> Its leaking from the bottom of the cylinder. That's a big job, then. If it was just a rocker box cover or something, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. > I'll be at Vortex tonight. Anyone else? I'll be around the corner at Little 5 Pizza. |

Depending on when yall do it, I'd love to hang out and see the process, the internals, all that fun stuff. I assume you'd have to rotate the motor to get to it? |

What fluids do ya'll reccommend for an '06 9R for engine and primary/trans? I'd heard there's a specific transmission/primary oil from Harley that works really well, not sure which one though. And what weight rating is best for engine oil for this Blistering summer? The owners manual says SAE 60... I've never even SEEN oil that thick on the shelf. |

I'd run 20/50 in the engine and Formula+ in the primary/trans. |

Nice pic G. I am totally wiped out. Left work fri with the president of the company's sea doo and turbo Honda jet skis at 4(an hour late mind you) and headed to the Strom Thurmond resevoir. The family and I got there just in time for a massive thunderstorm with lot and lots of lightning and rain. Got camp set up, got a co workers boat in the water, then the jet ski's. Mike(my co worker) is really like my lost twin, we were out in the next t storm on the jet skis at 8:30 at night tearing it up lol! Wake up at 5:30 to get to Fort Gordon by 7 to start getting set up for the Adaptive Ski event that we were volunteering for. Get there a little late because Mike and I went back out on the skis for a morning run at 6, and mike lost the key to the sea doo when we stopped. Thankfully we found it. Spent more than 4 hours on the ski chasing handicapped(physical and mental) kids and adults on a water tube and a special water ski set up. Had a lifeguard on the back to jump out and assist if someone came out. Got to aid in a number of rescues, and got to see some of the biggest smiles I have ever seen in my life. Needless to say I did not use enough sunblock and pretty much match the red cups the park ranger told us to keep our booze in while a few co workers and us drank. Little Hayden absolutely loved camping and swimming, he even got to pilot the turbo Honda ski! He was dancing on the boat while I was playing in the wake behind and just really getting into the boat all together. Came into work at 7 this morning to a huge surprise of a massive work load and just now got home. Have a ton of work to do tomorrow to get ready for my trip to Bonita Springs Fl next week. Going to a convention where I will be selling our new company's services. Peachtree Prosthetic and Orthotic Fabricators LLC is the new company and I have been named Head of Orthotic fabrication! WOOOOOT!! So I got a lot on my plate, we also just leased a new 5000 sq ft warehouse we are moving into when I get back from Fl. Busy Busy summer. Had I never bought my Buell I would have never got the opportunity to get into the career I currently enjoy! Thanks Will! |

Does anyone have any tips for a first-timer on changing the oil/primary fluid? I'm certainly no stranger to wrenching, but Buells in particular are new to me. |

Use an old license plate to drain the oil on to avoid it hitting the muffler, same for the oil filter. With a small V bent in the long ways it will fit perfect. Other than that it is really straight forward. |

I left Atlanta for Colorado on the Uly today about 1:00 PM. The bike stranded me in AL about 3:30. I dismantled enough of the bike to discover that the throttle body butterfly shaft had snapped, then walked over to a Wendy's where I passed 6 hours waiting help to arrive. A friend from work rescued me with my truck at 10:00 PM, and I just got back home. This is the second vacation in a row my Ulysses has wrecked. I'm losing faith. |

Not much you can see unless you take the throttle body apart Odie. |

Well, filling the primary takes more than just the bottle, but other than that, everything went fine. I've been nervous to do anything beyond a pipe on the Buell because... It's my Buell, and I was terrified of messing something up. I feel like I've kinda popped my cherry now. One of the things I've looked forward to Most about having a Buell is that I wouldn't have to change much because it's a great package out of the box. After ALL the work I've had to do on the SV and the EX to get them where I want them, I've been really looking forward to a bike that just needs minor stuff like a pipe. IMO, the Buell is so good from the factory that you can setup the suspension, put a slightly louder pipe on it, and just Ride it. |

Damn Matt, that sucks. Charlie said he had a machined shaft made, I wonder if you could find something like that. I understand losing faith. My Beloved EX500 Streetfighter has been one headache after another lately, and I've wondered what it might be worth on the open market. Then I ride it, and I know that as much grief as she gives me, I could never bear selling her. |

TwinTalon - The primary takes a quart. No more. You don't want to over fill it. Matt - damn, that sucks, dude. |

Sorry to here about your Buell troubles Sanchez, I feel your pain. Shelley and I sat on the side of road twice in July of 07' and once in august always in full leathers on the way to TWO, nothing like spending a half of day waiting to get a ride. then broke down twice with in 10 miles of SMHD after picking my bike up from being worked on. SUCKS! But Dont loose faith, just change religions. ! Join me Sanchez to the dark side..... Charlie, Are we or better yet am I setting a new jumping record of the fiddy tomorrow? |
