well, The bike is back on the road, and all seems to be going well, but it's still early. I still need to know about how many people are planning on coming to waterloo for the 18th, the more the better! chris |

Looking at my Schedule for the week, it looks like I have every day before 4:30 open this week, if anyone feels like going for a ride (and can stand keeping pace with a blast) let me know. With the bike back together it is still running a little "rough", so I'd also love some constructive criticism. Thankfully all my tools are at my friends construction site a block form my house, and the pub. So if anyone feels the need to gut my bike next sunday, it is entirely possible |

I won't be able to join you guys at the restaurant this Sunday. I've gotta work......bummer! Enjoy the MotoGP racing. It starts at 2:00 on Sunday. Rossi on a Yamaha, Hayden and Edwards on Honda's. What's Biaggi riding this year? It'll be a great season! |

Well caboose, I'm starting to feel the pull as well... off my buell. I love the bike, but when I'm spending every day fixing it... it's tough to love. I'm giving it one last shot, it heads in the shop next week, and if the tuning/repairs don't last, I'm done with that wretch. Aside from being pulled over for my bike being "too loud" the boot for the carb split, and i had to walk home, that's two days in a row. Here's a peak at last weeks project...

I've always had a love / hate relationship with my X1. Nothing puts a bigger grin on my face than a problem free ride on my Buell. Mines not the fastest or best handling bike on the road, but the sound / feel and overall package just ooze fun. The other side of the coin is embarrassment and disappointment of an untrustworthy bike. Nothing worse than your Buell dropping a load in front of fellow bikers. Luckily it happened right in Clare's parking lot. Remember Brett? Wait a minute, there is worse. Like my bike craping out at TWO track days. This is starting to sound like a rant..... Jay out.... .....now, where's the keys to the Yamaha? |

Lornce, did you get your insurance sorted? How does your broker handle the multiple bike you own. I'm guessing that you only pay for personal accident benifits once, and then fire / theft / collision / specified perils for each bike? |

I'm planning a trip to Thunder Bay this June. I haven't hammered out any details but I'd like to take the Chi-Cheemaun from Tobermory to Manitulin Island, ride up / off Manitoulin to Espanola where we'ed spend the night. Next day carry on along HWY#17 to Thunder Bay. Might come back through Michigan to Sarnia??? Anyone interested in a lazy ride up north? |

I'll be doing bike stuff in the garage tomorrow if anyone wants to stop by for a bevvie and a yak. best, L |

For the Thunder Bay trip I'm planing on five days / four nights. Prolly spend the first night in Thessalon. Then head up the 129 to Chapleau, across to Wawa for night two. Day three we make it to Thunder Bay and start working our way back. I think I'll only be doing track days at Cayuga on the Buell this year. I'll be out for a ride today, maybe come by your place around noon. |

I finally had to hand back to keys to the GS, so I'm forced to work on the "war-horse". Lornce: I was able to get the bolts out for the exhaust, and found a good piece of rad hose for a new boot. I'll be putting everything back together tomorrow. John: I pulled out the sensor for the speedo, but there were no filings on it. Is there anything else I should check while the bike is "exposed" or is it just as easy to stop by your place once everything is together? Chris Oh - and thanks for coming by the other week, It was an nice change to have people who know what they are talking about give advice... |

Hi Chris; I will make up a speedo sensor and get it to you. Thinking about your rear tire: A BridgeStone front tire has 5/32" deep tread, while a rear has >9/32", also the rear is a dual compound - the center is of a harder rubber for wear. Almost immoral that they put a front tire on the rear. Which dealer was this? |

John, KW honda put the tire on the bike. Thanks for doing the sensor. The bike is on the road, and all fluids are staying in the bike! It's sounding good, for the first time in a long time. Well, I'm out, gotta get some riding in!
