I would have been seeking further assistance had I not had my own parts book at home. At that point I just figured screw it, I'll look it up myself. Which I did, and proceeded to get them on order. Thanks for the heads up tho! |

Very cool Mark! Now you know, folks are going to start placing their orders soon...LOL btw - replaced my front tire tonight. Talk about a huge time difference. Let's see...about 8 hours for the rear, and only an hour for the front. Perhaps having the right tools on hand lent some help! :-) Iron Pony took more of my hard earned money then expected though. When I got back they weren't quite finished so I looked around for 10 minutes. I always check out the clearance section and lo and behold...I found a $500 leather jacket that FINALLY felt good...for only $150!! I just couldn't pass that up. Tomorrow I get to burn in my new tires! I'm thinking of just hitting the high school parking lot and doing a bunch of crazy eights...start out wide and work my way narrower and narrower. I've heard that's a pretty safe way to cut the tires in. Then hit the road and heat them up, and back to the parking lot for some more figure eights. Any other suggestions? |

That should work.... just take it easy for the first 50 miles or so and you should be good to go. |

Took the 05 City X out the other day, just around town. Kind of chilly, but totally worth it. So tired of being in a cage. Anyone who plans on riding north to the Mount Vernon area on the weekends, let me know. I will see if we can meet somewhere. |

I saw a translucent orange lightning on Riverside this afternoon. Who was that? And I saw Neil (I think) on Riverside a couple times yesterday! And my bike's always parked on riverside! (when I'm at work) I think riverside Drive should be also known as Buell Avenue! I think that road already has 15 names though. |

Where on Riverside is everyone being spotted? North or south of 270? I rode up and down Olentangy River Road (315) three times myself yesterday, wearing in my new tires - pretty much the closest road to me from Westerville with any curves. But hearing how many Buells keep getting spotted on Riverside, I think I'm going to have to make a loop out of Olentangy and Riverside on the north side of 270. Maybe something like Olentangy @23 south down to Hard Road, West on Hard over to Riverside, North on Riverside up to 42, then East on Bunty Station back to Olentangy...rinse and repeat.

I live in north Westerville near Maxtown and Sunbury...a quick ride over to New Albany. I usually ride north and/or west, hitting up Alum Creek, Olentangy River Rd, Powell and Polaris. But I could easily ride the other way out to the New Albany/Gahanna area. Have you found any decent/fun rides out that way? |

I'm living in Gahanna this week (house/dog sitting) left the car at home and just brought the Uly and the rain gear. I watch riverside drive down near downtown, at Grandview ave. My work overlooks it. Riverside is a great ride up north, From the Zoo (or Powell Rd) north all the way to 36/37. It changes names a few times, but if you just keep going straight the road gets smaller and curvier till it dead ends. It's 10 miles from the zoo to 36/37, then you can hang a right for a fairly sedate (but rural) 12 miles, you'll hit Farrow's Northstar |

Weeble, I have spent a lot of time in St. Louisville, Vanatta, and Newark. I imagine Wilkin's Corner is pretty fun to go through.I have the weekends off, and have about 6 weeks till I become a father. Then, my schedule may change a bit. He he he |

Circusninja, I worked a project in the Coshocton area last year. On the way home I'd run north up Rt60, west on Rt 541, then south on Rt 79 into Nerk. Excellent mental therapy after a hard day's work! The corner at Wilkin's store isn't bad, but the next one south of it has a blind driveway in the middle. Ask me about how I know some time! Sounds like we need to get together in the next few weeks. Congrats on the upcoming Daddy thingy! |

Just got back from track school at Barber Motorsports in Birmingham, AL. What a blast! I posted some pix of the Buells on display (4 of 10) in the Vintage Museum. If you're interested: http://mccarthymotorsports.blogspot.com/ If you've never been there it is WAY worth the trip. The museum curator gave the students in the class a tour of the basement restoration room too, so I got to see the bikes that were given by Buell to the museum. Very cool. |

Saw a black Blast at my daughter's track meet tonight, over at Genoa Middle School. I stuck around for a few minutes on my own bike (was running late from work and had to meet the family there) but no one showed any interest. I left a card on the seat. Maybe we'll hear from someone new shortly. Or was it anyone from our group already? On another note -- going to swap my plugs out this weekend. I'm hoping it helps with the chugging/coughing/stalling I get from time to time when initially warming up. I'm going with the NGK Iridium's - DCPR9-EIX. They're just $7 over at Auto Zone. |

Thanks for the reminder Mark -- I won't forget now that I have it from changing my tires. :-) Advanced Rider Course - SportBike All - like last year, the ARC class is still being held as a pilot class in Ohio. There are just a few classes this year, and they're all coming up quick. Masa and I took the class last year (at different times) and I considered it to be an excellent course for just $25. It's mainly being held 3x over Memorial Day Weekend. If anyone is interested, here is the information I received about it...I'm considering going again myself (trying to take some king of course every year). Hi, Bruce - The ARC-ST is still being considered a "pilot" course in Ohio, so it is extremely limited this year at ODPS in Columbus and at the MSF Campus in Troy. The Columbus offerings are over Memorial Day weekend - one class each day on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (May 29, 30, and 31). There is 1 opening (as of 11.05p on 3/31/10) for the only other Columbus class - Sunday, April 18th. The Columbus classes are scheduled from 8a-5p and include an hour for lunch. There are currently 8 openings for the class in Troy on Sunday, May 9th. That class is scehduled from 9a-5p. To register on-line ( https://www.dps.state.oh.us/MOScheduling/MO_Ohio.a spx ), select Franklin County (for Columbus) or Miami County (for Troy). The ARC-ST classes are listed as ERC classes, but will have either "ARC-ST format" or *Advance RiderCourse* in the description. I hope we'll be able to expand the number of classes and sites next year (2011 season), but that remains to be seen. Thanks for your interest in the course, and if there are any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Michelle |
