HOG roast has been going on for a few days already. I like a good hog roast. Here's where I like to stay; http://countryviewcamp.com/index.html |

I'm there whenever, where-ever. I'd be much less interested in a lot of riding than I would be in some riding and a lot of hanging out with all you good folks, and Court too. |

I'm with Blake, a bit of riding and a bit of hanging out and a bit of a trip to the barn... RPM, whats the matter, ya think they might think it was something other than a "Hog" roast? |

I have been reading this thread and I am compelled to comment. First of all, thanks to Steve and Brian for getting things rolling. As you both know, the owner of Hal's has committed to hosting Homecoming events for 2010 just like we have done for soooo many years. Second, I think that the current level of enthusiasm is great! I only hope that it is still here in four or five months when we are down to the wire. At least we won't have to wait for Buell/H-D to make up their mind on what's going on. Third, I have to take issue with Rocco's comments. HOG has never been involved with the planning or presenting of any Buell Homecoming (unless you are lumping BRAG into HOG). As a matter of fact, for a while, Buell was barely involved, at least it seemed that way. Most of the planning and presentation of events for homecoming was done by the local dealerships. This year Hal's was the only dealership that did anything for Homecoming. Buell didn't do as much as we did. I know that there have always been suggestions from people on this board and we (Hal's) have always tried to accommodate as much as we could but this stuff costs money and lots of it. Just an example: 2008 Buell Homecoming Private Track Day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway-$18,000. Experience-Priceless! I am not trying to piss anyone off here but lets face it, without Buell to pick up some of the costs it is going to be hard to do the same kind of things that we've done in the last few years. Hal's is committed to our "Buell Family" but funds are limited. Just a reality check. BudC |

Bud, I'm sure Rocco was lumping BRAG & HOG together. Since Hog used to be run(if you can call it that) 'part time' by the HOG folks. But, anyways... I was bored tonight

thanks for posting here Bud and Steve's idea of having a hog roast at Hal's is an excellent idea but would we run into the same problem with the neighbors that we had this last year with Erik's band playing? I would hate to get together and then have the police come by and stop the fun early. Just something to consider. Maybe we could get tee shirts printed up like Steve posted to sell? There's plenty of time yet to make this the best Buell homecoming ever. I'm in! |

It is one neighbor that is the problem at Hals. Maybe I can go to his door this week and ask when he's going on vacation, and we'll plan the concert around it! But, in all seriousness folks, this is NOTHING but ideas at this stage. And it will likely cost $$$ this year, since we don't have the backing of BMC. I don't expect Hals to flip the bill for everything we're thinking of. I'd just like to get ideas right now, and present them to Kirk when we have something concrete. Here's what we got for numbers as of 6:20CST today.
When would be the best time for Homecoming 2010 | | | | Early June | 3 | 8.30% | | | | | Mid June | 10 | 27.80% | | | | | Late June | 12 | 33.30% | | | | | Early July | 2 | 5.60% | | | | | Mid July | 6 | 16.70% | | | | | Late July | 3 | 8.30% | | | | | Early August | 0 | 0.00% | | | | | Mid August | 0 | 0.00% | | | | | Late August | 0 | 0.00% | What events would you be interested in? | | | | Kettle Moraine "adventure ride" | 20 | 55.60% | | | | | Blackhawk Farms trackday | 11 | 30.60% | | | | | Seeing Erik Buell and the Thunderbolts | 23 | 63.90% | | | | | Great Lakes Drag Racing | 3 | 8.30% | | | | | Mississippi River Run | 16 | 44.40% | | | | | Tour of the original barn where the 1st bikes were built | 26 | 72.20% | |

Steve if you and Bud would like. I could host Erik like I have in past years. Of coarse the tab would be mine. Let me know. Ed Laben did bring it up to me when we were there. I'd love to help. I have the parking and zero problems with neighbor's. |

Camping out and having a pig/Hog roast would be a great time. Not a lot of interest in a track day, my insurance doesn't cover that sort of activity..... |

Quite possibly if it is held on a Saturday instead of a Friday the neighbor may not complain. Or he could just be a complainer! |

Steve is there a camp ground in the area (east troy) perhaps an outdoor / cookout event would be doable, Hals Imo should not be expected to foot the bill, We the buellisti should be covering it I hope no one is offended, I think you Brew city guys ROCK! |

Erik posted on his Facebook page "if there is a homecoming, I will be there". I took the survey, but those of you who are planning this event, it wouldn't be homecoming without Erik. His schedule should be considered when choosing a date and activities. |

I can't take credit for finding that one. A Bunch of Buellers used them last year. |

I stayed there with a bunch of Buellers. Not sure who it was that found it. They have nice facilities and a pool. There were rocks in the corners on the roads leading in to it. Most of the driveways inside the grounds are gravel. |

SOMEBODY take up a collection - we have a few of the usual suspects. Get me a name and an email that I can use for Paypal and I'll kick it $100 TODAY. Let's get this rolling. (and let's make DANGED sure that we can get as many of the Elves as possible) |

Ourdee, I cannot remember all the names either Andy, Joe, Kim me and you plus the young guys with the big trailer and some others camping around there. It is not full that time of year (early June). The coffee delivery boy was nice enough. I think he will be riding a Buell soon. Lynn likes to camp and I hope she can come with me this time. She really enjoyed the 25th or maybe she was enjoying watching me and Zac act like kids in a candy store. |

Steve, I'd rather not take any deposits on ANYTHING until we get a date set. We wont get a date set till the AMA & CCS/ASRA race schedules come out after January 1st. I will also setup a dedicated "homecoming" paypal account for this when the time comes. (Message edited by steve_mackay on October 30, 2009) |

Just press enter on the last line. Sorry, I noticed the same thing. But you're the 1st one to complain about it And it's been too long since I did any PHP work to re-work the pre-made plugin for my website. I wouldn't know where to begin. |
