that you will not get what You expected because of the wide rider experience that will be there. The instructor will most likely pace it to the group. |

TOR = Taste of Crashing, or so I've been told. Spend your money on a track day, you won't regret it |

BORDER RAID is only 16 days away. Check the link at the top of Storm Fronts for all the details: dates, lodging, and ride routes. This is a great opportunity to ride some the best BC roads and meet some even better people. And yeah, this would be like the 13th annual Border Raid Hope to see ya'll there, Chris |

Stick, I've heard good bad and ugly about it. A savvy rider can probably survive it if he pays attention but there are a lot of offs. It's what $20 for a maximum of 20 minute track day? With A, B and C riders on the track at the same time? That means: You do not get a sighting lap from the back of a truck with an instructor talking about the track. You do not get ~an hour of classroom instruction talking about the track, basic signals, basic procedure. You are on a schedule, be there or be square, ready to go and calm (DOUBT IT) when the track wants you. You need two laps to heat up your tires and get even a basic feel for the track layout, thats about 4 minutes. Probably won't get lapped this early, but you may get a yellow flag, and there may already have a rider off to the point the session is over (It's happend) Assume a 1:40 lap on these, and tats pushing it if you've never ridden the track. Now, ther's not many "A" guys here, but there may be some good riders, lets say there running 1:18's. there going to be in your A$$ can after four laps, or just about the same time you catch up to the dude on the bagger rining 2:05's Mabey all of you can enter turn four at the same time? Wouldnt that be FUN? OK session is over, lets get a little coaching, relax re-hydraite and get back out there to work on waht I learned.. Wait.. I gotta agree with ThePod here, PSSR is a great group, I hear Corsa is a s well but haven't ridden with them. Nesba has a good reputation here. Yeah it's ten (Wait, PSSR id down to $150 full day!! thats only 7.5 times) times the cost of TOR, but it's 100 times the value. No, you wont get ten sessions in, but you'll get a MINIMUM of five and you may get Eight (Nine!!!) You'll get lead around sessions to learn the track and pick up the pace nice and slow. You'll get one on one instruction if you ask for it, you'll get lunch, water. You'll be in a group with "Like Paced" riders. To be honest, if I wanted to see the track and whack the gas hard once or twice, perhaps even turn the bike in hard a few times, I could do TOR for $20. I'd sit back in the entry lane while everyone else took off then when they hit the markers before turn one jump on it and ride my own ride. I know I wouldn't get a knee down, and I many not even get a full lap in, but hey, $20 for a good cause. If I wanted to learn, find my own limits (You wont find the bikes on your first track day) and have a GREAT day. I'm taking a track day. |

Border Raid sounds like a good time, but I just got back from an 11 day, 3,989 mile, 5 state, 60.5 hours of saddle time, two up ride. I will stick to some Saturday rides for a bit. I am not sure they will let me into Canada anymore anyways. WTF? Do you know how many bus loads of Canadians were down at Bryce Canyon and The Grand Canyon last week. |
