I went on the Memorial Ride this morning and was sad to see only one other Buell there. It was a red X1. I'm not sure who it was. I thought this was a motorcycle club? Doesn't seem to be too many riders in it though. I realize people have other things going on, the weather wasn't the best, but I was just disappointed. Spoke with some super nice HOG members, made some new friends, but felt kind of like an outsider. I know I'm new to the Club and all, but if this is how rides are going to be, this may have been my last. I hope you all prove me wrong this riding season. I'd like to get more involved, but it's hard to be excited about something when no one else is! I will be submitting a few rides really soon, and hope I'm not the only one on them. You all seem like nice people ( some a little more than others ) but I hope we can make this a GREAT season. I plan on doing this for a LONG time. BUT, it's no fun alone. Peace and hair grease!!!

Come on now Rocket give it a chance. Some of us haven't even got there bikes out of storage yet.The weather kinda sucked and if you didn't see alot of bikes there then it wasn't like past years where there were many.Let it warm some more and it will get better.

Hey, I'm not trying to criticize anyone.Just disappointed. Believe me I KNOW the weather sucked. I know people have work and stuff. There was a least 200 bikes though. Hopefully things will improve. I do look forward to riding with you all.

Honestly never been on the memorial ride other then somewhat knowing the large attendence of HD's.Is it a BUELL cup of Tea type of thing????Rocket if you have some ride ideas, thats exactly what we need from all of the members. That way there is something going all the time.If you want to go cool....If not .....cool.I'm looking forward to riding with ya Rock. You and I are the only 12's in the club. With the Bring it Home event coming up in June it will be busy. Also we need to get up to Appleton To see Daves,May 15th,I'm hoping to do that one but not sure just yet,but planning all at the same time

Rocket, there is a big difference between the HOG chapter..they will ride in just about any weather..and the Brag chapter. I have been a member of Kenosha HOG for about 6 years now & we ride year round.

Rocket

My wife and I were out riding, but, truth to tell, a tour of ex-motorcycle dealership locations isn't quite my cup of tea . . . not slamming Uke's in any way, btw.

I agree whole-heartedly with the generally disappointing lack of turnout at rides, but this one's description just didn't move me . . .

one of the other differences between hog chapters and Brag chapters is that of 5% of a hog chapoter shows up, ya got 50 riders or so . . .if 5% of a Brag chapter shows, well, you were there as the chapter's 5% (grin)

make plans now the the Slimey Crud, Prairie du Chien and Road X runs, brother . . . . .. what generally happens at these is 2 or three bikes from 2 or 3 chapters hook up for a day of great riding . . . ..

I'm in for the Slimey Crud Run, provided I can get off of work. I work two out of three weekends but occasionally I can get a day off here and there.

As for the HOG runs, I'm just not sure that I want to ride a sportbike around a bunch of cruisers, but if it helps the club I'm willing to at least give it a shot. I think it would be better to pick and choose a couple HOG rides and try to get a good turn out for them rather than try and make all the HOG rides and all the BRAG rides.

I do have to admit I have never ridden my bike in February and I haven't ridden it on black ice, other than that I have pretty much done it. Rain, sleet, snow, dark of night... Jan 01 12:00:30 this year I was goin to a second party via the buell, I care very little about the weather so long as enough of the traction is there and the salt isn't it's all good.

Is it a BUELL cup of Tea type of thing????

What exactly is a Buell cup of tea? Dont all riders have the same aspirations? What do Buell riders do that HOG riders dont? And dont even give me that lame "twistys" crap. I know some folks on Sportys & FXR's that will have no problem handling any twistys you can throw at them.

From the typical postings here it sounds like a Buell cup of tea is hanging out at the Brat Stop & drinking....if that doesnt fall right in line with the old tired cliche of what HD's are all about, then I dont know what does.

From the typical postings here....

I like my life just the way it is, whether it's hanging out at the Brat Stop drinking, riding my Buell when the weather suits me, not riding it when I choose, or doing whatever I'm doing !!!

I'm a Buell rider, I may not be the type of Buell rider you feel I should be, but none the less I am !!

If your happy Dyna why don't you let others be what they are without coming across as criticizing them, or expecting as if anyone owe's you an explanation of what/who they are ??!!!

Geeezzzzz !!! CJ

CJ...why the bitching? I wasnt criticizing anything, merely pointing out that while Buell riders claim to be "riders" they are no different than HD riders in that they enjoy the company of others & enjoy hanging out at "social clubs" as much as the next person.

Maybe Bill was right.

I don't know they are similar yet not quite, I mean Harley guys seem more like dogs, you know, go in big packs and stuff, where as Bueller's are like cats more solitary and smaller groups, but at the end of the day you can find them both sitting in the middle of somewhere licking their crotch or eating something hoping it will stay down the second time around.

Wait, that didn't come out right.

I wondered where the hell you all were this weekend: D

You have to teach me about this crotch licking thing, could have saved me a lot of dating $$$ in the past.

Ok , I’m back. Log day after a longer weekend.
God save me from the “HONEY DO” list.

I see an awful lot of advice. And I thank you.

So who knows a good shop that can modify my frame and not my wallet? I would prefer close to home so if I want, I can stick my nose where it don’t belong more often than wanted. I would like to keep my dollars local. Also if a weld fails I don’t have far to go to complain.

Dana ? Why do I have to worry about buying from Uke’s?

If I have to explain you wouldnt understand: D

Hmmm, why not ask the folks who belong to the Ukes brag club but bought their bikes from Dave in Iowa. Course youy might just get the song & dance around act.

Straight answer is...they will treat you all good to your face but you wont get any killer deal. And if you do happen to have some problems, dont expect them to back you at all.

Dont believe me if you dont want to, but ask the Director & his wife of the Kenosha HOG chapter..both bought their bikes from other dealers because of the attitude that Keith was displaying. Ask members of the local HOG chapter as well as the members who defected to Racine HD over the issue.
