OK, change of plans. My wife can go, so we're going to be trucking the Uly out (she'd never survive that long on the back). If anyone wants to go, I should have a bikes' worth of space in the bed, and the back seat should be free for human occupancy (Dodge quad cab). Either that or you can consider us a "chase truck". Still planning on a Sat. AM departure... | ||

For those of us who can't go all the way to Buelltown, does anyone want to do a meet-up and ride this weekend, or even Monday (just give me an excuse to take a day off!)? I think a big ride from Maryland to Virginia (and vice versa) and a meet-up in the middle would be really cool. Frederick area could be a good place to link up for lunch, then do some twisty rides in that area? Take some pictures, send them to the Elves and the Buellers who could get to Wisconsin? The weather looks good for the weekend. | ||

Congrats, Breakneck! When I took the course, there were guys in my class who had been riding since they were teens, and even owned big cruisers and dressers...they just never had their license. Two of them were really pissed when they didn't pass the riding part of the test (and a bunch of newbies did). Nice to have that "M" on the license. | ||

For those looking for a 'destination' this weekend.. I'll be at Summit Point - Shenandoah for two days on the track. Admission to the TPM (Team Pro-Motion) event is free for 'freinds and family/Spectators and you can see how slow I really am around that track.. Someone bring a camera and I'll try not to look too dorky on my 1125... Rat, I wonder if anyone up there would like to see my 'non-racer' leathers.. They are a custom set.. I think they're in my current profile pic and I can send you some clearer versions (I'm sure I have a few) as well as pictures of the Bumble Buell after 'Smoking' a BMW 1200 up the back side of VIR North. | ||

With Buell prices dropping and Ducati prices not ,anybody interested in a trade!!!! I have a 2006 Ducati Sport 1000 with 11,500 miles. All service up to date , all fiulds just changed oil and filter,fork oil, brake and clutch hydro's. Bike has Termi exhaust with race ecm ,open air box cover and BMC filter. Speedymoto open clutch cover and frame sliders. My bike will need tires soon, so if your Uly tires worn thats ok . Ducati is equal in nada value to a 07/08 Uly depending on miles and options. Maybe a 06 if all service mods are done and super low miles. Located in Maryland. Garage kept. Rear stand not included. Bike will come with stock Ducati barend mirrors,not ones pictured. Yup, tomorrow looks nasty. I'm game for a DC/Baltimore meetup on Sunday, but I may need to race home to supervise the unloading of a mattress from my basement to a truck out front (don't ask). I'm up for any starting point: Ft. Washington, Laurel, Battley (The First Buell Dealer Ever), Baltimore, Frederick, etc. Anyplace for a good photo of Buell lovers. | ||

Check that...I pretty sure I'm out for tomorrow. I took the Uly to run some errands today and it ended up being a 5 hour ride. I hit Old Glory HD-B and picked up a shirt and map holder. They have several Buells there, including an R and a CR that sold this morning. Plenty of shirts and random knickknacks. Talked to a guy who had just bought a CR himself. A salesman said they sell 5-6 Buells a month, so they're bummed about the news too. The rain started for real as I got on 144 West out of Baltimore, but I was all buttoned up so it was no problem. I stopped at Battley HD-B and found another Buell shirt and ordered a drive belt for the future. That's when the heavens opened, and I was stranded for about an hour (not a bad place to be stranded). Battley has a few Buells left - a gorgeous red 1125R, a TT with mismatched plastics, and a Firebolt. Most are priced at $7k. The rain eventually slowed a bit, enough to get my gear on and ride home. The bike performed perfectly. Long story short, my wife is pissed, and there's no way I can take a second ride tomorrow. I have a feeling we'll be hiking somewhere, looking at the leaves, with me wondering if she's still in a bad mood. Oh well, at least today was fun. Sorry guys. | ||
