We are reserving two group campsites for Tuesday June 15 through Sunday June 20. We will have a maximum of forty spaces available. COST: The park will charge $14.50 per night per "unit". That means per tent/ per pop up. They will collect the money so bring cash... I will not be handling cash myself then... which is a good thing I think! ELECTRIC: Not available at this campsite. Please look at other links to see if others have electric! SHOWER: Available at the beach house. Swimming available, subject to condition of the lake. Sometimes they get closed because of e coli bacteria. WATER: Available at well head by pump. Bring containers if possible. If not Wal Mart is 20 minutes away to buy a cube container if need be. QUIET: After 10 pm is quiet time. CURFEW: None... but be mindfull of others when riding into the park after 10 PM. WEATHER: Please strongly consider a backup plan if we have severe thunderstorms... or hail... MORE: PM me and I will do my best to get answers to your questions. my friend kyle said that he just bought his ticket (hopefully he did, b/c i've been bugging him to buy it for a while now), he's going to come up with me, and he'll be camping with me so you could add him to the list if you'd like, we'd prolly just share a tent and what not, but he'll be on the camping list as well |

I just got off the phone with Waukesha County and have more details for everyone. The non-refundable reservation fee is covered by me and Jason. That was $43 and we will each pay half. You can buy us each a cheeseburger if you'd like. ALCOHOL: Not allowed. County Campsite Policy. Also anyone who has possession of any illegal substances will be asked to leave immediately. Sorry to be a hard ass about this, but we want it to be fun for everyone regardless of age... FIREWOOD: Must be bought at campsight for $5.50 a bundle due to Emerald Ash Borer regs. Again, sorry, but I can't do anything about that one either. PETS: Allowed on a leash but strongly discouraged. CHILDREN: No problem. Just let me know how many. Sounds like no fun, eh, it will be fun!!! Just want to stay in good standing with the park as we are down under the "Buell Group" name. (Message edited by Whatever on January 08, 2010) |

Update. I have a new job as of Feb 16th. Today I got the ok from my boss to have off June 16th and 17th which is Wednesday and Thursday... Friday is off as we work 4 ten hour shifts. I will not be available to help people check in on June 15th as I should arrive by noon on the 16th... however, the park is reserved for the evening of the 15th... the park personnel will be collecting fees, which I do not think is a problem. I will get off work at 5:30 PM on Tuesday and will be available by cell phone after that. I will send more details on directions and which campsites we are on soon. I am the only person coordinating this effort now so please e-mail me or post if you have concerns! ThanksCharlotte |

Dale and I did a quick recon of the campground yesterday... I have to say that the area is gorgeous... nice green rolling hills... the camping sites we have are past the lake, up a knoll and at the top of the ridge... very secluded and spacious... Due to work demands my ETA is around 10 AM on Thursday June 17th. No worries... just pay the rangers at the front gate... there is a 5 buck a day park entrance fee... not sure if we can get that waived or not... would make the total per day at $22.50... hope that is ok... |

Char, I cannot tell from the web site but it looks like only tents and popups are allowed. I have a slide-in camper (in the bed of the truck)... Is this correct, only popups and tents???? Frank |

Frank-The other campground Country View has hookups and water. Several people have already made reservations there. They have plenty of sites available as of last Thursday. |

Thanks, I stayed there last year with Andy, Joe, Kim, RD and others and will do so again this year. Now if I can just figure out when I am arriving at the place I buying the camper from I will be all set.... I may swing by Mukwonago to make sure Char is staying out of trouble. If that is possible... |

Frank, just talked to the parks department and a slide-in camper is ok... although it sounds naughty to me... you are welcome to stay... I am sure some of us will go hang out at country view for fun too or vice versa... |

I will be arriving at the campground solo on Wednesday afternoon/evening. One thing I hope I may be able to impose on others for help is space in a cooler. I will likely buy my food and drink items at the nearby Walmart after I arrive. This is my first long distance, camping by motorcycle trip so I'm sure I will forget something. Does anyone know how bad the bugs will be? Is Deet a necessity? |

Jody, Bring DEET, sunscreen and a swimsuit. There is a Walmart approximately 15 miles from there... I know I will not be able to fit a cooler on the bike... and Frank will have a camper for only Friday and Saturday... The food kinda is a "fend for yourself" situation at this point... the original plans fell through for the food person to help who lives a few miles from there... You could also try hitting "reply all" to my last e-mail I sent and seeing if any one responds. If all else fails, you could probably unpack and then pickup a small styrofoam cooler and ice at the Walmart... not really sure how that would work on your CR though... My big project this weekend is fitting all the stuff on the bike. I have a small camp stove and will bring a coffee pot and some Starbucks... Sorry I can't be more help... |

The styro cooler idea sounds good, we may be able to get someone with 4 wheels to help us out and just share it. We'll have to build a fire, even if it is hot and muggy out. Maybe buy some hot dogs and grill 'em good. |

Fire is a must. However Wisconsin DNR (Department of Natural Resources) prohibits getting firewood from any distance. Something about the emerlad ash borer spreading I think... kills big trees quick. I will check into it today and call the campground, but I think it may be a little pricey... 10 bucks a small bundle... When you leaving Colorado Jody? You are welcome to crash here (about an hour from the campground) on your way if we get rain next week... I think you got my cell #... maybe I will give you a ring this weekend... |

Ok. The 14.50 per night covers all fees for camping. You pay at the END of your stay apparently. And firewood is available on site. 5 bucks a bundle. So it is all good... |

>>>> And firewood is available on site. 5 bucks a bundle In theory . . . if you brought nails and had enough bundles . . you could build a small cabin, right? Is something like this allowed? |
