Well we are back today. The trip was awesome and my trip odometer said 996.5 miles round trip! As all trips it is over as soon as it begins, but we had fun none the less. Deals gap was great. Saw 1 1125R while we were there. Passed 2 ulys and saw one xb12r at a grocery store. This was all of the buell sightings that we had. The Blue ridge parkway, Cherehola skyway, The Dragon, hwy.28, hwy 178 all frikin sweet roads to ride. There were no incidents for us or anyone we were around, so this was a great trip. We got rained on thursday twice, once when we were about 15 mins from the house, and the second after we dried out and was about 15 mins from the destination. Just foggy on friday morning. Saturday was perfect. Foggy this morning pounding the slab back to Columbia. Guell if you buy the 1125R in white, then you will be making an awesome choice in color. That would be the one that I would buy. I am waiting for the 1125CR in white. I think that would be a good color for it! |

We just got back from a weekend in the mountains too. We trucked the bike up to my sister-in-law's near Ennice, NC (about 20 miles west of the intersection of the BRP and I-77) on Wednesday. Rained all day Thursday. Friday I rode the BRP and hit a few local roads. Saturday I rode from Ennice to Marion, NC on the BRP (about 140 miles). It was cool and clear- great riding weather. My wife came down by main roads in the truck and we spent the night there. This morning I got up and rode highway 80 (Lake Tahoma Road/Buck Creek Road) up to the Parkway. That's an awesome piece of road, especially about the last 5 miles. Then rode north on the Parkway and came down 261. At the bottom of the mountain, got on 261A and went back up. 261A is also an awesome road; it goes up to Little Switzerland and then parallels the BRP for about 5 miles to Spruce Pine. Came back down 261 one more time into Marion, loaded up, and came home. Got back to Summerville about 5 PM. Oh yea, I did see a blue XB9R with a Drummer exhaust tooling around Marion. I also saw a Cube, er I mean Blast on the Parkway. Not looking too good for Buelltoberfest for us right now. Band has a gig we didn't know about. ARGH. |

just got a question. i am not to good with maintenance on bikes or cars, but tthd told me that the only exhaust upgrade i could get for my 09 xb9 city is the jardine and i had to get a RACE TUNER to go with it. just want to know if i would be able to get the spec ops exhaust and is that all i need so i can do it in my garage. i also want to get a K&N filter. as for right now the bike is completely stock |

Demarsico- You can post in Odie's forum here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/130666.html?1252806651 and ask about running a Special Ops exhaust with the stock ECM. I think it'll work OK. Your dealer can order the maintenance manual for you or you can get it from one of Badweb's dealer/sponsors. It's not a bad idea to spring for the parts book as well. It's handy to know the part number when you go to your dealer to order it, and sometimes the exploded views in the parts book help more than the maintenance manual in figuring out how things go back together. |

I dont know how much this will help because my bike is a bit older (03), but mine is stock except for the jardine slip on that it came with and it runs/performs just fine. I haven't taken it to the next level. Oh, I went to TTHD and got some parts for the bike today. EVERYTHING was in stock, even the little oil seal for the primary case at the shifter shaft!! (which is leaking) |

scbuellkat, i talked to odie and he said i did not need to remap the ecm. not sure what that means but i understood that i could just run the muffler alone. does tthd do remaping. i am going there friday for the 1000 mile service i am going to ask anyway i just was wondering. does anyone also know if the warranty sticks if i change the muffler |

Well Matt it looks good for now for you to be able to find one especially if you want to travel to get one cause there are plenty of them for sale. More S's than R's. |

Charlestonians: Just so you know I-526 from West Ashley to North Charleston is an absolute mess. DOT has ground the road surface down so there is a ton of debris flying and the bridge junctions will about knock your front wheel off. |

Sweet! I said that I wanted to do that one day. Fly for about two or three hours and spend a day or two trying to find my way home the scenic way!!! Talk about an awesome time. Granted the bike is in great condition in order to make the entire trip home. Just have some Buell dealerships numbers and locations to plan the route around (just in case something happens) unless your plan is to get a brand new one, but you could do that in town, unless you got an awesome deal on a brand spankin' new one somewhere else!! |

Yeah but those XB's are some sweet riding machines! As I'm sure yours is too, but there has to be some improvement between the two. Ah heck just keep it and get an XB so you will have 2 bikes in the stable! That way, you dont have to sell that one!!!!

Hey Matt, you should go get you an 08 1125R from Bumpus HD and Buell. They have some sweet deals! Look in the quick board if you haven't seen the newest post yet. I would take them up on one but I got 2 bikes already. That blueish purple frame may look nice with the white body work. I think you should try it |

I'm leery of that fly 'n ride deal, too risky. FtBstrd/Jeremy could ID me as a bleeding-heart liberal and there I'd be, in middle Tennessee ... : ) |
