OK OK OK . . .I know it's a little early, and I also know a bunch of us are planning on helping DaveS break in (read, frighten) his new employer on Saturday, 15 May, but Sunday, 16 May is the Road X Run . . . . .. for those not in the know, Road X is a great little road smack dab in the middle of the Kettle Morraine area, near Palmyra . . . . .. there's a nice little loop we can do, very entertaining, and not too terribly crowded with 4 wheelers, as the roads don't really go from anywhere to anywhere else . . .. . . . who's in? |

CJ -- just ride your own ride . . . . . btw, one of the rules when I lead a ride is that there are three places I need very experienced riders . . .. Point, Slack, and Drag -- Point -- first rider, should know the route (!), and be aware enough of the ride's least-experienced rider, so that the pace can be set appropriately Slack -- second rider, keeps the point man (woman)in sight, makes sure the group is keeping up (allowing the point rider to focus on the road, debris, constabulary), and ready to take over for the point rider, if necessary Drag -- last rider also should know (or be noddingly familiar with) the route .. makes sure no one gets let behind, any dropped, broken scoots (and their riders) are not lost, responsible for gathering up straglers -- actually, one of the most important slots in the group dividing up into several groups, according to skills/desire for speed is something that can always be done . . . .. . |

Speaking of Drag, the first round of the Hal's All-Harley drag series is next wednesday, Wednesday, WEDNESDAY at Union Grove! Anyone planning on going for season points should definately show. Its a lot of fun as anyone thats tried it can attest.....and a very safe form of racing as well. Its all Bracket racing so it doesn't matter if your on a Blast or a Pro-thunder bike. Blasts are actually very consistent which is what you need to win. Reaction time is the other key, and Women have better reaction times then men (although the actual reactions are not always pleasant.....), so no excuses from the Evil Uke's womens club! Any word on the Ukes track day? |
