I'm done for a while...with Easter, a work deal I'm heading of to Vegas for (YIPPEE!), and no good rubber on the ride, it'll be tough for me to get out...ever! I don't have it as easy as you young single guys or you more experienced riders. (See how politically correct I was? I didn't call you OLD!) I'll be dreaming and keeping up with you all and hope to be on two wheels soon!-------------B

So your going to RIDE to Lost Wages right? Let me know when you are ready to swap tires. If I can swing it I will drive down for some BBQ , bring my stands and tools and pull the wheels so you can run them over to a sportbike place to get the tires mounted, then put them back on. See if we can save you a few bucks.

Hey Art, we need to figure out the roads around here for some morning jaunts.

Brian,
We'll take pics to rub in your face of all the fun we're having, that you can't have. <poor guy>
I want to do the SALT River again, bring back memories of watching David doing his dance on the XB. : )

Wycked,
I already know the roads up there, lived there for 8 yrs, rode them on the Honda and the Buell.
Go up to Bartlett lake, past Carefree, or zip up 89th ave over the little mountain to Deer Valley.
Another good putt is the road out to Tortilla Flats, head out US60 to Idaho, (apache Junction) and head north. Nice road on the weekdays, full of Harleys on the weekends. Nice bar at the end of the pavement.

Has anyone in Phoenix heard from Carey since he sold his S2? It's been since November since I've seen him post on the badweb

Just for the record, I am still in Phoenix. And I still ride. But I don't ride far with a nail in the rear tire!! But hey, it still holds air!

And after this month, I won't be riding at all...weird. Haven't been without a bike since...forever (or '75, whichever comes first)!

It's no good to wickenburg, but if you go a bit further on up to Prescott it gets a bit better. After that you could head up 89A through Jerome and then down the 17... I'll start looking around for a good route up here. Whoever wants to can stay at my place for the night (I've got two couches AND an extra room w/ a bed...) if anyone wants to make a long run on a Sunday and needs to stay in Prescott Saturday night (or any other day for that matter).

None of it is as good as that Canyon run we did north of Globe though.

Yea,
past Wickenburg, to Congress, and then north over Yarnell Pass to Prescott, that IS a nice road too. That would be a nice day ride if you throw in hwy 260 from Camp Verde down to Payson, and then down the Beeline to Fountain Hills. All nice roads.

M1Combat, I'll be taking you up on that offer after I move to Phoenix. I'm officially giving my notice at work today, 21April will be my last day at Slimfast. I still haven't accepted any job offers yet, still holding out for that one with the big $$$. But I should be living in Phoenix by the end of the month...

BRIAN,
Thanks for the Buelltiful weather, got in some decent ride time today. I'm gonna need new rubber on the S2 by the time you get yours back on the road, LOL.

Quilting? The only patchwork you need is a patch of asphalt!!!

Bart, looking forward to you being a little closer, and I agree, waking up the Phoenix crowd and me getting off my duff and getting out there is in order!

Charlie, how do you like your Jardine? I've found a site that'll sell it around $215. I thought it was a pretty good deal, but I remember you having some kind of mounting issue. Did you ever get that resolved? Are you running it with a race ECM or K&N? I currently have just the K&N and 12 airbox lid. Ping me and give me your $.02 if you got a chance. Thanks!------B

It's official, gave my notice last night.
Starting the "new" job in Phoenix the 10th of May.

I may be hitting some of you up for help in the moving duties if you have the time. I'll be moving a bunch of stuff and one of my bikes this weekend to my storage in Casa Grande, and then moving to Phoenix the week of the 26th.

Brian,

The Jardine's fit and finnish can't be beat. Not by anything I've seen yet for the XB's. The sound is wonderful! I love it. The performance on the bottom is lacking but after 3K watch out! I have to agree with Bubba that the Drummer has better #'s across the board, but it depends on your style of riding... If you spend most of your time above 3K riding like a bat outta hell, you'll have no problem with the Jardine. If your bike is a daily driver, you'll wish it had more bottom end. Repeated stop lights etc...

The mounting prob is working out although slowly. The problem is, this is Jardines first experience with the animal known as Buell. The original chin fairing mounts were aluminum and Jardine underestimated how much vibration our monsters produce. Consequently we've broken two mounts and ruined a chin fairing when it fell down onto the headers and melted.

Response from Jardine was quick, they sent out a replacement mount with a T-shirt. Of little consequence now that I'm down 1 chin fairing. They have remanufactured the left side mount in steel but the right one is the one that breaks??? I've E-mailed them this week to find out the deal on the right side. Steel or no steel.

The company is new to us so I wouldn't say this ordeal has turned me off to them. The product itself is great. The re-engineering of the chin fairing bracket sucked. If you do buy the Jardine, I'd just be sure to contact them for the steel replacement mounts.

Oh, and I'm just running the pipe, all else is stock.

Charles

Wycked,

Surprisingly, I didn't. I stayed in the house and attended to my wife. Had to properly thank her for buying me a motorcycle and all... Oui Oui!

For those of you that are wondering what the hell I'm fondling (besides my lovely wife...), I bought Wycked's 9R yesterday. I'm extremely excited that my wife and I will be able to ride together soon. We'll be going up to Phoenix to burn some asphalt with you all before long.

Murphy strikes again! I go to order my parts and the parts guy here in Yuma has taken the day off today. I can't win...

Not that the parts would ship right away with Easter and all, but still, I would have the peace of knowing they were in the puter and on their way...

So, I called Brian at Tilley and am going to get a Badweb discount so it worked out anyway... PERSEVERANCE!
