Hey Tq Freak, we should be there by 11am. Come out and meet and ride some!! Thanks for the advice too!! Just planning to enjoy the scene!! If anyone wants to meet up in Columbia, the time is 9am at Cycle Gear on St. Andrews rd. exit. Address is 817 St. Andrews Rd. It is right near the IHOP and Kroger/Chic-fil-a between the two stoplights. We will be leaving for Landrum exit within about 10-15mins to meet up with others there. I know of about 4 bikes from Columbia to attend so far. Give a buzz here if you want us to wait or be there early!!! |

one more thing. it takes me about 20 to 30 min to get to I-26. how long does it take to get to landrum, the actual meet up point. i see the actual ride is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. i just want to be able to plan. |

Demarsico, the total ride time from columbia to mountains and back will be roughly 7hrs including a short lunch and maybe longer if we get a wild hair. We will probably be back by dark. It should take about 1hr 45mins to get to the Landrum exit. 105 miles going by exit numbers it is exit 1. I will be at cycle gear by 9:10 for sure because I am meeting one rider closer to my house but will be there asap! Leave your place at about 8:30 and wait at cycle gear and 3 more bikes will show up to meet up and ride in a group to meet a few more. |

Just make sure to keep warm. It is going to be about 61 degrees up there and 65 around home. We will take breaks if needed. Plus Lunch is a break to. You should be fine. I have never taken a backpack while riding that long. If its light, then it should be no problem. I personally dont take anything like that with me. I just stop if I get thirsty or need a break. But feel free to take what you think you will need. See you in the morning. Think positive! You will make the entire ride! |

WOW what a ride!!!!!!!! Kinda long but no bad luck. It went smooth and we missed a few turns, but was awesome. A little chilly this morning, but was well worth it. Maybe next time we will have more to show. There were a total of 5 bikes that showed up. 3 from columbia and 1 from greenville area, and one(xbslim) from the riding area. From what you guys are saying about TTHD, I need to stay away from temptation area!! |

Hey Scott, since you have said that about the coastal ride, there is something that I have been wanting to do. It is not curvy, but it should be scenic. I would like to ride on hwy 17 from Myrtle Beach to Charleston. Thats something me and my friends talked about when we all got bikes, but I am tired of waiting for them to get them one. Maybe that could be a possibility for a day ride...we will see!!! |

Francis Marion Nat'l. Forest? Amazed to hear of a Black Bear visiting North Myrtle Beach neighborhoods year or so past. I wanna ride through some bear country, too. : ) |

Francis Marion Nat'l. Forest? There are actually some pretty cool paved roads in Francis Marion. I head up there every once in a while on a weekend and tool around for a few hours. Besides the paved roads, there are lots of good gravel forest service roads (nothing a street bike couldn't handle, but probably more fun on a Uly). Might be a good place for the next Buell gathering. |
