Mike as a Buell rider your relationship with LCHD is different than the rest of us. You work there and if they had ten more guys like you I would feel a whole lot differently about my local Buell dealer. I've tried ordering parts and shopping for clothing and just socializing with the working staff. And you understand the comment of being treated like a "Red Headed Step Child", after about four trys I decided they really didn't want my business. And this attitude is in about seven out of ten HD Dealerships that I've been to. There are some really good ones and I bought two Buells from one of them.I also spent have my spare time at their shop and bought almost all my bike stuff from them. The door swings both ways....If we were treated like the HD Riders we would shop there.Sorry about the rant guys. |

Well, I got back to the US on Friday, and on Saturday I was the owner of a new 2009 XB12SS! Black frame with the red wheels and see through plastic. Deal wasn't too bad from LCHD and I really like the bike. I'll pick it up Tuesday. Can't wait to put some miles on it while I am at home. Hadn't been in LCHD in a long time. I only recognized a few guys. Hopefully the weather holds out for two more weeks, I want to put as many miles as possible on it before I have to go back! |

Me and my wife went for about a 50-60 mile ride today. It was a nice one but a bit chilly. I got a co-worker that just won a 08 xb12r off ebay today thats white with the blue accents for 4600 that was a repo. I cant wait to see it. I hope it looks as good as it did in the pics on ebay. |

you guys dont think that they will be bought out to someone else later on. i hope so. i have a dumb question. do i need to disconnect the battery and put a additive in the fuel just for a 2 week period. the bike is in a garage but i just wont be around for 2 weeks to start it and run it around |

I think we'll see Erik Buell building motorcycles somehow within 2 years at the most. Your bike should be fine for 2 weeks without doing anything. |

Hugh, any connection between you getting a 1125cr and the police putting this across the street from your house?

I have tried a search and couldn't find exactly what I wanted, maybe someone could help here before I go anywhere else. What would have to be done (if anything) to a 2008 XB12R if you wanted to change the exhaust to make some noise? Anything special, or can you just run it with a free flowing exhaust with out a lot of popping or will there need to be any other changes made? |

I know you can use ECMSPY with a workaround to make changes in the fuel map. It's in here, you just have to keep looking to find the answer. Did you just buy one? |

No, A coworker just got an 08 white with the blue 12R and was talking about a change in muffler b/c people are messing with him about the sound and I think he's jealous of the way mine sounds!!! |

Darren, I'm running the Drummer on my 9R with the stock ECM with no problems. I had the race ECM in but didn't like the way the bike ran. |

Gary thanks. Thats how my 9S is set up with just the stock ecm. My main concern is with the exhaust valve. I know that the Spec Ops pipe keeps the valve and am kinda leaning towards that one cause I dont know exactly how that affects the performance of the engine. Plus it is one of the more friendly ones on the pocket and I dont know how his $ is holding up now. Ultimately his choice though. |

08's couldnt use ecm spy, run it at around 3k rpm around town for about 30 min and it will learn. |

Thanks guys. Matt, that was what I was thinking about doing. If he doesn't get drastic with the changes, then the ecm should learn and compensate for the free-er exhaust. |

Yea, i just wouldnt go to crazy with intakes and exhausts on that model, or he will need to get the tuner for it |

Man I hope some of yall got to go out and ride this weekend. The weather was awesome!! I went to Lake Lure NC and found out that the roads around the lake and into Chimney Rock are nice roads to ride and are about 2 hrs away from Columbia. I think I may have to head up there again on the bike within the next two weeks. I am not 100% GO but am going to try and do a little ride up that way, and anyone is welcome to ride along as well. I did not get to take the bike this weekend though, which after arriving there really made me wish that I had taken it. The only problem was that the place that we stayed did not allow motorcycles at its cabins or anywhere on site. This was a golf community/resort. Nice place but the golf part just wasn't thrilling to see at all for me. Otherwise it was a nice trip to just chill for the weekend!! |

In '84 (GPz750), thought Lake Lure/Chimney Rock/Blowing Rock were my own secret discoveries. Still among of the "good roads", except on week-ends. Good b-b-q on the river in C' Rock. |

I was up around Chimney Rock and Lake Lure in August for about 5 days. The girlfriend and I trailered our bikes up from the beach and rented a cabin about 20 miles southwest of Marion. We did the Lake Lure (Rt 64) run several times, made it over to sliding rock, up to Grandfather Mt., and down to Mt. Mitchell. Route 80 on the way to Mt. Mitchell was the best road that we found up there with very little traffic. Absolutely wonderful up there, I would move tomorrow if there were any job opportunities up there. The cabin we stayed at was about $120 a night with 4 bedrooms and sleeps 12, and no problem with us being bikers. There are a lot of deals up there and people that are biker friendly, you just got to look for them. Rode around alittle on Sunday when I got back in town, but was pretty tired coming back from Clemson and that late Sat. night game. |
