Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Ohio Riders event at Pig Iron today. It was good to see everyone and I had a great time! My ride home.... not so much... the bald tire started to vibe a bit but I got home fine.... So I need to get a "new" used tire mounted and its Sunday night CRAIGSLIST!! I found a guy that had a post on cragslist... call 24/7 Gave Eric a call and he said come on down! It took him 13 minutes! We spent more time gum flapping than tire changing. Handed him 20 bucks and I was gone... Eric Norman 1960 Brown Rd Grove City, OH 43123 614-975-2989 (its the gray building on the corner of Frank and Brown Rd.) sooo the next time you get a smok'n price on a set of tires on the web, give Eric a shot at your business He is a young man with a young one on the way and any extra $$ sure wouldn't hurt. |

Sorry I didn't see your post Arctic... I was there for a bit, Bruce was there with the 9sx, there were two 1125r's, and a black firebolt. The firebolt guy was looking for you. What kind of exhaust is on that black firebolt??? It sounded absolutely amazing! |

I'm almost out. |

Mark - I still have to get with you to get my shirts. I'll get you some more cards too, and bring them for everyone else at the next meeting. Mike - Love the Special Ops exhaust!! The tail gunner looks great matching the heel plates too! Definitely convinced me that's the way to go this winter. |

Yup, I have absolutely no complaints with it. On another note... in the July 2009 issue of Midwest Motorcycle there's an article (P.18) about a guy who lives in NE Ohio and strictly only rode his motorcycle for an entire year! His picture shows him standing in front of a Firebolt, but the article says he rides a Uly! Interesting! I shot him an email about our club, the WV Buell Rally. Hopefully we'll see a Mike Mekinda join up! |

Absolutely Shawn! Unless something changes I probably won't be going myself, but you can stop at my house and pick some up or we can meet up somewhere on Saturday. I live in Westerville and am around Polaris all the time. Just let me know when/where you want to meet. That goes for anyone else too - but I will have the cards at the next meeting. |

New Members! We've had three more people join in the past week or so. Grace hails from Junction City and rides a 2008 Blast. Alisa Sanders is in Westerville and straddles a brand new 2009 Buell XB12Scg. And Mike Mekinda is up Painesville Twp, about 5 miles from Western Reserve HD in Mentor. Mike was referred from Mike F. and indeed rides a 06 XB12X Ulysses, not a Firebolt. Welcome to the club everyone! |

Mark I just missed you at AD H/D today. Funny thing is the parts guy rolled his eyes and muttered something about every nut with a Buell wanting a RSS! Seems you had hit him up just before i did! I bet that kit will be harder to get than a bag of free money for a while! |

AMA last weekend at Mid-Ohio was a blast. Cool to see Eslick on that 1125R. Wish i could ride like that. I'll see if I can find some pics to post. The new 1125RR is pretty cool too, but quite a bit of coin. |

We have also have added a class on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Attached is an information / announcement sheet and registration application for the class. We hopefully/eventually will have enrollment available on-line. Even though the title includes "Sportbike" Techniques, a sport bike is NOT required to take the course! Interested students may contact Michelle Matheron @ matheron66@hotmail.com Somebody PLEASE take this class!! I wanna here about it!! |

Is that different then the advanced rider course? I took one this spring in Troy, and had a great time. Me and another guy on an XB9SX made it look like shooting fish in a barrel. Pretty comical to see us breezing through it, while the guy on the 748 and the guy on the GSXR-1000 were struggling along. (and for the record, a guy on an electra glide was making it look pretty easy as well). They separated us for the last exercise (a flying circular cone weave) into "fast riders" and "slow riders". That was nice, as that was the main excercise that would have been really not fun behind the Ducatti. So is this different then that? |

From one of our COBRA members and MSF&ARC instructors I just became certified to instruct this class on July 2nd. Speed never exceeds 30-35mph and it is done on a full size range. For any who have taken the MSF Experienced Rider Course, this is more fun, significantly more challenging, and focused on more advanced and aggressive techniques. Mark Bookbinder Soooo there you have it!! I just talked to the program administrator and he said there was only one spot left for this weekend and the OCT class it wide open.... Its gonna be nice this weekend... we will expect a full report! |

Hi All, I took Advanced Riding Course by MSF and just came back home. It was fun, substantial, and meaningful. So, here is the report.(Please forgive my poor English.) 12 people got gather before the class started and we were chatting until the class began. There are 1 Buell (me), 2 Bandits, 1 CBR600 F3, 1 SV650, 1 BMW R1200GS, 1 GoldWing, and big Cruisers. 6 out of 12 people are from Cincinnati. 2 people are the instructor of Basic Rider's Course. The range of age are very wide like from 25 years old(me) to Grandpa(maybe 60). The class-room activity started at 8am and ended at 12:15pm. So, it took over 4 hours. It was supposed to take 3.5 hours. this is the first class for them and us, so it is kind a experiment. We all understood it took more hours than it was suppose to be. In the beginning of the class, we are given the inventory sheets and we are asked to fill out the sheets. there are several questions like "Do you want to do something dangerous just for fun?""If you have a very important job, Would you spent a lot of time to prepare it?" We are also given the sheets that there are several questions like"What is your riding skill?","What is your risk-taking?". Basically what we did is we evaluated ourselves and know about ourselves. It helped me to remind that I am still a newbie of motorcycles and I should ride a motorcycle in my skill level. After the evaluation, the instructors taught us about cornering, braking, swerving, safety& risk, rider perception, behavior& choice, etc,. I cannot tell everything of 4 hours lecture in this post, so if you want to know more, just let me know. I have my class notes. After the class-room activities, we have 45 minutes lunch break. Some people went to Mc Donald, other went to Taco Bell, the Other went to Arby's(Wendy's?). After we ate lunch. we had the riding class! It took 5 hours, and it was suppose to be 4 hours. Again, this was like a experimental class so we are fine about it. we did 8 excises. Each excises has 2 or 3 factors of braking, turning, and swerving. We are encouraged to lean the upper body forward & in during the whole day. It helps to turn your bike without leaning your bike a lot. I already know this technique but, some people did not know it. But,still these excises are very meaningful to me, because I think practicing riding is always good. The instructor said to me"I could watch your riding all the day", other people said "your riding is beautiful", so I am happy) Anyway, Everyone was satisfied with this course. The lecture was informative, the instructors are very helpful, the riding is a very good practice. Overall, I really like this course and recommend you to take this course in 10/10. Again, I did not write the details of class-room activities and riding because this small post is not enough to tell details of the great course. If you want to know more, just let me know. I'd happy to tell you. Thank you Masa (Message edited by chuma.1 on August 03, 2009) |
