No deal Jaxson, I saw the whole deal go down. I wasn't more than 80 yds. away. When I got there he was shaking from head to toe.He doesn't fish here on his lunch hour anymore. |

I guarantee you Charlie I wouldn't run! If me and Nuts made it down there would you give us permission to fish the pond and get some photographs of said gator? I give you my word I won't try to catch him UNLESS you or Nuts dare me |

I'll be talking to the Nutster about that. Him and I have never had the opportunity to lake or pond fish together before or really fish for Largemouth. I'm thinking we come during the week and stay for two days in a nearby hotel. Fish/photographs for several hours in the afternoon and then maybe take you out for a steak dinner. Do I have to worry much about fire ants around the water or is it early enough in the year to avoid them? Are there any catfish in the pond? |

Jaxson, There's rumor that somebody put some catfish in the ponds, but I've never seen any. Plenty of large mouth and crappie. The eagles(1 pair)Osprey have been working the pond pretty strong for a couple of months now. Would love to have y'all come down. Wish I had room for y'all to stay here, but with my son and his family living with us now. There's no more room at the Inn. |

Jackie, looks like we're in for a good week. You should have got sufficient rain to clear the roads. That bike needs to be ridden, even if the rider has to shoehorn himself into his new jacket and melon-lid. Seriously, if you want I'll break it in for ya. Take it easy for the first 50 miles and return it to you at the end of the day with the odometer proudly displaying 500 miles and the rad lowers paint chipped to kingdom come. Whatcha say? |

Jaxson, Here's an idea.......go to Lowes and buy some plastic tubing, about 1" or so. Slit it and snap it over your bottom rails on the V-Rod and hit the roads.Problem solved. |

This week is the week boys. First stop Thursday will be RVHD to get the rough areas documented before I actually go on my little ride. From there its the 581/220 to 122 route as laid out earlier. What say you Nuts? Wanna make a parade or is that ride too tame for you? Charlie, I thought about getting that 3M sheeting and putting it all over the place but have come to grips that it ain't gonna be new forever. Besides in several years when the warranty runs out I can then get it tore down and go all out with the black and yellow theme to freshen it up |

Honkson, I am ready to go an even willing to carry your DSL on my bike so you can get some pics out in the wild. I need advanced warning of the day you'd like to go so I can get to the gym early and my other household chores done. Charlie, I think the old boy ought to consider spending the weekend over at Virginia Western with the other newbie's learning the controls of their owned but unridden HOG's. I'll see if I can talk him into practicing a full-tilt panic stop; give that new ABS system a try. I am an ABS believer now, though grabbing a handful of front brake and squeezing the lever to the grip is quite unnerving. But the bike actually stops without incident. You ought to give it a try sometime. NUTS |

Nuts, I'm too old to give up control to ABS. Plus I'd have to figure out how to get all those pucker marks out of my new Corbin. |

Nuts, Appreciate the company. Thursday will be the day. Departure approximately 1:00 to let it warm up. If you wanna change the times a bit let me know. I'm willing to be flexible in order to have a riding buddy. I called HD customer service on the advice of the dealer to get a case number so the stop should be quick. A few pics at RVHD and we should be on the way. I'm a little curious about the ABS as well Charlie. The idea of grabbing the brake with a death grip and having the wheel lock is terrifying. Guess its one of those things you gotta have faith that its gonna work as designed |

Honky, I'm in for Thursday. Also be on the lookout for a call from Roanoke County to verify I am the upstanding citizen I have admitted to being. They'll be calling your cell-phone and asking questions to see if I am the type of character they want at their swim pool this summer. That's right folks; NUTS is returning to the working fray. I gave it a good run, almost 2 years unemployed, but it's time to get back. I have some medium range goals and the first step is heading back into the sun and chlorine. I assure you the motorbike will not be neglected, though it will take over as commuter and I've already developed quite a backroad way of getting to work. |

As much as it pains me to say it, you are a fine citizen. In your short time here in Va. you have become quite polite and courteous. Charlie, Peter Pan grew up. I'll get you some pics on Thursday. We ain't the youngsters you left swinging in the breeze anymore. We've matured into responsible geezers |

Charlie, She's been officially ridden. All I can say is "WOW" what a comfy ride! Stopped in to say hi to Seth and then over to Nuts new digs. Finished up the inaugural ride by driving up roads that had stores with windows so I could see my coolness in the reflection |

Careful there Jaxson, going down Main St. look'n in the plate glass windows at yourself is a good way to rear end somebody. I guess it's a good thing you don't live in SC(no helmet law)Your front end rake would be totally vertical. |

Nuts, I'm out buddy. There is evidently still a bunch of salt residue all over the roads. I got home, took a long nap, and then checked the bike over. Low and behold there is the dreaded white powder all over the front, bottom and underneath the rear fender. Still gonna have to hit the dealer to let Doug take some pics but then its home for a thorough cleaning. Sorry to do it man but salt and aluminum is a recipe for a very unhappy turtlehugger. |

I think you should write a letter to the city, detailing your inability to ride, due to the pervasiveness of their salting activities. How dare they not take into account the spring-time activities of one of their residents! No sweat, I got the go-ahead to get a proper sized television; so I'll get that done today and then some riding until I meet the Mrs at the gym this evening. The weather is perfect and I'm not going to dally indoors. Charlie, why izzit everyone says I'm NUTS when the Turtlehugger seems like a more suitable candidate? |

Nuts, You know damn well your the one that hung that "handle"on yourself. And you'd be highly insulted if someone tried to steal it away. Although I do agree the "Turtlehugger" does on occasion appear to have a little conflict with reality.Just keep him away from those plate glass store fronts for his own safety. |

Are you guys trying to imply that I'm anal retentive? I'm deeply saddened that my friends would say such a thing . I didn't even make it to the shop today. I spent about 7 hours cleaning that mess off. I think I wasted my time though cause as I was finishing up the front of the radiator cover I wiped it with my finger and tasted it. It wasn't salty at all so I'm kinda confused as to what it was. That is assuming road salt would have a salty taste. Moral of this little story is lick it and taste it before you clean it I will say this thing is a pain in the rectum to clean properly. Lots of tough to reach shiny places and tightly packed doodads make getting my pudgy sausages in there dificult at best. Maybe Lance "Nuts" Armstrong wants to make some extra money on the side? What say you Nutsack? Oh and Charlie, Don't let him fool you. I snuck a look at the Beemer yesterday and he has went over that thing with a tootbrush and a box of Qtips. Made even my cleaning process look shabby. |

Nay, those are lies. The BM is rinsed weekly and has the big plastic pieces washed occasionally. You will see mud, clay, dirt and grit everywhere. How dare you accuse me of having a clean bike. I think I'll hire a lawyer and sue you for slander of the aggregious nature. I was just about to tell the tale of how I thought the Rod-V looked mighty tough rolling down the street in profile; but not now. Now, I'll remind everyone of the goon with black jacket, helmet, gloves and BROWN boots. Sheesh, c'mon how stylin can that look in the store window reflection? Atleast you were out riding. Maybe we can ge the proper ratio of riding to cleaning in the near future. As it stands, the turtlewax is getting a bit more attention. NUTS |

Hey boys! Took her back to the shop for photos to send to the factory. Got to meet Doug the service manager and he is an A plus kinda fella'. Super nice and helpful. Saw Seth as well and we are trying to put together a little herping trip in the very near future. He's a fine fella' as well and I look forward to getting to know him better and helping him get bit by a snake (non venomous of course). Ok guys you gotta sit down for this part. I then proceeded to hop on the bike and ride it without a snuff or water stop for 89 miles! Does that mean I can be a member of the Iron Butt Club ? Had to stop for gas as I got home and filled her up with 4.8 gallons of fresh 93 octane petrol. I feel like a real man today! |

Charlie, Had on my knee high hunting socks complete with 9volt battery should my feet get cold. Now that I'm a long distance rider I gotta take things such as getting cold feet into account. Nuts, As usual you gotta trample all over my milestone and try to best me. Can't believe you won't even let me bask in the spotlight for 24 hours . Be safe Honkus! |
