Only 23 made. We have a black one being shipped. Has new blinker lighting, comfort kit, and highly sought after 3-bearing rear wheel. BWB sponsor High Country Buell. We prefer to sell it local (Colorado or Wyoming) to keep our parts and our master service techs Buell-centric. Call me or PM me. ~jammer 720.881.3712 |

2009 XB12XP is on the sales floor now. Hand guards on order, seems Police have lighting options they choose from so they do not come with the bike. |

Does the one you have left have the three bearing rear wheel or was that a 2010 only deal.... Is the seat height of the XP the same as the X or the XT? The details are no longer on the Buell site so sorry for the question Dave. Frank |

A Police XB12XP is every bit a XB12X in frame, heavier wheels, clearance, front fender (beak), seat height, etc. It has some added embosses on some bracketry to enable siren & PA mounting. As for the rear wheel, we have seen no documentation to suggest it was a mid-year running change to the 2010 3-bearing system and not having a 2010 on the floor to compare it to, they look similar to the ones on a certain used XB12R that we have. The only way to be sure is to pull the wheel off and look inside at the bearing assembly. I can do that for you Frank, jut not today. Hopefully I can just check my 2010 and see an obvious difference. ~jammer |

Dave, do not worry about it. I think I read somewhere the rear wheel upgrade was 2010 only and I guess I can save a lot of money just buying the updated parts. Of course if the XP is the same as the X then no need to buy another 2009 Uly. Hell, I am not sure I am keeping this one. It might be gone in the spring or summer. Frank |

>>>the rear wheel upgrade was 2010 only That is accurate. The ONLY difference in the X and the XP is the law enforcement kit. You can see the entire kit in the Frederick auction that's currently running. Wiring harness is different (has stuff you don't need) and there is a frame member that is different to include 2 (don't trust my word, I don't have the drawings with me) bosses to mount the siren speaker. The ONLY change you need is the 2010 wheel which is an interesting story in it's own right . . . Say it with me now . . . "remind me to tell you sometime.". Save your money . . . buy the wheel. |

Yes, the frame member is different, I do remember talking to the engineer at Buell (last Homecoming) about that member as I wanted to mount a speaker there instead of were I had it mounted (he told me it would be easier to buy a XP than to modify a regular X. No big deal as I have another idea in the works. Thanks Court and Dave for the info. Dave, when are we going riding? If you cannot go to Homecoming there will be a regional Buell rally in NM that I know you will have a great time. It will be in Red River, NM sometime in Aug.... Frank |

Frank, it you need diagrams and photos of the X & XP let me know. It's basically the same frame member, the diagonal on the right falling from front to rear with 2 mounting bosses attached. |

Court, thank you for the offer but I think I will get detailed pictures next time I am up to visit Jammer. I really do not need much of an excuse to head to High Country HD/Buell.... |

Riding? I have two days off next week, it might hit 45. I am going to try full court press (no punn intended Court) on the dealership to get out. Can't be sure till we're closer to the date. I imagine a last minute add will be able to find a floor space somewhere? I have a Buell book I need autographed... NM rally, that could happen regardless of, in addition to Homecoming. I plan on a ride to Taos this spring, something I manage once or twice a year since first done on Joules, the 2007 Uly. |

Court: Say it with me now . . . "I am reminding you to tell me sometime." I just recalled a poster, or photo montage I think you pulled together a month or two ago. Did that ever get to print and is it available? |

Dave, Lynn and I used to go to the Taos area at least once a year as well until we discovered Gateway Colorado. http://www.gatewaycanyons.com/ |

Oh you dog. This looks fantastic. It even beats hitting Menasa, CO again, home of legendary heavy weight champion, the Menasa Mauler, Jack Dempsey. You can never do that too many times. |

Frank, I really liked Gateway this past summer. A buddy of mine is now the GM at a resort over in Moab, about due west of Gateway. http://www.sorrelriver.com/ |

Court, Thank you for the pictures. They make me want a XP even more LOL. I have a dilemma. I would really like to be able to mount a siren on my Uly. However, I do not want to buy a new bike. I think I like the idea of a XP more than anything. Dave, thanks for taking the time to go over what the two bikes look like. I did not realize the XB series parts book covered all XB bikes and it just so happens I have (read that Lynn has) a 2009 XB12Scg book. I looked up the difference in the parts and what I found is this; although there is only one W bracket assembly (#22) listed for all bikes the XP one has tabs to mount the siren support bracket. I do not know if I want to weld anything onto a critical piece just to have a siren. (yet)
It looks like it is number 22 which if I read that right is the same one for all models.
This picture clearly shows the tabs for the siren mount bracket.
I know what i want to do but I do not think Lynn wants a Uly for Valentines day anyway. (She likes her XB12Scg too much) |

You could check into the flat behind the grill head unit that Motorola makes for the Crown Vic. Check also Federal Signal. Motorola maxs out at 130w, Federal Signal goes to 200w. I've got an entire Motorola MaraTrac 100w UHF 99ch drawer unit, head, siren, controller and PA if you really want to go crazy. |
