There are 4 days the whole next year that I cannot take off. June 19-20 and July 24-25. Im free the other 361 days. Somehow I just knew this would happen. |

Without mentioning you all by name, I want to thank all of those involved in making this event happen and tell you that you're doing one hell of a job already. I attended my first BCT meeting last night at Hal's and walked away wondering just what the hell I've been doing for the past 26 years(bought my first Buell, an 1125R, this August)! There's a real "family" feel to this whole group of owners, and I'm damn proud to be a part of it. Either of the 2 date choices work for me. I'm a government worker and that being the oxymoron that it is, I can pretty much get off work whenever I want.

Uh, hey, would it be possible to have a little redneck celebration during the week. Maybe, like, uh, smashing and burning an old wrecked Harley? Charge a dollar a whack and have a group of Buell riders circle around it before sitting it on fire and do burnouts to pour the carbon on top of the bike? |

Understanding your frustration with HD I feel the same. Thing is we don't need the negative feedback from what it could bring to us. Its best we do what Buell's do best. We all would like to keep this ball rolling year after year. (Message edited by bads1 on November 13, 2009) |

I don't think we should destroy a Harley but I would like to get over a hundred Buells and ride downtown around the Harley-Davidson offices about three times to show them that they can't keep Buell riders down! It would have to be done legally or else it would be a failure. But at least it would get some attention from the former mothership. |

Ok folks, let's hold on here. No one has set a date in stone yet! As a matter of fact, if we plan on doing a Track Day at Blackhawk Farms, the week of the 10th would work better for the Track. I spoke with them today and since there is already a Track Day scheduled for the 9th it would make things easier and possibly less expensive. Also, if we have an overwhelming response and need a second day on Thursday the 10th it would be easier to do. Besides, I thought we decided at the meeting on Wednesday that we would gather all information possible and then decide on the date based on what the "community" response was. I'm not seeing that here. BudC |

then alpine valley is off the table as they have a scheduled event that weekend. pricing for other hotels, as Dana and I have found, is averaging over $100 per night. For getting a good price, we need to know sooner rather than later when this will happen. Hotels are already booking for this coming Summer. I don't think anyone set a date. I believe I asked which dates work better for people, and Dana pointed out that Alpine is open the week of the 16th-20th, but not available the 9th-13th. We also need to know exactly how many are actually going to do a track day as a better price for accommodations is more important to me as opposed to 20 people doing a track day, but raising the cost of lodging for all. Just my 2 cents. I guess I'll hold off looking for a place to stay until a date is set, as all the hotels and banquet facilities want to know a date before they give out prices. |

Bud, There has not been a definate date yet. We need to get approval for Alpine first. In which she has to talk to the powers that be at Alpine. But if we are going to keep this as close to East Troy and have a Banquet... Erik and Band. They are indeed the only option within minutes of East Troy. We were under the impression that this should be kept as close as possible to East Troy ???? I have another option for a banguet hall but Hotel/motel arrangements we don't without scadering people everywhere. Lets see what Alpine has to say for us before we get ahead of our selves. |

and I was appointed the "decider" by Blake and Court!! Kidding aside, believe me. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes. Just putting the info out there for people to see. Being that I live within an hours ride of any of the events, it doesn't matter to me when this happens. BUT, I do know that others need a "heads up" in time to plan for this event. I believe the most important thing is to get a place big enough to house all that want to stay at the "Host Hotel". Whatever dates are decided on work for me. And even though it's 7 months away, we need to get a date set and plan around it. |

I vote for Alpine Valley and skip the track day. I'm not going to do a track day anyway! Besides the later in the month, the better weather. Didn't we learn anything from last year? |

I see buellhomecoming.com is still available as a domain name? Guess the site is a no go now? Once the "powers that be" figure out what's going on, then we can go forward. I'll check back in a week or so, Later |

Count me as another vote for Alpine over the track day (if we need to choose one or the other). Keeping costs as affordable as possible for the whole group (accommodations, etc.) seems to make sense to me. |

I would vote for the 16th through 20th over a track day! I would also like to be close to East Troy. I would also like to say that I would be down for some sort of event at Hal's. It is a rare thing to have a dealership as dedicated as Hal's to Buell. If people want a pig roast, on Saturday afternoon wouldn't Hal's be a great place to have such an event. I don't see why a banquet and pig roast wouldn't be possible. Just my humble opinions. |

I really want to do a track day, but the 16 - 20th works better on my calendar. Thanks to all who have been working on this. I enjoyed the 10/26 event and want to get to know you all better. Be sure to post any areas where help is needed. I am close, have hauling equipment and a large shop/manufacturing plant. |

I apologize for not getting the website up yet. I've been swamped with work(And I feel dirty doin' it... It's for HD, but it pays the bills). no apologies needed! work is work and it pays the bills which is very important these days! I'm interested to see what the web site is going to look like. as far as 2010 homecoming, I'm going to be there no mater what day it's held. It's going to be a fun time because people who really care about the Buell Motorcycles are the ones that are doing the planning this time and that should make it all that much better. |

****Something to remember about scheduling anything for Saturday; Some people may have to travel 1 1/2 to 2 days to get there and the same to get back.... SO Sat and Sun MIGHT be travel days for more than a few folks.**** The dates aren't that important, and the weather is not a problem. I will still ride and still hang with my fellow Buellers regardless of the weather. |

I hear ya. Trying on this end, but we're in limbo right now. Will post as soon as I know something. Again, Alpine Valley is the least expensive place to stay. Believe me. I've looked at all the hotels near East Troy and have been floored at the room rates. Anywhere between $100 and $210 PER NIGHT!! Sorry. This ain't New York or Chicago. Still waiting to hear back from our contact at Alpine Valley, then let the others know what they said and go from there I guess. |
