I, as do many others, appreciate the work y'all are putting into this. I have never been to a Homecoming or even been to Wisconsin, but if I am able, I'll be at this one. Please keep up the good work and I am looking forward to meeting all of y'all. |

the whole fathers Day thing came up during the meeting. But we really need to try and hit a happy medium. Earlier in the moth, and you risk some pretty crappy weather. I think last years Homecoming was a prime example. The 9th-13th works great due to a track day already scheduled for the 9th. However, space will be limited due to it being open to anyone. The end of the month runs into the July 4th Holiday, which most here seem to want to avoid. I guess we need to decide between the 9th-13th or 16th-20th. Majority rule type thing. Really makes no difference to me. We also, however need to find out when and if the dates conflict with something already planned at Alpine Valley. I guess that's where Bads1 and I come in. As far as the banquet is concerned, I don;t think there was any other option other than a buffet style dinner because as some stated, that's usually the less expensive route. All this is in the pre-plan stage right now. Although I really think a date is an absolute must to get pinned down and soon. I'll start a unofficial count now. If you want 9th-13th or 16th-20th, post here. I'm sure Steve will come up with a better method soon. |

getting East Troy to declare "buell day" would set the stage for all Homecomings for the next 200 years. think of the $$$ it would bring into their town! GREAT IDEA. |

Neither set of dates makes a difference to me, but I'll vote for the 16-20 in hopes of better weather. |

As pointed out, create a website dedicated to the event. On the site have an order form and allow for quantities to be entered (for example 2 for husband and wife). For example: Dinner & Gratuity $25 x 1 Commemorative T-Shirt @ $15 x 2 Indicate t-shirt size: XL, L, M, Sm Sponsor-an-Elf $10 X 1 Attend Roast @ Hal's $10.50 x 2 (price includes food, drink and band) This is just an idea. That way you could have a semi-formal banquet with the guest of honor being Eric. And have a separate event (the roast) being much more laid back and fun. The band could play there and keep things loose. Just my two cents worth. I'd be happy to help develop a website. Payment could be made via Paypal. This way money would be paid upfront to give a total head count and for an idea of how many shirts to order and their sizes. I'm sure no one wants to end up footing the bill for t-shirts and then have 200 left over. You could pre-sell the shirts this way and then have a limited quantity available the days of the event. Additionally, might I also suggest that advertising space is sold on the website? This would generate funds to help offset the cost of the event and allow vendors to directly advertise to the very market that buys their products. This is a common practice. Not sure what's planned on all the other days, but you could also do a golf outing one morning and have corporate sponsors for each hole. Again, just a thought. Please let me know if you need any assistance. I'm in Pa, but can do all web design work from home and post online for approval. |

By the way, I would volunteer to be an event photographer. Photography is one of my hobbies and some of my work can be seen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/forthegloryphoto/ If a track day were to happen I could get some amazing photos of the riders. |

good work guys! Lots of good ideas already stated so now we just need to see how they all work out, so keep us posted with the progress. The date sounds good and Alpine Valley sounds like a good place to have it too. Just one question, does Alpine Valley have a camping area? Or an area that they would allow camping? About the Banquet, I'm not against it but wouldn't a pig roast be cheaper and less formal? I also think we need to invite all former Buell employees as our guests, free of charge. thanks for posting it here since I had already forgot about last night's meeting. |

I'm ok with either date, really. Skipping Father's Day festivities is the price the family will have to pay! Looks like some of this has been offered, but here are some possible ways I could help: - website creation - my girlfriend (also a Buell rider ) is an amateur photographer, runs a Nikon D90 etc. Her services can be volunteered. - I'm in Minneapolis area, by brother owns a couple of local restaurants. we can host a dinner on a particular night before the event for those traveling from the west - any other way i can help! |

Rocco, I just threw in the word formal in referring to the banquet. I heard several that attended the 25th Buell homecoming say that about the banquet they had. now if the banquet consisted of sitting down eating at a pig roast in town square of East Troy on a Saturday evening listening the Erik and the Thunderbolts, HEY, I'm all in for that! |

The ONLY reason we are considering having it at Alpine is because, assuming most will be staying there, drinking won't be an issue. Also, the town square would requiring pulling permits, port-a-jons, etc. Alpine has a very nice set up, including a really nice, large, new paver block patio we could utilize. Again, this is all just ideas, as we still have yet to hear back from Alpine Valley. |

16th-20th for us. What better way to spend time with the family then with our extended family? None |

Ok everyone,I have just got off the telephone with the contact we needed at Alpine. She needs to speak to her upper management. She will be in contact with me earlY next week. The dates of the 16th-20th will work. The 9th-13th will NOT. They have a very large amount of people that come for a golf outing that they have used Alpine for 25 years. So if we are to use Alpine the 16th - 20th it will have to be. She will be working out room rates for us shortly upon the approval that she first needs. I also talked to her for plate price for a Buffet style dinner. It would be $20.95 plus gratuity. I'll have a exact price as well for that in due time. The dinner would be a two meat option and of coarse the fixing's. I thought that was very fare. Alpine seems to very interested and would like to see this happen. I extended to her that this would be something we would like to repeat on a yearly basis. Stay tuned....... Rocco you have a voice mail. Call me ASAP!!!! |

June 16 - 20!!?! That's the dates for Laconia!! I'd have to give up sitting dead still on some really magnificent twisty roads surrounded by 1/4 million fags dressed like gay pirates blipping their throttles! (Terri and I will be at Homecoming hopefully with about a hundred Gozontas) |

Alpine would be PERFECT. It's a bit old and the shine is off it . . exactly what we are looking for. They also, if I am not mistaken, have some sort of outdoor theatre where bands play. But . . . that might not be part of the lodge. Basically it's a ski resort in the Winter and a golf joint in the summer. If there is no golf event that weekend, my bet is we'd have the run of the place. It's close to LOTS of stuff we can do and offers some fabulous riding opportunities. For those of you conflicted about the family deal I can tell you that these Buell gatherings have always been a great "entire family" opportunity. I think you guys are doing a bang up job. . . decide and let us know what we're doing and what we need to do to help . . we'll be there. |

Thanks to all you guys for putting this together. I am sure that Erik is very enthusiastic about your efforts. I know I am; great job. Alpine would be good, have to watch for conflicts on their schedule, some of the music gigs can draw big crowds, snarl traffic and result in crabby cops. |

the concert thing is out of their hands, as they sold the venue 20 plus years ago. that was mentioned that if there is a concert that weekend, traffic could be a pain. They won't know the concert schedule until about May, so I guess it's a chance we take and hope for the best? But you never know. It could just add to the Adventure!!! To all offering services. I'm not sure yet who is going to set up the website, but any help would be appreciated. And photographers? PLEASE!!! Take as many as possible as there was talk about making a calendar from this years event to sell for 2011 and help fund that event. Steve Mackay is the guy to talk to about the website. PM him and let him know you're willing to help.' The barn tour, kettle runs and even a Mississippi run are all part of the plan as well. Just need to put them in some sort of order. |

I already registered buellhomecoming.com this evening. So that wheel is in motion.... I'll be setting up the website this evening, but may take a day for the DNS servers to register it. So be patient. I'll be making Budc, Dana, and Rocco all admins of the site so they can update details at will. Thanks for all the enthusiasm. And a big thanks go to Rocco and Dana for keeping the ball rolling on this, and having our 'lil group stay involved. |
