Hello again. It has been a few days since I have been online.I figured I'd get on badweb to get my mind off the murders that have been going on in Gaffney, but find me typing about it now. It's really hard to enjoy the 4th weekend with the killer still loose. We still had our family down to cook out and swim but it was different.I ride my bike to work everyday and look forward to the ride home.I get off at 3am and it's about a 22 mile ride home, just watch out for all the deer and possums. Now when I cross the state line I have county police sitting there, kinda puts a bad feeling in your stomach. My wife and daughter are home and I worry about there saftey while I'm not there. They have protection but I still worry.I had a ride planned with some co-workers for today but didn't go because I knew my mind would be on my family.I guess the killer is winning since everybody is super paranoid.I went and got gas to cut my grass today and everybody checks you out, stares and get a good look at you.I catch myself doing the same thing.I was gonna watch my local news but world news came on instead and it was bout the 3rd story. The local news said a local pawn shop usually sells 1 gun a day, they sold 20 in one day.I have mine with me but use to not ever worry about it.I hope it ends soon.Sorry about going from one thing to another. |

I hear you man. My sister in law called her mom worried about the same event. She goes to school in clemson. I hope they catch that loser and hang him up for everyone to take a shot at. Hopefully we will find some good news on this evening, like them catching that piece of crap. Maybe the police will save us some tax dollars and just take him out. Thats my opinion... |

It appears that the killer was shot in Gaston County early Monday morning. It's about 30 miles from Gaffney.I know there are alot of unanswered questions that will never be answered but he won't go on another spree again.Just like SLED said he shouldn't of been on the street with a 25 page rap street. The sketch really doesn't look like him and the Explorer was a 4 door instead of a 2 door but ballistics came back on the gun positive so I'm confident this is him.I hope the victims families can rest a little easier and will be in my prayers. This whole tragic event has made me more aware of my surroundings.I hadn't got much sleep the past week and every noise seemed to be amplfied, cat on the porch, squirrels in the woods and even the ac coming on.Paranoid.I have co- workers that didn't really know what was going on in their neighboring state, county.I bet when I go in tomorrow they won't take it as a joke considering the ending happened in Gaston.Try and not take anything for granted.I told my wife not to open the door for anybody anytime no matter what they say.You NEVER know! I hope to pin the ears back on the XB and take a ride up to the mountains for a much needed spin.Sorry about all the rambling as it's late.Hope a good night sleep is on the way.Later. |

Im back on two wheels! Its rigged right now, but im just stress testing it now, completely rubber isolated, and it cost me 10 bucks to do. Hopefully this solution works well. the muffler is now rubbermounted to the z bracket itself, so it shouldnt be freefloating and vibrate all over the place like it did before. Just have to put on the stock handlebars now, these crossroads are killing me. |

I was thinking of going up to the mountains on Thurs July 23rd after work (5pm-ish) and running around most of the day Friday, before heading down to Mt. Pleasant for the weekend. Up4it, if you can wait till then, we can run up there together. |

Buell seems to have changed their philosophy on mounting mufflers between the tubers and the XB's. The tubers had a rubber isolated mount at the front of the muffler (rear of the header) and a semi-flimsy mount for the muffler under the engine. The XB's clamp the whole muffler rigidly against the bottom of the engine, which to me makes more sense. The muffler is attached to the header which is rigidly attached to the heads. If you mount the muffler (as on a tuber) so that it can move around and attach it to headers that can't move, something's gonna break sooner or later. Matt- maybe you need to go the other way. Figure out some way to rigidly attach it under the engine front and rear. |

Hugh, I kind of had it that way, but i was also thinking about possibly spring mounting it at the rear. It can still move, since it obviously wants to, and nothing would break. I dont know, all the shops ive talked to dont really want to touch it. Todays ride was an hour of bliss, until i got home and found out the strap was gone, i really am starting to think just having some tabs welded on that extend to the z bracket would be best. Like the way the d&d is fitted. If i cant get this working ill keep the headers, and chop a d&d race can down to work. Im getting sick of not riding. Or maybe just buy a xb that doesnt fall apart. |

I will have mine that you can ride, it has the stock bars. The one we have with high bars has some miles on it. I don't think I can swing taking it to the hills, but I will know for sure in the am! |

EMCSpy ware HELP I really want to learn this program but am so confused. I own a 2008 XB9SX. I found a ECMSpy program and bought the cable. Connected to the bike. Fetched the EEPROM but it won't save? I think my version only recognized 6 of the 15 pages.(all downloaded but maps won't come up or save) I can start up the bike and watch the Overview gauges. I live in Charleston. Has anyone had success with an 08? I am looking for the last editions of the PC version and Palm ware that might work with my late model. HELP |

Have Ver. 1.12.26. Consider recent post on UKBEG forum by one of its authors: "The 2008+ models are not supported. Some early DDFI-3 ECMs did partially work with a previous version of EcmSpy, but with the most recent ECM firmware updates, this capability is lost too." |

IIRC they've stated ECMSpy will work with the very early 2008 models, but after that, you're out of luck. |

Ecmspy was killed, so your probably out of luck getting it to work |

The program still works if you have or can find a copy; it's just that the original developer no longer provides it and will not do any further development. |

Why is it that Technoresearch offers "Direct Link" through American Sport Bike that works with Buells from 99 to 09? Looks like EMCSpy software? Just cost $$$! |

Direct Link came out first and used to be the only thing you could buy that would let you do TPS resets on FI Buells. Other than that, I think it pretty much just allows you to read error codes. ECMspy was developed later and will do things that Direct Link will not (edit fuel mapping, raise rev limiter, etc.). |

Recent Buell sightings- I've seen a blue Ulysses (I guess that means an 08 or 09) westbound on 526 between the Cooper River and I-26 at least a couple of mornings in the last 2 weeks. I passed a blue XB9R at the Sunoco station on Highway 78 near I-26 this morning. Anybody else seen any "new" Buells lately? Jomama- sorry to see you're selling yours. |

Recent Buell sighting. I met a Uly on Watling Road near US1 in West Columbia last week while commuting to work. Noticed what it was at the last second so I did not get to point at it as usual. Didn't even register what color it was. Guess I was more interested in whether the cage behind me was going to stop prior to engaging my tail section |
