well as some of you know, i hit the curb right around the corner of my house. I dont know what exactly made my bike do a freak acceleration, but i had 2 choices, hit a park car or curb..the curb is the cheaper and happen to be the safest thing. i was in the process of making a left hand turn so i had no choice of steering, that and the front wheel came off the ground im doing good, but unforutantly my bike isnt also i just went harley to see how much damage is buy the price and the parts i need to get so far add up to $1500..and yes i already called the insurance people.. pics will be up later as photobucket isnt uploading them... |

myron, i'm sorry to hear that the damages totaled up to so high. glad youre okay, and don't have to pay for anyone else's car to be fixed. Erik Buell Racing should be able so save you some coin with race take off parts. if they don't have a part you need listed on thier site, give them a call and see if they have one anyways. i saw a few un-sorted bins .... |

ok, finally photobucket wanted to agree, but here is the jist of the damage. Most of it was of course the front bracket, but im thinking my fork might have gotten twicked, im going to call insurance agian tomorrow to see when i am getting the est. done.. and no, this is not the way i wanted to get a 1125R..

The forks are tough to tweek. The may have just turned a little bit in the triple trees and threw your front tire alighnement off just a hair. I would check it to make sure before you go through with insurance. Glad to hear you are ok, when you heading to new Orleans. |

im letting the insurance deal with it, i dont have 1500 sitting around..let alone 250+ to just get the basic parts. i know it doesnt look like much, but both the headlight housing are cracked, the dash itself got hit, blinkers, peg, shifter, rim, and a new front tire. if the forks are still good thats fine, but the bracket for cluster and windscreen is like 150+ just by itself.. but thanks for the heads up on the forks im leaving town on the 24th. got to check in on the 27th. |

I am in Newport News area and have been looking for fellow Buell riders. I have an 1125r and usually ride with other bike riders from work. None of them own Buells. It would be cool to maybe meet up and ride with you guys sometime. |

Nice to meet you Russell... I'm in Hampton and always looking for a fellow Bueller... I may have seen you already. I always seem to see others when i'm driving not riding. (Sorta Murphy's law I guess) What kinda riding do you like to do? This bunch is always looking for the twisty sweepers which is hard to do around here, but we seem to manage. There's a couple of high speeders too, but we all know that usually leads up to something more trouble then it's worth. I guess as long as you're flexible and open minded you'll fit right in. |

WOW Matt... that's clear on the other side of the state! (Granted it's not a big a state as VA, but still!) I'm going to be in Ohio next Wednesday. Unfortunately I'll be in the Western part of the state or I'd check the roads out and give a report. |

Right now i have just been bonding with the bike. I just bought it in March and didn't start riding until April. The rear sprocket bearing blew out on me last week and I had to get that fixed. My 1125 is all black with side fairings. I took off the upper belt guard, the flap over the rear wheel and passenger peg arms. I also put a cowl over the rear seat. Everything on the body is blacked out. I like turns but I'm not at the point to where I am really comfortable hitting sharp turns that are long. Do you guys post stuff about your next ride on this site? |

wow... ok, who's got the part number for the wheel bearings? Looks like I lost one of mine sometime Saturday. I didn't realize it on the way to work this morning (cause i ride with headphones) but the lunch run threw up some serious red flags, when i left to go home I had to really investigate and yup, right rear wheel bearing is no longer with us. I guess 27K miles is all they're worth! bad part is, I had just dropped a personal not to Mr EB himself saying how trouble free the bike was... musta Jinxed myself. Damn |

e0005.02a8b for teh rear bearrings and teh spacer is g0323.02a8 if teh ball bearrings have fallen out, the outer race is almost impossible to remove. ... you can borrow my dremmel, but you buy teh bits. we treid to use a bearring puller from autozone, but were not sucessful. but once you get one out, the other can be knocked out with some pipe from the other side. |

it'd also help if several questionable characters did not stroll my street, observing me pack up my kids, dog and 2 bikes in the bed of my truck then fill the spaces in between with duffel bags. or pick up on any other SUBTLE clues that the house might be unattended for a length of time. i understand the idea of not providing the preverbial 'low-hanging fruit', But any one would not have intentionally left the porch light on and the front door wide open. the fact of it is that i simply do not recall double-checking the dead-bolt. -> i assume it wasn't i do however specifically recall making double-sure on the mini-man fort. lol ... -facepalm and sigh of regret- bottom line: if P-town's finest really want to take a password-protected laptop (and then get busted trying to pawn it), a walmart-special microwave and my kid's piggy banks (they must have been HARD-UP for the loot); then i don't think that a schladge or a kwikset is gonna do much more than make them angry. so here's to hoping it won't happen to us again or to anyone reading this. i'll put down the fiddle, now |
