why not channel some of that energy and emotions into a POSITIVE thread. How about putting some idea's down here on what YOU'D like the 2010 Homecoming, NOT handled by HOG (thank God) anymore, to include. Be realistic. It's called Homecoming and being Wisconsin is where Buells were made, continuing the tradition here is probably the way to go. I'll start. NOT over a race weekend. NOT over a holiday weekend. This needs to be set up FOR the owners, BY the owners. |

How about La Porte City Iowa? Hahahahah Just kidding. It has to be in Wisconsin. June? July? I think it should be right in East Troy, a True Homecoming. Maybe contact the city leaders and see what they have to offer us? |

Rocco ... Steve and I have already been working on it .... not going to be on the 4th ... not over a race weekend ... We have to wait until next years race schedule comes out so we know when Blackhawk is available for a track day - already have control riders sorted We also have to wait until after the 18th of December when we have 180 more members here ... it's been made clear the elves want in for Homecoming 2010 ... Stay tuned - it's going to be a good one !! (Message edited by tattoodnscrewd on October 28, 2009) |

Good idea Dave. We actually should try to involve them |

I know Brian, but I think some ideas from fellow Buellers could do nothing but make it even better. For years, most have never had or felt they could be involved in planning. Always strong armed out of it by HOG. Now is the chance to let the actual OWNERS get their hands dirty. |

Set it up the same way with racing at road America. |

Might be a small little extra for the town that was home to Buell. I am sure that shutting the factory down will affect all the businesses in East Troy in a negative way. If 2-300 of us would show up, fill the hotels, eat at Gus' Drive In and fill the bars it could help? Town Square group photo again. Could be pretty cool |

I agree with you 100%, the only problem is 'you can't please everybody' ... we have only a few days to work with and we have to have a day for Hal's HD/Buell as they WILL still be supporting Buell owners .. (which would also be the same day we would hope to get Erik's band to play) ... the mandatory track day - which you get to go to this year !!! haha ... There are other things - a lot of which was talked about on Monday with many other Bueller's, lots of ideas were bounced around. We really can't set any date until next year's race schedule is out ... at which time we probably should take a poll of what weekend everybody would like. And one good thing about this year is that there will be more free time which will allow owners to do just about anything since there is no race weekend which ate up most of Homecoming's in the past. We also kinda wanted to include Gus's and Roma's (they really stepped up for the last ride and helped out last minute - plus, they are East Troyas well). one of those 'take care of the ones who took care of you' things. As Spidey mentioned Monday - it was nice to have a formal banquet of sorts to open and close past Homecomings. Trying to pick and pull the best of the past Homecomings is the idea. That said - I wasn't taking the lead on this one ... just throwing out there that some things are already in progress and with the addition of the elves (they get to do everything with us - many of them said on Monday how bad they wanted to put on a good show for us during Homecoming yet at the same time wanted to go ride with us and forget work ... which is cool !!) ... Either way - it will be a good one ! (Message edited by tattoodnscrewd on October 28, 2009) |

One last note - in reading many posts from people who made the ride Monday - I noticed that many would have liked to stick around but couldn't (understandable) - whether to just hang out or go sight-seeing, or just to go ride, for fun .... I am kinda hoping that there is more free time between things that allow this .. and it's fitting for Buell owners IMO, let's just ride ... not talking big structured rides .. unless that is what someone wants, I'm talking go get lost for a few hours type of ride ... Spirit of Buell right there ... instead of riding to one scheduled thing after another, and that is the benefit of avoiding a Road America race weekend .. there'd be much more time to do just that ... We could do a "lets get lost in the Northern Kettle" ride But, if I lead the ride, it may become the Wisconsin culdesac tour |

And lets get some other suggestions rolling... Here's what we, as a local group have talked about... Something at Hals, maybe getting the Thunderbolts to play? Kirk has pledged support for it. Lets take advantage of their resources! Dinner at some point at Romas Pizza. Since they helped us, lets help them. Center the event a bit around a Blackhawk Trackday. I think we could get enough interest to take over for the day. Of course DOING the track day would be extra $$$. Lunch/dinner at some point at Gus's. Again, he helped us, lets help them. Some kind of southern/northern day long Kettle ride? |

Like I said in the past Steve. I could very much help with a banquet dinner. I can get a really great deal on a per a plate price. If we were to do a great Lakes Dragaway thing again its just East by about 10 minutes. Let me know??? The Hall is only 3 years old. |

I'm all for a track day. Mississippi River Run? Very nice roads just about anywhere out that way. Rolling Finger Run? We all ride by the H-D headquarters, middle fingers held up loud and proud? (Message edited by rocketsprink on October 28, 2009) |

I think giving back to the business that gave so much is a great idea. Does Roma's have the capacity to have all of us there. Thats why I offered the banquet hall. That could be a totally separate deal then going to Roma's and Gus's. |

One other thing. A June Homecoming it always has been other then the year before. But the last 3 years it seemed to rain in this area the first couple weeks of June. Would be nice to do a mid July deal. |

Dragway doesn't appeal to me. Too expensive, kinda run down, just boring. BUT THAT'S MY OPINION. Besides, aren't we just H-D riders if we ride and sit? Something new would be cool. |

Hey guys this is great and I am sure you all will come up with something that will go down in history as a great event. Personally, I will be there but it is more about seeing old friends and making new ones than anything else for me. I am not really into the track days but would go and watch or just ride and visit Lynn's folks in Fond du Lac. The best part about Homecoming for me was the day at the factory and talking to the BMC employees but last year was the first time I really enjoyed going to Hals. It seemed like I could not get out of there with all the people wanting to talk to me (I don't know why they troubled themselves to seek me out). Whatever comes out of this I will be there. It would be nice to have a place where hundreds of Buells and Buell riders could gather and not be bothered by the rest of the world. I will try and get some Colorado Riders to make it but my heart is heavy right now and hopefully that will change by Homecoming time. In fact I know it will since the S2 Gathering is in May. I doubt I would be able to help but you guys are the experts and I have confidence it will be a great one. Frank |

Rocco I feel the same about Great Lakes but its a gathering spot. As far as expense they will do group rate and its really cheap. I just thought its one place to hangout and be able to get everyone in a spot. But I know what you mean as something new. |

I'm game with whatever. I just need to get me another bike here soon!! What do you guys think will happen to the current BMC building? Maybe it will be empty and we can gather there with catered food and have Erik and The Thunderbolts play there? Just a thought Oh, and im hoping for the first three weeks in July sometime for the dates.. |

Steve and I talked briefly about that. It could be a bit of a liability to the owner/owners of which HD leased the facilty from. That would need to investigated whether or not being there is a possibility. |

My only two Buell gatherings were this year's HC and the Last Ride. Both of which were freaking awesome in their own way. So I am open for anything, I have never been to or participated in a track day but I had a hell a of time just talking with the great Buellers and pickin' on No Rice! So...let me know if I can help... Oh...and as far as just going for a ride... I would still follow Steve Mackay any where!!! That dude know where the twisties are!!! |

I don't think it would be Homecoming in PA. Its always been a Wisconsin tradition. |
