sounds like i may be out of the homecoming fun this year. my sister has decided she needs to get married(against my better judgment) on the 19th of june(and expects me to be a groomsman). its not till 4 that afternoon. i said ok, i can still be gone the 16,17,18th and head back early sat morning. be back hours before the wedding. i would miss the weekend fun but would be there friday still atleast. she said if i wasnt there for the dinner rehearsal friday night then i wouldnt be in the wedding. i said ive been in far to many weddings, including my own and am pretty sure i know how to walk down an isle. i said, do you really think i need to be at the church for that half hour we run through the walkin/walk out, and to eat supper. i know how to walk and i can eat anywhere. she said i have to be there or else. i said well thats your decision to make... but i told you what i could do... and i reminded her of how well it always works out for people when they tell me i "HAVE" to do something and have left it at that. piss me the f off. i dont necessarily want to be in it anyway because i dont really care for him, he's always given me some sketchy vibs and usually my intuition proves right, but it is my sister so its a dilema. grr hell, she waited months to even tell me she was engaged, even though i knew she was getting engaged before she did. i wasnt even invited to the suprise gathering when he asked her to marry him, although some of my friends he barely knows were. We might have an informal gig in Hartford. A few of us together with some of the "locals" on tues or wed nite... but only if it doesn't interfere with SCHEDULED homecoming events. |

Well, my work situation changed and I have to be back earlier than planned. I will have to leave Saturday morning to get back in time to be at work on Monday. Oh, well. At least I can still come and now I plan to get there a day earlier and watch the trackday. I'm really looking forward to this, I just wish I didn't have to leave Saturday morning. Oh well, see you all there. |

Buell Homecoming in the great state of Wisconsin, around the middle of June.... Sounds like a helluva good time with some good folks. I'm just musing over the thought of a 2K mile roundtrip on my Blast. I'm pretty rugged myself, and I am curious just how rugged the bike is. I've read about some of you makin 3,000 mile trips on a Buell Blast. It's gonna come down to how much change I can round up. I would hate to miss EB & the Thunderbolts. |

Truthnexile; My daughter rode her Blast out to the 25th with my wife and I. The bike ran 70 - 75 MPH for hours at a time and gave us no trouble at all. Just keep an eye on the oil, as it tends to use some at those speeds. Oh; the trip was from Massachusetts to Wisconsin and back. Mileage was something like 3100 miles in all. |

Hey Crusty. Is your daughter still riding that Blast? Figured by now she would have upgraded! The whole gang making it out to the 27th this year? |

Massachusettes to Wisconsin, ha- call me impressed. That sounds like a blast so to speak. Yeah they do use some oil, and it's hard to keep an accurate eye on the level. Any truth to the notion that the 2000 P3 is full of defects that were "corrected" in later years, defects other than the sprocket? I've enjoyed all the miles I put on mine but concluded a while ago its a good bike to own if you like workin on them. |

Ian; Terri and I will be at Homecoming; then we're riding out to Oregon. Andrea will be working; she can't afford to take three weeks off; she needs the money for school. She's still riding the Blast; she likes it and has no desire to move on. David; my wife's first Blast was a 2000 model. It was pretty much trouble free for 15,000 miles when we sold it. The guy who bought it kept it for a couple of years, then he sold it. The third owner was pretty happy with it, last we heard. The second Blast (the one our daughter is now riding) has been equally reliable. It did snap an exhaust stud after the Homecoming trip, but that's pretty much it for trouble. It's got almost 12,000 miles on it now. |

www.motoridershop.com not promoting them, but if you're in the Kenosha, WI for Homecoming or any other time, this place is worth checking out. The photo's on their site do it no justice. The have a HUGE collection of rare Bimota's MV's, Ducati's and just added a CR to the collection. One guy owns all the bikes. Worth the effort to visit. |
