does anyone know the exact name and part number for the manual i would need to do most maint on my 2009 lightning xb9sx cityx. i am trying to order one from ebay or amazon and see if it is less than at the dealership. thanks |

Christopher- I'm pretty sure this is what you want: Buell 2009 XB Models Service Manual #99490-09Y
You can order it from one of the Badweb sponsor dealers with a 10% discount.
It's also not a bad idea to get the separate electrical manual: BUELL 2009 XB ELECTRICAL DIAG MANUAL #99493-09Y
and the parts book: 2009 BUELL XB MODELS PARTS MANUAL 99574-09Y XB12 XB9
Sometimes the parts manual is a big help in figuring out how things go together, and it's helpful for double-checking the dealer when you order parts or trying to buy a part off of ebay. |

Hey Guys,
So I'm sitting in my tent thinking about coming home to ride and all the work I want to do on my new 09XB12Ss. I've read about all I can find and have come to the conclusion that the Drummer, Open Airbox, and K&N Filter, will fit the best for what I want from the bike. It looks like, however, that the ECM will need to be reprogrammed. Any idea if there is anyone locally that can do this? I have no clue when it comes to fuel injection. On my Mustang I told a guy what mods I did to the engine and he sent me a pre-programmed box tuner to plug into the car to remap the ECU. Anything easy like that for the Buell? Three more weeks, I hope it is a warm winter! |

Joel- I understand that Mike (the main Buell tech at Lowcountry) has a 2009 (?) XB9Sx and he was looking into what it would take to tweak his ECM. He posts on here occasionally; you might try and get in touch with him. If anybody in the Charleston area knows it'll probably be him. |

Hi all, just got word from my dear Uncle Sam that I'll be moving down to Charleston this upcoming summer. My wife and I are considering buying a house in Summerville-ish area due to the great prices. Any areas we should avoid?
I look forward to being able to meet and ride with some of you guys in the June/July time frame.

Sweet! ive been wanting to see that sporty. Theres not a lot of bad areas in Summerville, i personally would avoid north charleston although theres supposed to be some nice areas down there. |

Take it easy on North Charleston now! We may be the bastard step child of the Lowcountry but we are making huge changes. I've been in the Park Circle area for 10 years now and wouldn't trade it. Central to everything in the area, decent home prices, less traffic congestion, and close to the Buell dealer! The only drawback is our schools still suck. However we have both the Arts and Academic magnet schools in the circle. For new houses in the area check out www.oakterracepreservesc.com I hear there are some Buell owners in the area! Oh, and ignore the "high crime rate". It's exclusive to certain areas. N. Charleston is safe if you aren't a drug dealer. Assuming you're at the Naval Weapons Station its only 10-15 minutes to work. If you're downtown at the Coast Guard station it's no more than 20 minutes and there are several back roads to avoid the interstate. |
