Well Everyone, I saw a Harley crash last night that was pretty entertaining. The wife and I are in the process of leaving the HyVee in Lees Summit last night, and we hear 2 Harleys revving their motors. so we look to the left, and see the Harleys tearing out of the parking lot at full speed. One of the riders was looking pretty sharp with his cigarette in his mouth as he is peeling out of the busy lot. The next thing you see is the guy with the cigarette losing control, and hitting an island in the parking lot. Afterward, the bike falls on the guys leg and he can't get up. Luckily, he still had the cigarette in his mouth!! At least he had that going for him. |

Yes five went and four returned...as far as I know and I have been accused of knowin' Jack, there are NO harley dealers in the united states that are open on Sundays as a matter of fact most are closed Sunday and Mondays...Of the five that went four were on BUELLs and one was on a bike that had two opposing cylinders that looked like to briggs and stratton motor that were chopped into and then grafted onto a homemade crankcase with one crankshaft..Now I am not gonna' talk about all the JB weld that that must of taken or the silver duct tape that was used and I did think putting BMW emblems pried off of a bmw car and attaching them with green masking tape was a little tacky or the windshield that was a window out of some poor guys house ,but hey the double pane glass and the sliding windows that could be raised up or down was kinda'cool and the window screen sure would help keeping the bug splatter of of you when you had the window up to get fresh air...he was number five of our group and he was mumbling something about trading it in on a 2002 X-1 they had on the showroom floor hope that worked out cause if not he had better spread some more JB weld on the seams of his homebuilt beemer as it was pukin' oil all the way to Columbia luckily he had a 5 gallon jug of oil strapped to his sissy bar but it did cause a few cars to slide off the rode on the way there, of course we all pretended we saw nothin' and kept right on goin'... |

Attention all KC Buellers!!!!!!!! (esp. Fuscat) I got my sling bag at Blue Springs Harley on Sat. It is really cool, and it seems to be a really high quality too. Call them and talk to Matt. I drove the XB12R (nice). Matt has a little 4 mile loop that he'll take you on that has some decent curves for the area. Don't worry, Matt keeps a good pace on his xb9s. Matt wants to promote the Buell brand harder and seems like a good guy. Take a non-Bueller friend with you. That's what I did. |

As most of you know, this weekend was busy for many of the Mobbers. We suffered a loss of freedom for an extended family member... Gravedigger got hitched. Let's all have a moment of silence for the lost soul. OK... that was long enough! Sam is MIA... having gone to St. Louis to be a witness to the lost of another free soul... I am concerned about Sam... worrying he might of drowned in a vat of Bodka! Or he might have had a vision of his future and went cliff diving over a dry lake. I have placed a APB out through my employer... being he is not a wanted person I had to come up with a reason for this to qualify for the system entry... so I listed him as wondering off from a mental institute... now think about this... knowing Sam... would anyone question such an entry? AND NOW FOR THE LOCAL NEWS Saturday a few of us make a pilgrimage of sort to the sacred Buell demo truck at Mid-America HD in Columbia, Missouri. The excursion was lead by our former Commander-in-Chief... Bill. Also in attendance was Derek... Richie... Keith... and me... if you count all my multiple personalities... we had a large group for the trip. While Keith and Richie dropped a chunk of money for the outrageous price they are charging for gasoline... Bill and Derek came to the Casa de Bankrupt to escort me to ye old Quicktrip to meet up with the rest of the group. Now here I have to interject some concerns I have about our former fearless leader. I am getting worried about Bill. I realize that starting a small business is very stressful... and the days are never long enough to do all the work stuff and any personal stuff... and you can almost forget about any recreational activities... so I was very happy to see Bill make the ride. HOWEVER... I think he may be beginning to crack under the pressure. And if anyone knows anything about cracking under pressure... it would be me! Excuse me for a moment... I see someone was silly enough to venture down the sidewalk outside my window... let me bounce a few rounds off the sidewalk... I wanna see how fast someone can run in a tight skirt and high heels. I'm back... I was laughing so hard I almost dropped my rifle out the window... you had to be here... anyway... what was I saying???? Oh yea... cracking under stress. I am worried about Bill. Have any of you seen the movie Gung Ho... about the Japanese company that bought a closed U.S. auto plant and began operations... or have seen documentaries about Japanese factory workers? First thing in the morning before they start work they do calisthenics and stretching exercises at the job site... lead by company officials. It is kinda bazaar... by U.S. standards... but look at how they dominate so many product sales world wide... so there must be something to it... WELL!!! As I am gearing up... Bill... who I am guessing has studied many things before taking the plunge... and striking out on his own... must have done a significant study on Japanese business practices. Because... Bill started doing Jumping Jacks... deep knee bends... twist and reach... and a whole series of exercises. Which was strange enough... but he kept insisting Derek join in. When Derek declined... Bill started shaking his head in disappointment and mumbling something in Japanese. Just as I finished gearing up... and was waiting for the BMW to warm up... Bill walks over to his bike... hops on... and opens his tank bag... and it is full of sand. He gets this miniature rake... and starts chanting and raking the sand in the tank bag... just when I thought I had seen everything... he pulled out a box of matches and lit some incense. After a few minutes... he extinguished the incense... put his cute little rake away... and bowed to the sand filled tank bag. By this time I am total in awe of what I had witnessed... so I walk over to Bill... and I think if I play along he will finish... and we can go. So... I figure if I bow to him... like he bowed to the zen sand... we can go. I noticed when he bowed... he put both hands together in front of him... so I figure I will do the same. There was just one problem... and that is what do I do with the cigar I have in my hand. I figure it would be disrespectful to keep it in my hands. So... I look around and I don't want to toss it in my back yard... then I realize the answer is right in front of me. So I shove my cigar deep into the sand in his tank bag... bow... zip his tank bag closed... and say... "OK Mitsubishi... let's go!" I coulda swore I saw smoke... but I am sure the cigar was deep in the zen sand... maybe it was coming out of Bills helmet. I don't ever remember seeing Bill with cigarettes... so I have no clue where the smoke would have come from. To continue with the observed bazaar behavior by Bill... we all know Bill is the king of rear wheel HP. Also that Bill's bike has two speeds. Stopped... and 90 MPH! Well... the entire trip to Columbia never exceeded 75 mph. Guys... it is so obvious... we need to act on Bill's behalf... and conduct an intervention. We may have to lure him to one of our houses with an air conditioning service call... but for me... what ever we need to do to save Bill is the right thing! Back to the trip... So here we are... four Buells and me on my BMW. Everyone kept changing lanes the entire trip... like they did not want to be seen with a guy on a BMW. I burnt out all four turn signal bulbs... from all the signaling for lane changes... but I always kept up... Ya gotta love those German engineers... that boxer engine can run! The biggest problem... once they started the Buells... I could not hear my BMW... and the thing is so smooth... I could not tell if it was running or not! Luckily... it has a tach... so I survived! Once there... upon finding out they had no clue about tank bags... there was a collective frown on our faces. As they say... there was good news... and bad news related to how Bill dealt with the added stress to his day. The good news was... they found some sling bags for us. The bad news... Bill took one of the apparel ladies hostage until the bags were "found"! Actually... it was all good news... because everything worked out. When the sales guy called 911 on the speaker phone we heard the entire call. Knowing that there would be a large crowd at the grand opening... the dealership got permits to close some adjoining streets. So... the police knew about the large attendance. Anyway... back to the call... the 911 call taker asked for a description of the "hostage taker"... so the sales man says... "He is a big guy wearing black leather pants... a t-shirt and a black leather jacket." The call taker laughed and said "You just described all the males in attendance of the grand opening" and hung up! About that time the bags were exchanged for the hostage... so no harm... no foul! It was kinda funny after that... we were treated like honored guests after that... getting special gifts... a grand tour of the Buell demo trailer... and the like. Anyway... I wanna think that the fact that everyone left to go back home while I was on my demo ride, leaving me behind... had to do with the hostage thing... and not because they did not again want to be seen with a guy on a BMW. Then on Sunday... we had our experienced rider course at the KCK Community College. But that is another story. Am I the only one who thought it was a little wrong to go to a safety class of motorcycle operation doing in excess of 115 mph the entire trip... and doing wheelies and burn outs as we pulled into the parking lot used for the course??? Yeah... probably!!! |

I am not MIA, just been working a lot and running aroung with mythical creatures like Frank(mechanic in tales of bygone era) I didn't make it to Keith and Heather's wedding, I hope it went well. congrats to the Bride and Groom. I wish you guys the best and will put a card (sympathy) in the mail for heather soon. I had a big chunk of my salary for the year tied up in a Job up in Nebraska these past weeks. Hopefully things will slow down a little soon. I did have the pleasure of squeezing in a Trackday yesterday at Mid-America with frank and a bunch of the guys from waterloo...GREAT time! I'm a little (2 sec) slower than my best of last year? but that will give me a pretty good target for this year (just to prove to myself I'm not getting Slower in my old age)! Speaking of WATERLOO....... BATTLETRAX Funday, April 25
