>>>Court be sure to give me a call if you make it into town. I have something for you. Actually I have a note on my calendar to make a special trip out to visit you. I owe you a big thanks for your service to our country. I was thrilled to read about you participating in this years ride. Let's find a day to have lunch . . . I have a surplus MRE we can share.

Court, I'll pass on the MRE, but if you want to come down and have Clems for lunch that would be great. |

Well that was a GREAT weekend ride for sure! Jon and Sue, thanks for your hospitality. I am truly appreciative and really enjoyed being in your company. Dan, thanks for causing this to happen, it was great seeing you again and the shop is a happening program that is looking at a 'brite' future for sure. Joe and Kim, thanks for leading me South on my way out. You made it possible for me to get to my family's impromptu get together Sunday afternoon and evening. Sandy rode the last fifty miles home with me from there. A nice way to finish a trip. My trip totaled 1404 miles including a night at Ken's house where he helped me get FL/R/S into my past. Thanks Ken! I'm not thinking too straight yet because the meds are not quite worn off from spending Monday in the hospital. It seems I got home just in time to pass a kidney stone in the early am. I was there with Sandy when our children were born, this was not the same as a woman giving birth. It was more like nine months of pregnancy and then giving birth, all in a three hour span. I don't recommend it, not even for sport. It has exited the body and all is going to be well with a little recovery time. Thanks again everyone! It is always good to meet some more BadWeB Buellers! |

Vern, glad to hear your feeling better. I know I never want the experience of having a kidney stone! |

Vern, I feel for ya. I've had stones waaay too many times. The last was on a trip to Colorado.....on a plane.....in the window seat..... at night. Court, looking forward to meeting/riding with you again. You'll have to stop in the shop and see my new toy! |

Damn Vern...glad you made it home before the stone decided it was time to get outta Dodge! Everyone - Kim and I had a great time on the ride, even though it was a little more aggressive than I (or my Uly, which ate its 77 connector at some point, as shown by a decreasing V reading on the ol' Kuryakyn meter starting around 11pm...and an HOUR from home!) had expected. 103mph on the GPS...and it only showed 94.5 when we met up with the group (reset before we left my driveway). Hmmmm.... We made it home; the Uly is fixed (77 replaced with screw terminal connectors, back to 14.3V at idle); Kim survived her first 400 mile day; we had a great time; the roads were awesome and the route was great. My sincere apologies - again - for making the group wait up for us. I can only assume my tardiness is what made the ride so...enthusiastic Still though - a great time and nobody down. Win-win. Can't wait to see as many folks as possible at Homecoming. Court - if you're headed to Altoona for breakfast...come another 2 hours down and have lunch If you're *really* nice, I'll make sure I'm working and you can have lunch with Kim, and not have to deal with me! |

Glad to hear that it worked out, and thanks again for opening your home to us. The food was great and the ride was just as good. I will be sure to put it on my calendar for next year. Thanks again! Ryan |

I will be sure to put it on my calendar for next year. Speaking of next year.... There were more comments to keep the ride over the Memorial Day weekend than move it, so...mark your calendars for Memorial day weekend 2011! Check this thread in late July/middle of August, maybe we'll do an autumn ride this year. (I hate typing "fall" ride, just doesn't go well with motorcycles ) August is out for me, so is Labor Day weekend. Anyone have any thoughts for the Sept 11th, 18th, or 25th? We could do it on 9/11, the Flight 93 Memorial is about an hours ride (slabbing, but lots of back roads to get there) from my shop, but I'm sure it would be crazy busy there that day. |

I liked Memorial Day weekend because we were able to make the trip and still be back for some friends and family cookouts Sunday and Monday. The only suggestion I have is a few sightseeing stops along the way(link at the boat party spot along the way). It looked like a nice spot to do some sightseeing. |

Dan, a 9/11 ride would be pretty neat. We should put our heads together and get something rolling. |

I stopped by the Flight 93 memorial on the way home from the Res. Ride. The one way in was closed making it a one way in/out deal. It looks like they have finally started moving dirt for permanent memorial. |

I talked it over with XB9er and I think tentatively we are going to aim for Sept 18th to ride to the Flight 93 Memorial site and other roads in that area. Trying to get anywhere close to the Memorial on Sept 11 is going to be crazy, so why complicate things.... Pace will be a little slower as I'm not as familiar with those roads. If you get a chance check out Rt 26 south of Everett, PA. Might have to work that route into the ride There's a "Roadkill Cafe" just across the PA/MD border. I'll have to see if I can get an exact address/location. Feel free to chime in on your thoughts. As of this posting, nothing is set in stone and can be changed. |

If this is still a go. It doesn't look like I'll be able to make anything in Sept. Working 7-twelves for most of the month is going to put crimp into my riding time. Bob |
