Wolfridgerider you need the class Is anybody going riding ? Dont spend so much time on the computer and get out and ride. I am ready anytime let me know i will go with you.
What a beautiful day today!! I took today off from work and took off on the bike with Lisa for a pleasant 4-hour trip around town (with lunch and a stop at Target). Rode a new road to us, 257 north of the zoo. Keep going until the road ends into 36/37 and it's an even better ride!
Weather was insanely perfect riding weather! Tomorrow looks to be a repeat! :-)
If anyone's interested in a nice riding route on the north side of Columbus, with plenty of curves here and there throughout, you might want to check out our route... http://trunc.it/6vff4
...just be sure to ride it in between any rush hour traffic. :-)
Last night I saw a white Firebolt pass by us in the other direction while we were in the SUV, heading north on Flint. It was getting dark so I couldn't tell who it was but I'm guessing Neil?
What a great day to be out! Headed for a ride again today!
Bruce, Next time keep going north on 257 turn right (east) on 37 then turn left(north onto 203. Go to Prospect turn downtown and then left again onto 257. You missed the best part!
I'm getting to know my bike more and more. Today was pretty productive. Changed my plugs to the NGK uridium's (only $6.99 each at Auto Zone), cleaned and re-oiled my K&N air filter, and then decided since I had the filter off I'd go ahead and do the breather bypass. No catch can, just a simple hose down to left side rear with a filter teed off of it and a plug in the end of the hose (I plan to unplug it and see what it collects at my next fill up in 100 miles). $25 worth of parts from AutoZone, a little time and tada!
I followed this exactly:
The bike started right up and kept running afterward - that's a change already! Usually it starts right up and then stalls out - it takes me two starts before it stays running. And then it idles rough about 50% of the time.
I even found a red filter so it matches nicely...although the chrome could go.
I'm really hopeful that either the plugs and/or the breather bypass will help my chugging/stalling.
Jim - I went up to 36/37, but next time I'll keep going like you suggested and check it out. Thanks!
Thanks! It's sitting in a pretty big open void next to the spring, so if I hit that puppy with the swing arm (it would actually be the oil dipstick/cap) I'm probably off-roading somewhere I shouldn't be on this bike. LOL
I zip tied everything into place, including the hose on both sides of the filter in order to keep it roughly in the same spot. Time will tell, but I've seen other installs in about the same spot without hearing about issues.
As of today... I am planning on leaving Wednesday, June 16Th in the morning. Vamp and Lemonchili will be with me so I am going to do whatever they want but my plan is to just drop the hammer and get there as quick as I can. We can meet at the Flying J on 70 and Wilson and head west from there. We will stop about every 120 miles or less due to the fuel range of the bike Vamp will be riding. (Mikef5000 lightning)
FYI from my experience those spark plugs may only lead you to trouble down the road... but let me know. We did a performance dyno run from stock HD plugs compared the screamin' eagle iridium splitfire design. Stock plugs actually gave out 2 more horses! Most of that stuff is gimmick.
BTW did anyone go to QSL, I bailed, was too tired and not wanting a wet night. made dinner plans with some friends instead. You guys knowhow close I live to there if any ever wants to meet up or chill someplace else when you are around.
Neil, Dennis & I were at QSL. Not a very big turnout. There was a sweet S1 Lightning in the parking lot and we met the owner, Dave, from Johnstown. We gave him the info to find the group. We left around nightfall so as to beat the rain.
Does anyone have any experience with Corbin seats? They seam awful pricey ($250). I am willing to drop the bucks though if there is a noticeable improvement. Just got back from Asheville, NC and the stock seat on the R is pretty rough.
