Jaxson, The story I heard on the Ural was that a Russian spy broke into the German BMW plant and stole the drawings for the BMW motorcycle. Obviously he left in a hurry and didn't get all the pages. The one I worked on was supposed to be a 2003, but it looked like something from the 30's or 40's. Anytime I went on Purgatory it was after the snakes would have gone in for the winter. But talking to people that live up there, their everywhere. |

Nuts, I'm wide open after Monday. I know its hard on you for the afternoons but with these temps and sun I am pretty much relegated to indoors until 4:00 and even then we need to hit a road with shade. |

Got me a 2003 orange and black toy the other day as well. Can't ride it but it packs one hell of a bite. Somehow I think between the two of us I am less likely to see injury than yourself |

I appreciate all the sympathy for my well being but I have a dream... I'll be entering a Hare Scramble in the near future and my goals are simple: 1. don't get hurt 2. attempt in earnest to finish the race I have no illusions of grandeur; just a desire from childhood when I had pictures of dirtbikes hung on my bedroom wall. Pics soonish. NUTS |

Me and the Honda Fury fellow got in a nice 125 miles tonight after the blazing sun went down. I can't believe the high beam on the RoddyV. That thing is an engineering marvel and lights up not only the distant road but the sides as well. I dare say it would cause retinal damage to oncoming drivers if I forgot to switch to low beam . Poor guy went over a low spot and scraped both of his down tubes down to the bare metal. Knowing how that must feel I comforted him as best I could but I don't think it helped much. You guys think I'm anal, this dude wipes that bike down every single day! Good luck with the scramble Nuts! If it goes South maybe I can finally catch up with you over at RMH . Seriously man, be careful. Super easy to get sucked into things that are beyond your ability when the guys are egging you on. |

Tank, Sorry to hear about the Uly man but I am glad you walked away unscathed. I think we need a play by play of the details leading up to this event . If you make your way through the RV let me know. Keep in mind I can't ride until late afternoon during the heat but if your game then I'm willing. Charlie, Nuts has gone, well, NUTS! He should be along shortly to explain |

Wow! It has hair! There's this little traffic circle waaay out in the middle of nowhere. Went in a little hot, ran wide and was left with 2 choices... 1 lowside in the gravel on the edge and hit the curb sliding or, 2 stand the bike up and take the curb like a man, at 35mph, and launch the bike off the 12" berm right behind said curb into the field behind. I chose option 2. She was tore up, but I still rode it the 20mi home! Front tire gave up its last breath of air about halfway. |

Tank, Are you telling us you couldn't stick a 12in landing? Thats just sad right there . Nuts, Did you have to get new helmets so you'd have room for all that new hair? Thats a fine looking rig my good man. Want me to crash it for you so you can get that out of the way? You guys ain't gonna believe it but the RoddyV is about due for an oil change. Went for a ride this evening but the rrhoids were acting up so I came on home. I figured digging my anus while at a stoplight would kinda take away from the cool image. |

Charlie, the Austrian is a 2007 KTM XC 250f with a Virginia street title and tag. Also on tap is a Vapor computer, GPR steering stabilizer, Fastway brushguards, KTM skidplate and Baja Designs dual-sport kit. I've only ridden the thing in the yard for about 3 minutes and I can tell you it is a ready to race machine. Loud, fast and super plush. I've been invited to ride it over behind Todd's house and I'll give that a try in the near future. I keep telling myself it's only a 250, but it is most certainly a cpompetition 250 and it blows my mind thinking what a factory bike is like! Tank, your get-off seems a bit more dramatic than the little one I had the first time we met in Deals Gap. Remember that sliding stop? Glad you and the Uly turned out OK, might see you for the WV Rally. Jackie, just when I thought I was running out of names to call you you drop the rrhoid bomb. Look out! NUTS |

Jason, good looking bike........better be careful over at Todd's, he has a habit of baiting young'ns. Jaxson, sorry to hear about your condition, I'll make sure I always ride in front of you. I've heard if you wear a thong in hot weather you won't have that problem. Tank, sorry about your bike, glad your OK. After seeing what was behind door #2 and you could do it all over again....would you go door #1 or door #2? |

Jackie, in all sincerity...thanks for the advice on the Leatt Brace. I'm going to find a shop that has all the gear and ride over to try it on. Too bad there isn't any place local to do so. Tank, I'm seeing if I can get the time to go to the Buell Rally. Maybe I'll put the knobbies on the BMW before departure and show you a few fun roads along the way. Charlie, when the Katoom needs a new top end; can I count on you to help me put a big bore kit in? Maybe smaller bore would be better? NUTS |

If it takes him that long...hehe Torts, the 12" berm went UP behind the curb! We flew a solid 25-30 ft out into the field. Definitely not something I want to try again. |

Tank, Man you shoulda been able to stick that like Jeremy McGrath. Probably had plenty of time to do a heelclicker while you was up there . Seriously dude I am glad you are ok. Nuts, It does my heart good to know you decided you enjoyed an intact brain stem and spinal column. I never really got into messing with the Leatts but there was one incident where I was darn lucky to walk away considering I wasn't wearing one. I know its hard to imagine my tired ole' self pushing the envelope but I can tell you with certainty that the trail can be more dangerous than the street. Broken ribs, broken ankle, stitches, metal bar through the kneecap, concussions, and a wound that took over a year to heal because I refused the skin graft. Never take it lightly and wear the best protection you can get. |
