NOOOO.....argh! Well, it's paid for and insured, but I can't pick it up until Jan 2. : ( I'll have to convince my buddy to bring back another Buell.
That's a great site, I've drooled on it before. There's another one I know about...I have the link somewhere...I'll post it up when I find it!

I GOT IT!!!! WOO HOO!!!

My buddy and I went down to Vegas this last weekend and there she was, all ready for me. It was a beautiful day so we went for a short ride. Man-o-man, what a great bike!!! Super comfy, very intuitive steering, insane power...LOVE IT! Picked her up with 5 mi on the clock but put her on the trailer with 99! I couldn't get that last mile in there. Oh well...COME ON SPRING!!!

If I can figure out how to post pix I'll get some up here.

Oh, my buddy found a great leftover ZX-14 with a $9K sticker on it...he started to deal on it and the stupid dealer somehow wound up adding over $3K to the price. So no bike for him, yet...

Ok, lets try this...

Scarrrlet!

Scarrrlet 2

I've got new grips on order (stock are crap). Now I'm looking for a good "tank" protector and contemplating doing an exhaust mod...any ideas???

No suggestions from me, looks great, did you get that from the Henderson dealer?

Kerri, lovin' that red with the black frame. Congratulations on your great ride. I can't comment on the tank protectors or exhaust as I did both my self. Tank cover is just some nice black leatherette siliconed on so its only semi permanent.
Fabbed my own exhaust but there are many options out there from about $400.00 to $2400.00 for the Buell race unit. I like the Drummer but its also about $1000.00 I believe and its only a slip on muffler and head pipe. Many threads on BadWeb on whats available. As proven the stocker is hard to beat unless you want a little more sound or just race. Check mine out here:
"www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/499 065.html?1254151206"

As you, I am also waiting anxiously for spring. I try and get a short warm-up ride in during the winter but as you know the roads are not good enough for me right now. Looking forward to riding together this coming year, should be fun having another 1125 along. Maybe also a north side, south side ride with Mike, Brandon and others. Stay safe and enjoy your new baby, Bob

Pretty quiet here. Anybody around? Probably like most I have cabin fever and "summertime dreamin" Waiting for a little warmer weather to change oil and detail the bike. Also getting all the fishing gear ready for soft water. And watching all the Daytona Sportbike races I taped this last year. Buell winning the first race at Daytona was very special! Getting pumped! Brandon, Mike, Kerri? Whata' doin to pass time? Bob

Hey Bob, just got back from a trip to northish Idaho and into Washington, stopped in at High Desert HD and almost bought an XB.

Still might, in the mean time I'm working on some heated grips for the Cyclone. My wife bought me a kit from S.L. Motorsports a couple winters ago... I think I've got it figured out.

Sure was nice to see the sky here when we got back, nothing but fog and smog when we left Friday!

Mike, looks like we're the only ones right now staying somewhat active. Those heated grips are gonna shine if we can ever get these roads clear. Almost happened yesterday but here we go again. First day of spring is still 60 days away but first long ride for me can come at any time.

What kind of XB you looking at and any interest in an 1125?; they are going really cheap until they're gone. I do love the tubers though. I would still have my M2 but could not afford to keep both and I found after a year it was sitting most of the time as I preferred the 1125. Bob

I love the CR's and very nearly bought one, but it just didn't happen. I think the R's look amazing with the full fairing kit, but, they just don't fit the bill for a second motorcycle that the wife may end up riding some day. She needs some practice on a less dangerous bike until she's got more experience.

I will hopefully be getting a STT, they had a black one with Erik's signature on in that my wife liked, had S plastics on it with standard front fender. I really like the stock white STT though. I always thought they were over priced, but they are marked way down now.

I do know what you mean about having two bikes around, so I'm trying to get one that's different in purpose from what I'm riding now.
Maybe I should just try the hand guards on my M2, I just don't think they'll match the bike's styling.

I've been keeping a low profile. Two days after thanksgiving I rode a 2nd to 3rd gear wheelie in front of Layton's finest. Still sorting out the legal issues. Also not in the best of moods, as the nearest dealer is in Pocatello. Kinda hard to get the warranty work done. I called South Valley last week and they won't do anything for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the firebolt, but am having some serious regrets about buying the Lightning. I'm almost considering draining the fluids and just sticking it in the living room. Anyway, I'm looking forward to fair weather (pending the judges decision).

Brandon, kinda thought you were just staying "low profile". Sorry to hear about your dilemma and hope all comes out well. We've all done something like that. Two years ago I was in a group bust up at the overlook on Monte. Got a 53 in a 40, $80.00 ticket, on radar coming out of that last turn. Bummer, but a couple got the over 15 over the limit that cost them over $300.00. Hope it does not hit you too bad.

On the service I thought Mike has said that S.L. HD is doing service on our Buells. Maybe they could handle warranty work for you. I think you'll probably be doing all else. Let me know if I can help.

Looking forward to doing some riding with you this coming year. Stay safe, Bob

I saw them pinned on the map someone put up here for service centers; but when I was in for the take-off parts sale today I asked the service manager, he said they were not able to do any warranty work, but will do standard stuff that any shop could do.

Sorry for passing on bad info initially guys.

Brandon, I feel for you, I got a ticket for 14 over in WA last weekend and it's costing me $144. I was driving through these curvy roads thinking of how cool they'd be on my bike.

I'm looking at $580 and possible SR22 insurance. They wrote it up as a reckless, which is one step below attempted vehicular manslaughter. Should be fun. I'll take whatever comes though. Question for all... Where do you do your tire changes? Cyclegear is cheap but they are famous for scratching rims. I am also tired of driving to Draper to have it done. I changed the tire on the 12R twice last season and the 12SCG will need another befoe I can ride (if it'll run).

Wright's in Salt Lake (3474 S. State St.) gives a decent price on installation and tires.

That sucks on the ticket, he must have been in a bad mood or something. That is usually written as an exhibition of speed ticket.

Brandon, thats a real bummer but as you said, you'll take it. Improvise, adapt, overcome or something like that. Remember?

On the tire changes; I don't know exactly what you had in mind but I bring my mounted tire/rim only, off the bike, along with a new tire usually from a trusted internet discount tire company, to Carey's here in Riverdale. They change and balance it for $25.00 if I remember it correctly. Its a Yamaha dealer mostly but have good mechanics and run by a motorcycle family I have personally known for 25 years. I leave it and usually pick it up later in the day. I also get my inspections there and they love my Buell.

Those 3 words will forever be etched in my mind (along with some others). I haven't been to Carey's in a few years. Had a bad experience with them. I suppose I could give them another shot.

So Bob, How's Levi doing? Is he liking it all so far?

Hey guys...sorry, was outta town on business. Had a fleeting thought of going for a short (very) ride today just because it was like 40 degrees, but I didn't want to chip the ice out of the driveway. Sigh...oh well...

Brandon, sorry to hear about your legal troubles! That sucks!

I haven't had anything done at Carey's, but the few times I've been in there just to look around, they've been very friendly even after they found out what kind of bikes I have. I'd definitely try them. GSHD is out for tire changes...they charged me $120-something (fees, labor, shop supplies, etc) to change the tires on my V-Rod and I even had the wheels off the bike for them...ridiculous.

Kerri, I've been having similar thoughts also, but like you I'm still a little wary about the streets, black ice, etc. My favorite warm-up ride is South Weber drive to the canyon and back. A nice little slow twisty(40 mph) but it always seems to have some water and dirt running off across it when the melt is on. Makes it a little apprehensive coming around a turn to see that! Hope that red beauty is ready to go at any time. Try to keep that battery on a tender. Worst thing the ECM likes to see is low voltage to work with for inputs from sensors, especially after sitting for a while. Ask me how I know. Just a little FWIW. Looking forward to some riding, hopefully soon. Stay safe, Bob

Went skiing today...nice weather! Guess as long as there's snow, I might as well enjoy it! : )

I'm still here, alive and riding, just once though. Went to get the bike inspected Tuesday and did a run down I84 to try out EBR's new race ECM. Chilly at 60+. Pretty substantial difference in fueling. Not lean anymore and responsivness was highly impressive to say the least. I do believe its what all our bikes have needed no matter what year. It even helped more with my own muffler system and K&N air cleaner. My old '02 M2 really showed a difference with the race ECM also with the same system. Spring is right around the corner. All I need to do now is change oil and clean up the Buellcati. Stay safe guys, Bob

Bob, do you know if they make those for the XB's too? Maybe a new module would fix the fueling issues on Brandon's other bike.

Nightmare, I just got my handguards, heater elements and switchgear mounted up last night. Still need to do the wiring though.
Had to drill the bar to accept the new switch gear, I was a little tense cutting into my expensive bars but it worked out okay. Once we are consistently in the mid 30's at night I'll start riding to work again

I thought the handguards would look okay, but they are fugly (in this application). Oh well, I can remove them when it gets warmer, the lines just don't match my bike because of the bars I'm using.

Mike, below is a link to EBR and in their electrical parts section they surely do have a race ECM for the tubers. Brandon also asked me earlier about this so he is aware of it and said he might get one. I believe you have one on your tuber as I did and they really do work.

I do not envy you riding to work in those temps. but I applaud your enthusiasm. The heated gear and handguard should help though. Stay safe until we ride together this year. Bob

Bob, I've got the pro-series ignition module on my bike, didn't notice any improvement when I installed it. I still have my stock unit somewhere, maybe I'll switch them up this year and see what happens. I think I need to rebuild my carb and shim up the needle as many have suggested, then I can leave the tuber alone engine wise. Except for the oil drips I keep fixing and fixing again. Shoulda stuck with the old leaky lines, the new ones are worse
