i was there for the demo rides. i rode every buell they had and then some hd's today. i think that lightning you saw was mine. i checked the site this morning and it would not let me on. i think the lightning and the 1125cr are the best rides. i am only 5'6 and the ully was far to tall for me. |

I have become really slack in wearing my gear. Boat shoes and short sleeved shirts are not exactly the best riding gear. The weather finally appears to be cooling... maybe I can convince myself to ride more protected. BTW, who here is going to Buelltoberfest? |

Heck was wondering if the bike, gear, and hopes of fun was thrown out the window a couple months ago.....SOLD! You have been awfully quiet lately..... At least you have been riding. +1 on the mesh man. Trust me it works! 11 months ago it was tested by myself. Truly glad I had it on. You all know my story. |

Oh yeah, probably NO buelltoberfest this year. I have an event to help coordinate/participate in that weekend for the in-law that is getting married next year. |

Wore the leather today. It was nice. Not too many days in the Summer that you can comfortably wear leather. |

Same here. Wore leather jacket yesterday & today. I absolutely love this weather. Nice break from the insane humidity... don't think it will last too long though. |

Tree, Don't think i am going to make it. I have an engineering seminar in Columbia on that Friday, then I have a Wedding to attend in Charleston. So, i have a pretty booked weekend. I did sell the chopper. Had to come down a bit, but sold it. Good news is that i don't have to sell the Buell. On another note, i still haven't got the parts in to repair the Buell since the unloading accident. Still waiting for the local dealer to get in the parts i ordered over 2 weeks ago. Very frustrating. Just want to get the bike back together and ride! |

Hell yea, buelltoberfest! Anyone have recomendations on putting a bike in the back of a truck? Im hauling it out there, cruiser control, ac and satelite radio all the way to the good roads! |

Dont! Ride the bike all the way. Be Tough! Enjoy the breeze! Na I dont, except just make sure you strap it down good when you get it in there. I hope you dont have a truck with high suspension. That would have to make it tougher to balance it to get it in there. |

yea, 4x4 offroad package on it, so it will be more of a pain to get it in the back. Darren, i do remember you saying put it back together while its still running.... last october, a few miles out of athens when she broke down. |

Guell, Just make sure you have a long enough and wide enough ramp. If you know anyone that has a loading dock, it sure makes loading simple. I used a 16 ft scaffolding plank to load into the back of a truck. Just don't do it alone! Ask for help. Getting it into and out of the truck is the hardest part. Once in there, two ratchet straps in the front, and make sure you ratchet it down to where you compress the front springs enough as it won't bounce. Two straps in the back to keep it centered and down. I have hauled my bike like this many times, and the only problem i have ever had, was during the loading and unloading... Again... Be very careful! Don't get in a hurry and try to do it yourself. Get help... take it from me, as I am still putting her back together from dropping her off the ramp, trying to unload her by myself... dumb. Would be happy to help you, but probably won't be in the area when you are preparing to leave. |

I'm planning on trucking to Buelltoberfest as well. I just bought a double ramp set at Sam's Club. They're made of steel and fold in 3 parts. They look plenty heavy duty, but they could stand to be longer. I figure with the two ramps I can walk on one and have the bike on the other. Up to now I've used a 2x8 with a tailgate "adapter" I bought at Walmart or someplace similar. |

Hugh how that rider comfort kit work out and the reflash. Tree- the comfort kit is the bomb. I can ride all day in 85 degree weather without the fan coming on until I shut the bike off as long as I stay above ~35 MPH most of the time. The seat stays much cooler. My wife says she feels almost no hot air now whereas before he legs would get pretty hot. The reflash is available only for 08's and 09's so I don't have it (my Uly is an 07). They say it actually makes the fan turn on sooner, but that it turns off much quicker after you shut the bike down. Having the fan run like this evidently keeps the frame cooler. From what I've seen here, everybody that's got the new flash likes it better except one guy that complained about the fan running while riding. |

Yeah Matt you may have a point there. I do remember saying that after all! Like they said be careful with that high truck loading and unloading. A trailer that is low with a ramp would probably work the easiest. That way you could just ride it up into the trailer, but that requires more $ unless you already have one or know someone with one already. I hate I am going to miss it but maybe next year. The wedding kinda cut out a lot of my time this year and a couple days before that in Jan and Feb that I wasnt going to take but needed to in order to get some things taken care of for the new house. Oh well. Bring back pics!!! I, however, will be riding this weekend with dad and am so friking ready to get on the road and head up to the TWISTIES!!!! |

Tailspining, I have had the same thing happen to me. I took off out of my parking space and heard something drag and then I felt a bump. I stopped, looked back, and saw that I had run over my kickstand. |

Hey guys, I haven't chimed in in a long while. I'm thinking about going to Buelltoberfest, can't make any promises, gotta see if its in the budget. I think it might be. That and I've been hugely busy, I've been promoted at work and now dealing with all valves for Nuclear/Navy service as well as bringing down those lines from the union shop up north to our cheap shop down here. along with that I'm also going back to school to get my masters in Mechanical Engineering, not to mention the involvement I have with the Neighborhood association. |

DrFudd, Sounds like you are very busy. Good to see there are other fellow ME's out there that enjoy the Buells. Don't think i will be going to get my masters though. Passing that PE was enough to make me not want to go back to school. Matt, I don't know if the M2 uses the same belt as the Sporty, but I have a spare sporty belt you can have. Don't have the sporty any more, so it just takes up space in my garage. |

Matt, I just spoke the my buddy that works at the HD shop in Shallotte and he said that the belts are the same for a 95 sporty and a 97 M2, (128 tooth). I will be in Mt. Pleasant on Friday night and Sat. morn if you wanna drop by to pick it up. Just let me know. |

Thanks for the offer, its more of the if it does im stranded type deal since the frame has to be spread on my bike to drop the swingarm so i can remove the belt. I really think im going to buy a 1125r in arctic white next year. |
