Rocco and I have worked very hard on the Dinner and concert. I know that Steve and his group is presently wrapping there plans of the rides and Track day. There is also a bike night at Great Lakes Dragaway,a greet and meet at Ukes HD...they were very important to Erik start in the motorcycle industry. There is plans for the HD museum where Buell's will be on display. Like some land speed record bikes,Eslicks bike and various models through the years. I think there will be plenty to do. |

Is there like an schedule or rundown of events? Or am I just not finding it? So far I have Track day Thursday and Banquet/Concert Friday. It would really help me plan out my time in the area. |

Believe me when I say you are not the first to ask the above question |

I am just going to come right out and say it. I am rather disappointed in Erik Buell Racing's response to this whole event. What I figured would be the most involvement since H-D took over the Homecomings from BUELL has done a complete 180. Now I know Erik is off on a different path. I know he's more involved in racing and his music. But what I figured they'd use to their advantage as "free" advertisement doesn't seem to be happening. I asked them if they'd be interested in setting something up in their parking lot to display some bike and sell some Erik Buell Racing merchandise. Their CD. The only response I have gotten was "we haven't had time to talk about it yet." I don't see making money as an issue that needs to be discussed at great lengths. I know they're supposed to be at the track day......that's assuming the track day still happens. So the long answer to your question is....I don't know. I don't really know how much involvement Erik plans on having. I don't expect an answer this week or possibly even next week as the race weekend approaches. I can only guess they'll have more on their minds than Homecoming. I hope to get an answer one way or another. I just wish I had better news for all the Buell fans. If it's "NO", it won't be from a lack of trying on my part. |

Rocco, do not beat yourself up over this. You guys have done a fantastic job and I think this is going to be the best Homecoming to date. In my opinion this is a very minor deal and no where near a show stopper. I would rather they build, race and win rather than wasting their time talking to me. Frank |

Frank, We are not beating our selves up but coupled with other issues that we will get through. Its just something we figured we wouldn't have to ask for. Erik in no means is set up for a tour..... trust me. But something in the parking lot of a small caliber shouldn't be to difficult you'd think. If so a answer should't be a problem. Long story short Rocco and I have done our best and hope all enjoy them selves. |

>>>>If it's "NO", it won't be from a lack of trying on my part. Rocco: You've done fine. The folks at Erik Buell Racing are working from before sunrise until 10:00pm (you've read about the folks here getting calls at night and on weekends) to try to service the same number of Buell owners that well over 200 people at HD and Buell did before. In terms of logistics it is not possible to tour the place for several reasons starting with "simply can't fit that many folks inside" to the obvious fact that Erik Buell Racing does not have the insurances in place the HD may have had to accommodate a group in the parking lot. By the way . . it used to be BUELL's parking lot . . that's no longer the case. In addition . . the company, in addition to selling many more parts than they'd ever imaged MUST live and die racing . . imagine what would happen if Geoff May has a DNF this weekend? Poof. . . It's literally, at a burn rate of about what I make in a year per week, on a string attached to Erik's wallet at the moment . . It can work but everything needs to work perfect . . . and there is no Laura and her staff of 32 folks to plan and pull off events . . the folks, all 9 of them, are totally consumed with running the business and racing. It's got to be that way. I'm betting folks will understand and will also thank you for having the foresight to at least look into it. I'm thrilled . . knowing a bit about what's going on . . that Erik was willing and able to take the time to make the banquet and have the band play. Court |

By the way . . . I'd echo what Frank said . . you guys have done a spectacular job and I truly believe this will be the best Homecoming ever. Frankly I'm missed the "planned and pulled off by owners" Homecoming like we used to have 20 years ago. The HD events were nice but always had the antiseptic, CYA, sign the release corporate flavor to them. You guys have done a fabulous job and I can't wait to attend. . . this is about my 20th year.

If it doesn't happen it would be a shame. Fact of the matter is at this point we don't have anywhere enough riders signed up for the track day. It was supposed to be open to the general public on May 15th, but for whatever reason it hasn't been. (I am not part of the crew setting up or riding the track day so I don't know what the hold up is). Alpine will not allow us to sell anything on their property, so that leaves them out of the equation. Plus if there is a track day, not everyone will be attending, leaving them out of the loop as well. It's out of my hands now and I don't have time to pursue it anymore so it is what it is. |
