Well, I put my battery on a charger. The bad news is that it is stone cold dead. Will not take a charge. Doesn't even move the charging meter. Guess it's been sitting a while. My fault I guess. Found a battery for it, the XTAX14-BS at batteries plus. For 69.95. Harley wants 99.95 for the same battery. Anyone ever used one of these pups? |

FREEZE STRETCH!!! Harley is doing WHATTTT!!! I can't even think about that right now! New subject, uh.... oh, your battery. You purchased that battery how long ago? I know it is still under warranty; take it back, they don't care how it died; it's still covered- six months replacement then six months pro-rate. The price on everything dealing with petroleum has shot up at Harley a few months back. Do not admit any guilt- it died overnight and you left it on a charger with no luck. To be safe. Call me if something is up with Harley and I will set you up with an aftermarket one. |

I'll let you know when I can do it. Not in the budget right now, maybe next week. Forget about harley replacing it. I already called them. They'd just ask for the mileage on the bike. When they see that maybe 20 miles have been put on it since I last took it in and they replaced it, then they'd know. Heck, they'd know anyway. |

Good to see everyone chatting and keeping up! been out for a while-outta town and touring Tennessee, N. Carolina, S. Carolina- dealer sent me to training in Greer S.C. and I decided to load the XB up in the Silverado ann make a vacation out of it. did the Cherahola Parkway/Deal's Gap loop with a ride through Hellbender not far away between 129 and Gatlinburg. after that had major dental surgery which has had me pretty much on percocets for two weeks and stitches in my gums not allowing helmet wear-so no riding. what really sucks is the XB finally got the primary swap and a new rear tire, turn signals, and a new battery, and I got the Vanson Ventmax3 and a new Scorpion helmet that need breaking in. Mikkie's at Biketoberfest-left this morning and yes, Stretch is right on the money-Harley even admitted it in Enthusiast magazine--MV Agusta is now a brand of H-D although in much the same way as Buell they will basically put up cashflow and let them do their thing-hopefully without too much metteling!? should be @ meet on Thursday regardless of what they call it by then |

Hey all... Long time no chat. HAd my gall bladder removed on Thursday, and got out of the hospital yesterday. Feel 1000 percent better than I did. Buell still down without a battery. Fuel will probably need to be changed out too, since it has been sitting for so long. I'm going to need a manual to do that. Or someone that knows how. I should be back to work by the end of next week. Season is back and work is picking up a bit, so I hope to be getting some hours in. Otherwise, I might have to get another job where I don't have to move around as much. Should have it on the road soon, I hope. HAd the Harley out today though. It's easier to ride than it is to get in and out of the cage. Have to wait and see how long it takes to heal, but I feel much better already. hope all is well with you, and hope to see you soon. My neighbor just got a Heritage Softail. Even if the Buell isn't up, might take a ride down to see Fudds with him. I'll be in touch. |

Good to hear from you Stretch... I don't know that the gas will be too bad, but just in case why don't you try adding some Seafoam to the fuel. |

Might work. I'd hate to screw it up by trying to run nasty gas through it though. I smelled it last month. Smelled ok. But the battery was dead as a doornail. Price on a new one isn't bad, but I haven't got much scratch since I have missed a lot of work over this medical crap. I will get a battery as soon as my budget permits. Looking at sometime in December, I hope. Recovering ok so far. Been 4 days, things are starting to work again. I have been eating some, and slacked on the pain meds somewhat. Nice to have them when I need them though. At least the Harley is still running good. 4000 miles or so on it now. |

I hear you guys, mine skips a couple beats on startup so a quick charge should solve my battery problem, i'm not riding as much as i'd like either but hopefully we can take a ride together soon. I remember my father getting his gall bladder removed and he was in so much pain I remember him asking the doctor to kill him. Then a few weeks later he was perfect(besides the 6 inch scar they used to give you). |

I'll be attending Bike Week. Victory is doing a 10th Anniversary special from there on Friday, I don't want to miss it. Likely I'll also get the beast (2000 X1 for you new folks since I haven't posted in forever) back from the Ohio builder by then... |

Hey Doz, fellow Bueller and Eagle Rider Agent here, check out the site eaglerider.com and see if it's along the lines. We also do one ways and I'm new to the company but I will do my best to get the price down. I worked in a Harley dealer for a while(not in rentals) and understand..... |

There's a big sport bike event going on in the Tampa area on Sunday May 31st from noon till 6pm.. Part of the festivities include a bike show, with a domestic category specifically for Buells. Peabody's is in New Tampa (Tampa Palms) on the corner of Amberly Dr. and Bruce B Downs. Bike registration for the show will be $10. Following the World Tour theme, the categories are: Best Japanese 600 (and 750s) Best Japanese 1000 Best Japanese 1400 Best European Best Domestic I'd like to have a good showing of Buells, I'll be there, working a tent representing the Buell Dealership I work for. Again! I'd like to get a good number of Buells up there!! PM me if you have any questions. -Alton |

Test rode an 1125R today. Nice bike. Handles really well. I found myself ignoring the gauges and just riding by feel. It's really smooth, and handles well. I guess I can dream. But heck, I'd rather be riding. |

Cool, so did you get the Walmart one? It's impossible to beat that price it seems. I found batteries for $55 but they gotta be shipped. Most are between $85-$100. And I guess that means we will see you at bike night tonight, if weather permits? (Message edited by Scarewolf on July 02, 2009) |

Sorry for not making bike nights. Still unemployed, but I have a lead on a job that I'd love, 32 hrs a week. Have to see how it plays out. Busting butt around thbe house. Been doing work on the roof, and today, I had to call a plumber out for a clogged drain. Got fixed ok, but Caused me to lose time doing the roof work. I also lost my key. It was the key with the code thing attached to it too. I am still bummed about it. Still have a key. Being more careful now. |

Buell got in touch with the dealership, they had the top tech in the company walk the shop through the entire bike on the phone. So I get the bike back after 3 months, they said it's perfect. The idle was set at 3000 rpm, no slack in the cables, missing screws all over the bike, wrong screws that don't fit, parts hanging off, exposed wires, it was dirty and it had low tire pressures, but I don't care about that of course. I get home and it explodes primary fluid(milky) all over. Even through the clutch cable on my hand hand controls and through the chain tensioner bolt. My patience now is spent. |
