Charlie, Have you ever seen anything like this years Va. Tech football program? They might as well just play their defense full time because offense can barely put together 2-3 drives a game. Come on man, nobody struggles that much against Nebraska. Gonna be a looooooong season! |

I rode to Harrisonburg this morning to help Pop sell off his red BMW. I took 311 to Covington and then jumped on 42. Great day for riding. I ate lunch at "The Galley" for Jackie and beeped at "The Lone Star" for Charlie as I rode past. Coming off of 220 South I took 43 toward Buchanan; the same route Charlie and I took so many years ago with the train running alongside us. I knocked out 300 miles under beautiful, clear, 79 degree skies. Some guys just can't catch a brake! |

Sure is quiet 'round here. This rain has had me cooped up for a day too many. Spent yesterday cleaning the house form stem to stern. Gotta get it on the market and me in to my new dream garage. Looks like I get to spend next week painting. Hey Jack, wanna hang out? I've got rollers and brushes; I'll even get you one of those paper hats. nUTS |

I would rather be basted in honey and buried up to my neck in an ant hill than paint. I will however be more than happy to come on over and critique your work as you slave away. How'd that be? Charlie, Cold down there yet? I had to break out a hoodie the other day. Summer has passed Virginia by for the year |

Nuts, I want that freakin' bike. I may head out to see DC tomorrow to see what he can do for me on the Kahr, 20g and Browning pump. Never use them anyways. Charlie, It is colder than a witches booby up here. Its like somebody turned a light switch off at the changing of the seasons. Everyone keeps saying its gonna be a bad Winter but seems I hear that mess every year. Maybe this will be the year we get another big snow. |

490 two-stroke tracker maybe? Ron wood chassis wrapped around a turbo'd, air cooled, 750cc demon; pushing 13:1 compression. Or some other variation of bike that spends half of its time cranked over to the left and the other half shooting rooster tails down the straights. |

OOOOOOOOH, that kind of Monster. For the money the 490 is the meanest thing I've ever built. This thing has awsome power and fantastic handling(Astro frame),will probably spend this next year enjoying it. However I am involved in redueing a guys Rotax that will probably scare the*** out of him. |

Jackie, any luck? I went to the farm at the last minute on Friday and got in two hunts on Saturday. Saw 3 deer in the morning and a raccoon in the evening. The last installment of trail-cam pics shows an eight point and a 250lb+ black bear. I have pictures of the bear during the day and night. I brought the bow down with me and will probably try to get a few hunts in this week depending on the work being done to the house. Gimme a ring if you want to go sometime. |

No apples Charlie. I put a salt lick there back in May and the critters keep digging in the ground. This is under a tree of WalNUTS however. |

Rascal laid there and proceeded to eat 10 pounds of shelled corn in 20 minutes. He then waddled down the trail and threw it all up. Glutton! He is a mighty big bear though. NUTS (Message edited by nutsosane on October 08, 2009) |

Nuts, I'm gonna hit it hard for the next 3 days. I REALLY want to at least try to get a shot off with the new bow after the depressing start to the season. By the time you read this I'll be in the woods. Probably get home around 10:00am since the place I'm going will put me near the 400 meter range. Not the finger my friend but rather the spot where I bagged the bucks several years ago. I remember us walking through there the other day and seeing droppings all ovr the place. They may be moving through at night but its worth a try. Friday will be an afternoon hunt. If you want to go I figure we will leave around 1:00 again. Didn't hear anything about the farm so the wife found me a little 6 acre parcel in Roanoke Co. that I'm gonna try. Its backed up by 500 acres of posted land. The owners of the small plot have permission to retrieve downed game so no worries about them dropping across the property line. Gonna hit that in the a.m. as well. I imagine I'll sleep all afternoon and evening so post up and let me know if you're in for Friday. |

You on a morning hunt? Congratulations, I thought you'd gotten too old and lazy to go sit in the dark awaiting dawn. I still don't know what this weekend holds as the dude is supposed to come work on the ceiling this morning. As soon as he gets done I'll send the info your way. That wife of yours must be a saint; tolerates all your impulsive purchasing, gives you the new car, and now finds you a little slice of heaven to hunt. Lucky fellow. NUTS |

Charlie, I wish it was an ATV kill. It woulda been easier to find. The brush is still so thick it took 2 1/2 hours to find her even though she was stone cold dead a mere 60 yards from where I thumped her. Nutsatchel, Tried calling but you got the damn phone off. What says to sighting in the muzzleloaders on Sunday? I think I'm gonna kill two birds with one stone and sight in the .243 at the same time. Might wanna do the same with your 30/06. No excuses now. Go get so bullets, powder and primers and lets get it done. I'll even take you to the ER when we get done so you can get your eyebrow sown up . |

I loaded the bowcase onto the motorbike yesterday morning and rode to the farm. Too hot to hunt yesterday but I got a hunt in this morning and will get another this evening. No sighting in for me Turtlehugger as both firearms are up here at the farm and I won't haul a long-gun on the bike. I have all the stuff for sighting in at home should you need something though. I'll be riding home on Sunday and then putting in a little time working on the house. NUTS |
