Went for a nice ride this morning.I covered 203 miles and back home before the heat and humidity could get me.I took the road Darren and Don found on our little ride. Then headed for 9 to Black Mountain, shot down 40 to 74a to hit the BRP.Headed south until parkway was closed off.Turned around and hit 74a to Chimney Rock.A pretty uneventful day until a black bear came running off a hill directly in front of me(couple car lengths).I slowed up to watch him scamper off through the woods.I have been waiting to see one up in the mountains, just not on the bike that close.Later. |

GRRRR took the bike in for clutch weeping and they said they have to rebuild the clutch what ever that means. So no 25r for a couple of weeks. I guess it is time to register the Harley and ride the slow lump for a little while. |

I'll do you one better 03fatboy, I was riding home from work today and heard a strange ticking. It was correlated with my speed. Figured it had something to do with my front brake piston that is sticking. I park my XB9R in the garage and walk down the driveway to check mail. As I'm walking back into the garage I see a silver round thing on my new rear tire. Yup, a roofing nail. Shhhhhhhhhh... Good news? I bought the road hazard protection from Cyclegear when I bought the tire. First time I bought the hazard protection. |

Who's the XB Lightning rider I have seen on I-77 near Exit 1 (SC end near Columbia) around 7:30 to 7:40 AM? I'm on either the yellow XB or the gold Kawasaki Concours. Forgive me if I have not waved back in time for you to see it. Traffic's kinda thick on my side. |

I passed a red Lightning on I-26 this week; he was eastbound somewhere around Orangeburg. Anybody here? |

Was it xb or x1? I've seen a red stripe x1 up on 17a recently |

It was definitely an XB with translucent red plastic. The guy was wearing a big back pack. This was west of I-95 so he may have just been passing through. |

I work in Bldg. 1614 at Shaw AFB, parked my 1125r next to a white and blue one today. Just curious if the rider is on this board? |

Probably not, but maybe you should introduce them to this board. We need to plan a ride, but I decided to ride today and dont think I would want to stay in the heat for a while. Unless I didn't have anywhere else to go because I surely would be drenched in sweat like it was starting to be after riding 30mins to work in the middle of the afternoon. |

I will try and catch him before he leaves work today and find out. I know what you mean I work 4-midnight, riding to work I am drenched but the ride home is worth it. We definitely need to get a ride together. |

Looking for a little help. Anyone here at Shaw AFB? My nephew just PCS'd there a couple of weeks ago and the starter on his car went out. He has no tools. I know this is a long shot. I'll probably be driving down early tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gary |

Matt- definitely going, I may truck it. I trucked the CR up to April Buell's Day and that worked out pretty well. The problem with riding to Suches is the first ~250 miles are boring as crap; the last 50 would probably be worth riding. |

SCBR's are welcome to drop a truck at my house in Greer when they want to truck-up to the winding ways. Even a grassed variable-depth embankment for easy loading & unloading. |

thanks for the offer, i might have to take you up on that, like hugh said, the first 250 miles are boring. Boring roads only seem to make the 97 tail worse it seems |

Recommendations requested: where to take my XB for dyno tuning? I've learned enough about d.i.y. ECM tuning. |

Recommendations requested: where to take my XB for dyno tuning? If you've got a few days to kill, take it to Erik Buell Racing. I have a feeling it'd be worth the trip. |

Got three issues with that suggestion, Hugh: location, location, location. : ) Is $250 a reasonable budget? |

i think 250 is the going rate for an hour on a dyno tuning it right? |

i am going by the Shallotte HD dealer today to get some parts from a friend of mine who operates their Dyna. I will ask him about the going rate and let y'all know. Also, was involved in a motorcycle accident this past weekend. Damn tourists are horrible drivers... why in the world would someone try to do a U-turn from the right hand lane of a 4-lane road? Atleast they were ticketed and listed at fault. Girlfriend was on the back and thrown off. We were both wearing all the gear, so only minor injuries (scratches, sore muscles, and such). Was able to keep the bike up by sacrificing my elbow against a Mini Van, but could have been much worse. Looks to be only cosmetic damage, but having it looked at today. |
